@@CowKirbo It's just easy. Consider how Spiff individually played the other characters like "This is garbage" for it to click and go "This is absolutely broken"
If you're in for just completing the challenges then you can just use Junebug to do it easily. However the other characters in comparison are more involved and fun.
The final message from developer was very sweet. I hope they will succeed in whatever they will be doing.

That's not a hard one to miss though

Ducky is literally a success story. Man failed, didn't give up, and decided to create more and improve. Much love to them and their team, peps like Ducky are why we can appreciate games on a deeper level and see the love they put into their art.

I love when these kinds of games add a mercenaries mode, really just lets you zone out and relax.
Expect MFN’s is actually quite the opposite. So stressful playing as anyone besides Junebug
MFN is probably the only good indie mascot horror to release recently. Not very much competition when most of the competition is Garten of Banban and Sparky Marky though.

Pretty sure the key is that this game isn't horror at all. It just has a huge amount of passion dumped into it!

I love those spiff thought that he had to complete the puzzles for that room while hordes of enemies came along and didn't think that he just had to survive
I love that this is basically Mercenaries Mode for Resident Evil. Probably one of my favorite game modes

It's used all the time in CS. Shortens the distance and pop time, as well as making you blind to it (ie if it's a flashbang)
I wonder if the Pearl achievement was added specifically for Spiff because the dev has a very good idea what he's like and he WOULD keep trying to off Pearl if the achievement didn't say it won't work...

The Voice Director, Jelloapocalypse, played through this game. He was also joined by a few of the VA's during his two streams.
For all the small flubs in gameplay, MFN wins in how much heart it has. It is the definition of a game made with love. All the little secrets and notes, everything.
As a student game dev, that final message means a lot to me. Uncertain in my future and the work I will do. It really made me feel a lot better about my future. If Ducky can do it, so can I.

As someone who lived in Vegas after growing up on the east coast, can confirm.
Lake Mead's water tastes like straight up dukey.
I had a psychology teacher do the whole "you can't tell the difference" gaslight show, but the honest to goodness truth is there's so much more mineral content the water *feels* thick, and often tastes like copper. Imagine like, drinking half-n-half through a rusty straw.

As soon as i saw the timer my resident evil lizard brain kicked in and i immediately recognized mercenaries mode even with the silly muppets
9:24 I had never heard of Indigo Park, but this footage makes me so hyped to see the full game. The animation and voice acting have me hooked already. I had to pause this video to go watch the full sneak peek (which, by the way, is awesome). I really appreciate Spiff showing it in this video, otherwise I might have never known about it.
Now, back to watching Spiff survive the Neighborhorde!

I like the new mode, it reminds me of the Mercenaries gamemode from the later Resident Evils more than it does a COD Zombies, but the buy system does make it more unique. I hope we see more stuff from Duck Dev, they’re really great with both the design and community.
I can't believe the devs added what is essentially The Mercenaries! That just ties up the RE homages!
Since the original game is inspired by early Resident Evil type games I believe the survival mode is inspired by Mercenary Mode in RE as well. With the time limit, only the one map (instead of unlocking areas of a map like Zombies), and different characters with different abilities.
It just reminds me alot of RE5 Mercenaries when I played with my friend and we both chose minigun Chris and just shredded through basic enemies lol

What a great vid. The fact that you weren't afraid to mix in unrelated stuff like twitch con with the gameplay is so laidback and chill, I love it. And it can hardly be argued that you did that just to stretch the vid time, cuz you chose to cut out hours of play from the vod you easily could've used to fatten up the vid.
Also, the fact that you put in the extra effort with the challenges(self-imposed and not), and made sure to ready Ducky's whole letter is super real of you. Not every creator would've done that. Good stuff.

You keep thinking COD Zombies but I’m almost positive they were thinking Resident Evil Mercenaries when they made this mode. The time limit, different characters with different loadouts, breaking things to add time, the multiplier, it’s all very characteristic of RE Mercs

4:17 Imagine if Spiff did a super limited run of "signed Loaf posters" and they're actually "signed" by her. Like over the course of a few days he puts baby-safe ink on one of her paws and gets her print on like 10 posters. I wouldn't picture her liking that process very much though.

My Friendly Neighborhood. Is a lovely game. It feels special to me. I’m really looking forward to the future projects from Ducky Dev and others.
As someone who is soon going to university to continue my software development studies and later planning to become a game developer that last note from the dev made me feel optimistic. Failure is a natural thing and most likely I won't succeed instantly either, but seeing what they were able to accomplish after a few attempts I hope I can also accomplish something similar. I am very interested in what kind of game they'll make next.

this game has heart and soul hard coded into it and it shows, it has the love, dedication, and gameplay of older games like sly cooper, ratchet and clank, and jak and daxter, with the new technology of today. basically a rare recipe for a fantastic game for everyone. i hope one day i can make something like this too.
