    I'd make a separate channel for full-on car stuff (mechanical, and non-tech related). I remember hearing other creators say that going too far outside your "typical" genre of videos can have a negative impact on you algorithmically. Granted, I have no idea if this is true, as I just watch videos and barely ever make any, but I have heard it more than once, so it might be worth checking in to.

    There is actually a checkbox to rotate the screen in the settings tab.
    Settings > CS Base > Screen Orientation
    It also changed the touch so that's a plus!
    I'm actually thinking to add this to my car too... It only got a built-in radio with absolutely no way of playing digitally connected devices.
    Only thing I would like to know is if it's possible to add a DAB+ receiver and use that. Great thing to play with.

    Man, I'm working on a custom build for my Lexus RX, which doesn't have doubleDIN support, but after months of searching, I found an adequate screen & dash kit. Just waiting on other parts, touch screen and LVDS driver boards. On the subject of GPIO, is there an option for a button that triggers the Raspi official camera or a USB webcam? Or should I consider OpenAuto in favor of crankshaft for that action.

    Subscribed! Congrats on the WRX! I'm on my 2nd STI (hawkeye) and i've been thinking about doing this for a long time now, but never actually got around to it. I have a old Clarion CX603 (4x50w) double din since 2008 -- it was on my04 STI and I replaced the stock my07 STI head unit with it. I thought about replacing the Clarion with a cheap ATOTO head unit from Amazon but then why not build my own and customize it, right? I'm glad you also have the same car because that way I can see how you do the bezels and mount it, etc. Anyways, how's it coming along?

      It's been great, no heat issues and hasn't blown up. Installation wise it has no problems but there are a few things I would upgrade, instead of using a lapel mic I would use a bluetooth one instead to save the hassle of taking things apart and also some stuff in the software I would love to change too

      @mannysingh1358 3 года назад

      @@NovaspiritTech It would be great to see how it looks currently in the car, and your progress so far. Have you published this update anywhere? I made a linux touch screen with rasp pi 3 and I thought it was laggy, so I didn't bother doing a car unit - - I believe the rasp 4 should alleviate this issue with all the RAM options. I'm curious -- how are you amplifying the sound going into the speakers? My idea was to leave my clarion and do an aux hookup to the Pi to be able to use the amp built into it, just for simplicity sake but it wouldn't hurt to learn how to use custom amps. On top of everything else, i'm also rocking a single POLK 12" sub in the trunk which is connected using RCA cables. I'm not sure how exactly to do this on the Pi, plus I haven't done much research for it yet.
      You said you were also going to put in "knobs" for volume control -- have you gotten to that yet? I don't have a 3d printer, but I can take a knob off one of these spare head-units or amps I have.

    I really think you would enjoy open auto pro and im sure if you message bluewave they would probably be more then happy to give u a free key in return you doing a review and advertising for them bluewave is a great company and as updates roll out u just send a email with ur key and they reply back usually within an hr or 2 and the longest I've ever waited was 1 day also all of the issues your currently having with crankshaft bluewave has pretty much solved all that and is just amazing what just a tiny raspberry pi can do u have android auto, a openauto pro connect app for android and iPhone now with Apple car play u have ur raspbian os if u exit open auto pro u have RUclips you have obd2 access for ur vehicle to view guages in metric and standard us eventually will be able to read obd2 error codes and clear them u can connect wireless to android auto which will boot in less then 2 mins with Spotify playing as soon as its on I set up a custom chevy logo great I can seamlessly switch to multiple other apps especially waze for directions im currently working on a gui running in oap to control my hvac controls on the touchscreen especially since I got a 10.1 inch screen and another 9 inch screen im also trying to get a android double din built in the lower center console now that has built in sim card so I don't have to rely on a cellphone and if I forget it I still have a badass system and phone and obd2 scanner and internet I also have a miniature scanner that I built into the center console and u can't tell what it is and I can also print I lift open the cup holders in the floor center console and I have a miniature printer as well it's so nice having it setup like that what u use it for alot is printing my sos essays out since he's back in school just 1 2 days but can't seem to get back in routine lol also most stores now adays price match amazon prime as long as shipping is free and the products the same with some warranty at lease thats what most stores say so I can get most items 10 20 30 sometimes 50 or more since I can print the items and supply the paperwork to the store i love it
