@@dronecamps You indeed do the honest reviews! Never disappointed me, that's why your channel is growing and growing. Come over visiting mine if you don't mind. Peace dude!
I have both the cx3 and the cx2. I was nearly ready to send the cx2 back until I realized that you can also put a 2.5” prop on it as well. I like it better with the 2.5” props. It’s a quality drone as you said and it may cause me to give RunCam another look as well. The two fit beautifully together. Although as you stated, the camera WILL freeze on you mid flight if you have the wrong type of card in it. All-in-all it’s an excellent setup and I’ll be keeping both of those drones.
So I received mine last week. Correction, I received the 3" version last week. It flies amazingly smooth and let me tell you, in person it looks fantastic. Not ugly at all. Very well thought out, nice quality. EXCEPT 1 thing!!! I already have a bad ESC!! And I have searched everywhere for a replacement. But it seems you can only buy the complete stack right now which is retailing around $79USD. Help me out man. Where do I get a replacement ESC!!!
Well, just signed up on the patreon page. Never had to pay child support before. At least here I think the "Justin support" will hopefully go further !!....lol Great info Justin, great filming with music which is very fitting, love it! See ya round-Brian.
I need to get me one of these. I can use the same batteries as my vifly x150 and I can record in HD. Win-Win for me. Thanks for the detailed review, Justin.
I bought the cinepro which uses the cx2 frame, and the frames only cx2 and cx3 as well. Referenced the Cinepro to build my own drones. The CX3 seems to need a bit more space to maneuver. Both those frames have the same amount of space for mounting the stack and all. There’s actually enough space for your own VTX as well as receiver. Plus space to mount the extra board for Runcam Split 3 micro/Tarsier and the GPS. Just have to do some figuring out what goes where. I had Crossfire on one and XM+ on the other. Yet to do any long range flying. Yeah. Very stable frame and all. Love them.
This looks too good, I wish you’d stop reviewing these great quads..... loving the R349 you reviewed recently and now I’m gonna have to get this beauty....
Justin, I forgot to ask you if you have flown the GEPRC Hummingbird yet on 4s??? I love that size ever since the eachine lizard95 model came out. I think the Hummingbird is just a tad bit bigger at 110mm and weight in under 150!!!
I bought this frame to put the components from my Eachine Lizard into.. I love the agility and power of the Lizard but not the battery mounting on the bottom because it tips on it's side every time I land. I bought the two and the three inch versions.. I have two Lizards to convert.
I was talked to by my local sheriff after one of my friendly neighbors called them on me. I live in a private developement that has no rules made for flying so I fly at one of the parks when I get home to unwind. Anyways, I was rolling out pretty fast and saw him walking up to me through my goggles and landed a good distance from him. I have my FAA numbers that I engraved on the frame, but did not have a spotter which he told me I have to have with me. Is that true even being on private property? These rules are getting redickulous. Thanks!
I see you saved the settings of the FC from the CLI using the command 'Dump'. How would you then upload those setting back to the FC if and when required?
Great Revive Buddy, very good info as all ways. I love all things GEPRC.. However I would not buy this model for ( only 1 Reason ) the built in Runcam split. I have had 3 fail on me mid flight ( the screen went Black ) Lost one Quad / Basic crash with the other / and had one on a plane that came down and was Smashed to bits. However that being said I do love the look of this Quad so maybe, but I would remove the split before flight and maybe try the Foxeer Mix.
Hey Mr. Justin, I ran into a real problem this morning with my new CX3 that ended in a bad crash. The worst thing about it is, I have no clue as to what the cause of it was. I was just giving a little gas on 3s with the stock props and it acted as if it lost ?a? prop and then spiraled down. All 8 of the screws and all the motor pins were in tact, but NO PROPS were to be found!? The thing that is making me scratch my brain is how are the bolts still in place and not through any props? How does this happen? The only thing is the provided bolts kinda feel a little loose-goose when threading into the motor tops but do tighten up when all the way in. I did use a little medium strength Loctite and it cured for a day. Please help me so the same doesn't happen with my 2nd set! No damage otherwise from this, luckily I was over some rain softened dirt. Here's a link to the crash: ruclips.net/video/FSNis8atbv4/видео.html
Hey Justin, How does the flight of the CYGNET CX2 compare to a whoop? Does the CYGNET hoover similar? My throttle management (sadly) isn't the best plus I want something to cruise and take videos with. Which do you suggest for ease of flight for video taking? Thanks
I think this is The One to get now. x85 got an update already. There is a review and it is not what I hoped for at all... Hope to see your "honest review"® soon on new x85 - wonder if it is really not up to the task any more with new ESC
I tried swapping cinepro stock props (avan micro 2") for gemfan 2035 and lost a lot of lift. Took 20% more throttle to hover. Wanted more powerful props. But now im think frankenstien it and make it 3" with stock motors. Or 3" with 1407 or 1507 with 3052 props (carry gopro)
Question: I replaced the stack on this Cygnet 2 with a IFLIGHT SUCCEX-E F4 MPU6000 STACK - 20X20 - F4/35A and I noticed the stock PIDs are not anywhere close to what the GepRC FC PIDs were. Are FCs PID baselines unique to each individual FC or do I just restore my old PIDS and it will fly the same as before?
Hi very good review sir. Sir i need you help. I am planning and 100-115mm build. I have selected 2 frames Iflight IX2 and Geprc cignet CX2 which one is good for cinimatic stable flying? Iam planning to use Iflight sucexx 20 20 F4 and BBB 1105 6000kv motors.
hi, thanks for the video, I decided to add this 2" to my fleet. just wondering what to go for - 3s 850 or 4s 850? I think in your top 5 video you mentioned 3s 850. thanks, I need to order new batteries.
Do you happen to know of anything like this (strong & small) but with prop guards? I need something for indoor events and just know I'd explode an 85x or M7HD.
Get it sorted? Another option would be the DIatone GT R249 (1.9" props), comes with optional prop guards. p.s. Someone in the comments above said that this one CAN fit 2.5" props. If that's of interest, then the R249+ frame might be the one to choose - can run 2.5" or 2" props.. but no prop guards with that one.
So ... if i prefer "smooth" video but would like to have a bit of power and be able to throw in a bit of accro ..... is the 115mm OK or should i go for the 145mm ... ??
hey bro! just recieved mine in the post! flys soo smooth BUT am getting wobbles in the fpv feed especially on throttle, did you get that issue or have any advice on me how to get rid of it ? thanks bro
I’ve got a cx3, I was going to fly yesterday. But after plugging the battery in. The quad does nothing but beep at me. The receiver is connected, an bound. Is this telling me to flash my firmware?
Hi Justin, the flight controller doesn't have enough available UART rx/tx pads to install a Crossfire. I have the same issue with my CX3 with R9mm.. Fport does work but only for rc control but no telemetry going back to the radio. No option for GPS too due to lack of UART pads. an option is to replace the FC with the iFlight SucceX mini F4 looks to be a drop-in replacement for the FC and seems to be pin-compatible and has UART 1, 3 & 6 pads exposed on the board. That one will give you options for full crossfire telemetry (or r9m) + gps (or runcam start/stop) + vtx control. I put up a post in regroups in this link and comparing the 2 FCs. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=41289829&postcount=111
tony hanner that’s what it looks like. Crsf tx output to fc is the stick rc control. Crsf rx input is the telemetry being sent from fc back to the radio. Similar to frsky SBUS is the stick control sent to fc and smartport is telemetry from dc sent to radio
please help me bro... im gutted, i have upgraded to betaflight 10.5.1 and updated my flight controller on the gep cygnet 2, now i have copied all of your setting again but my drone is not responding whatsover with my controller, its definitely binded as the receiver is solid green, im getting all different directions on the gyro (even after clickin re calibrate etc) could you do a video on updating yours to new betaflight please?
my motors are running hot after upgraded to betaflight 4.02 . dont know the old filter settings anymore. Anyone also flying this quad and want to share his settings please?
