I gotta say the Runcam color seems better than the Tarsier cam in these, both are top notch and the Pro advanced has easy to change vtx antenna. Thanks for the reviews!
Wow, that’s really a great run time, especially for a BNF quad. It’s not a DJI clone so some skills are required to actually fly this awesome bird. Great find and super video Albert!
I like the way you embedded the OSD screen on a HD footage... excellent idea :)
This Quad is on my list or I will try to build one lol. Thanks Albert as always 👍
I enjoy the way you flew in this video.
Thanks for watching!
I just received mine yesterday. Awesome reviews
Seems like the Cygnet does about everything well. NJ Tech really liked his too, seems like a fairly high quality set of components.
All around good copter. I recommend it.
Howdy Albert and All, just a heads up, a 4s 850mah battery's weight will put you over the 250grams. The 850 comes in at about 103gms. alone. So I picked up eight 4s 750 batteries for cruising around. I do agree with you Albert, this has to be one of the best 3 inch drones around.
Great wideo, this chill music is good too:) I'm thinking about buying 3inch drone, but currently i'm choosing between diatone r349 hd and geprc cygnet cx3. Both have pros and cons.
Great Review AL Again!!! I'm Getting this!!! the Flight Time Sold Me!!
Thanks for re-visiting this.. I'v been looking for some motors to power a 3" HD quad with good flight times.
Pretty sweet flying, Albert!!! 😊
I really really wish I could afford this one.. Looks really good!
Nice flight & footage Albert. This one really tickles my fancy!
Nice relaxing chill flight.👍
Awesome flight and scenery!
Building my own now as I got fed up waiting on BG; emax 1306's & HG F428 should be sweet
Amazing footage and long time flying won 👏👏👏👏😎👍😉👍
Yep easily the best there is. The CX2 isin't bad either and you can replace those 2" props with 2.5" which made it keeper for me. A couple of things to note. I replaced the antenna with an immersion rc stubby antenna and it works much better, also only use high speed cards to record. I had a camera freeze mid flight so lesson learned.
Nice. What battery and flight times do you get with 2.5 props? Better?
would you say the image is more stable or the same from the cx2? ive just ordered the cx 2 now watching this thinking it looks more stable...
I like the OSD on the HD!
Alan Hobbs Yeah, only noticed that now! Kinda missed that information on my haytchdee footage. There is no „look at me, I can fly in air mode!“ LOL 😂
Thanks for the code I used your link 👍🏻
Wow i really need a micro with this long of a flight time!!!!!
Not bad for a flying hot dog. I can't help it, that's what the frame looks like, lol.
it fly sweet this hot dog frame. at first was not my fav but now yes.
@@dhardjono If I had no quads, I would be really tempted by this one. But since I already have a Caddx Turtle and a stack, I'm leaning towards either Albert's Crossbow, The Tomoquads dual camera El Camino or maybe even a Moka Graavity 3in. GNB now has a 550mah 6S lipo, I would be tempted to go 3in and 6S.
I’ve heard you can get longer flight time from a same mah 6s vs 4s due to less sag. Although I would’ve assumed 6s = heavier but 🤷♀️.
More like a sausage or any wiener shape I guess
The quad name is Cygnet2. This is Cygnet 3 footage though, right? Just forgot to change the name? I'm wondering b/c I'm considerably interested in the long flight time and looking to possibly get the one where you're reporting that which looks to be the Cygnet 3.
GEPRC ...hard to beat. You cannot build your own with this quality at these prices.. Out of the box I have filled my quiver with GEPRC.. Quality ...
I like it and I like your vids. Music...also good lol.
I appreciate it
Hi! Split mini looks dated since you showed us that Turtle lol. What a sweet flyer tho! Thanks for your thoughts. Happy flying!
What is the trust of the drone
this is the stuff that dreams are made of.
..The flight time! not the footage!
Just bought this frame from banggood! Banggood sent 6000kv motors instead of 4500kv tho. Arg :)
Is this still your favorite micro Albert? I’m in the market for a 2-3 inch quad. I love the the fact that it records HD.
I enjoy my power loops and building dives also. I wish you would have hit some acro moves to show it off a little.
If you have any suggestions for a solid 2.5-3 inch quad with onboard HD, I’d really appreciate it. ( I asked Bardwell and he sent me to you!👍)
Yeah, if you want something ready to go with minimal hassles, this is the one I would recommend that will fit that check list. If you push it a little it can do some basic acro too but I like this mainly for the HD video. I may do a follow up video with more acro in it. This video was mainly to show flight time. Oh yeah, tell Bardwell thanks!
Albert Kim thankyou so much.
@@rl2769 it is nice and solid build. On 3S it may be a bit to fast for cool HD recording but it is sturdy. I however broke pagoda VTX antenna (the top simply come off after crash), so make sure you have spares.
sasa sasa thanks. It’s on the way. I ordered 650 mah 4s batteries for it.
How much weight can this thing care? Lets say raspberry pi (46gr) and a separate battery for pi(150gr), is it possible? how long of a flight time am i looking at?
Thank you!
I need some general advice on those GEPRC CineX models. As much as I'd love to get my GoPros into the air, I prefer the 3" size for traveling. I am not sure about those cameras in the Cine models though. I know I can"t expect GoPro quality of the 4k Tarsier. I only need 1080p or 2,7k anyway and I wonder if you get better video quality out of this RunCam Split than out of the "bigger" Tarsier? I might swap out the RunCam Split 2 for v.3 anyway soon. The price for the Cygnet is much more interesting than the CineKing or CinePro.
For me, I feel the Tarsier in 2.7k mode and then dynamically stretched to simulate Superview is the best and better than the Split Mini. However, you may want to wait for the CineQueeen with the RunCam Hybrid. This might be the one you're looking for. I will have a review on that model in a few days.
@@AlbertKimTV Wow, that sounds promising! Thank you for your hint! For now I'll keep waiting then.
swap the split HD cam for the caddx turtle V2 and I'll buy it without a doubt
Is the flight footage mislabeled in the OSD? You're getting the 10 minutes on the 3" version, right? How much flight time would you say on the 2" one?
craft name is incorrect in OSD
I see. Okay. Thanks.
Love it!
are you using an external current sensor? On my CX3 there is no current sensor installed, and on the flight controller has no current sensor pin to install an external sensor
virtual current sensor
@@AlbertKimTV is it accurate enough? which scale factor do you use?
is the footage more stable than the cx2? also whats the longest youve got out of your cx2? what battery? great vid mate
Yeah, more stable because of the bigger prop. I did not test flight time max on the CX2. I got 5 minutes on a 550mah 3S.
@@AlbertKimTV dohh i only ordered the cx2 couple days ago after watching your jello 95 percent jello free vid on the cx2. is there ALOT of difference? i did get some 2.5 props with it as wel
There's a LOT of difference. Whatever a LOT is.... LOL
Exactly what I've been looking for.... What was your camera angle on this ? Thanks for another informative and honest video :)
Camera angle was about 20-25 degrees
@@AlbertKimTV Thanks Albert, and what would be the best props to fly this long and slow for just cruisin' ?
Try the Gemfan 3025 bi-blade
Very interesting, pretty good video.
2 questions Albert:
1- Does this 145mm, comes with the new M12 lens, cause on the GEPRC or BG site, it looks like M8 mm lens ?
2 - What do you think of the other version on the GEPRC or BG site, Cygnet3 Pro 1080P 145mm, with 1507 motors ?
BTW for this so called PRO version, picture looks like M12 mm lens.
Do you think this PRO version will add good caracteristics on this Cygnet 3, except of having less fragile shaft motors ?
Thank you for your answers Albert, and keep doing such a nice job with your videos.
It should come with M12 lens. 1507 version will have more power and weight and less flight time.
I noticed this quad kinda acts like mine in the turns (maybe) where it doesn’t quite do a tight bank, instead it just wants to keep going straight kinda so for instance when you want to do i tight bank around a tree you end up doing a long loop around it, how do you tune this out? It might just be intentional and the way you’re flying here but I noticed it’s kinda like how mine acts unintentionally. Too much I or d gain perhaps?
are these double screws on the props better than the single one?
It's for weight savings. Not as durable but lighter overall.
@@AlbertKimTV Ah ok, I thought it was to prevent bolts from unscrewing themselves. (just had my tyro79 chew my thumb because of that)
Did you crash that Cygnet a lot? I'm wondering how durable it is, I like to try new things a lot and it means many crashes.
I have not crashed it much. If you need a tank frame, this isn't it. You'll need something heavier and over the 250g weight restriction.
Is it because the arms are so narrow?
Did someone ever considered switching from the 750mAh 4s Lipo (94g) to a 2s 3600 mAh Lithium ion 18650(92g) with a DC DC converter? Same weight but almost 2.5 the energy 11.1Wh vs 26.6Wh
Do you know its Thrust-Weight-Ratio (TWR) ??? or just its thrust??
Sorry not sure
Thanks for this video. Question, Between this variant and a tarsier based system, which would be best for lower light conditions? Is there any significant improvement going with the F7 pro? Thanks again for your excellence in review and detail.
The Tarsier is better in low light but the difference is minor. For a micro like this there is not much benefit of the F7 over the F4 unless you require top performance with upgraded ESCs, motors, etc.
Albert Kim Thank you Sir. Have a great week.
I apologize if you've already answered this before, but do you think a 12xx, 13xx, 14xx or other size motor is most suitable for 3S with 2.5" props? I'm using a 2.5" Ascent X frame, hoping for freestyle flying with efficiency. Thank you very much!
Go with 1206 or 1304 around 6000kv for 3S
@@AlbertKimTV I'll look for those! Thanks again!
i got 3s 450mah on geprc phantom and i get like 11minutes on slow cruising
Great flying as always and review ! ??? I have a ton of 3s 750 packs would this drone fly good with those ? Or what would you recommend ? Im looking for bnf
Recommended battery in the description
I'm looking for a small ducted quad like this that focuses on long flight time and do not care about speed or freestyle. Anything that can get 20+ min?
I don't know of anything that will go 20 minutes. The closest is this one - ruclips.net/video/emB13NslDUk/видео.html
this one or the geprc cinepro 4k?
Just wondering why the video says Cygnet 2 and I thought it was the 3-inch your talkin about p.s. I enjoy your videos you do a good job
I edited the elements in the OSD and made a typo.... that's all that is.
Hi Albert. I got my Cygnet3 yesterday and flashed Betaflight 4.0 on it. Today that I took it out to fly it the flight controller was going crazy and the quad was trying to fly to the moon. After flashing 3.5.3 (the original BF that came with it) it flew great. Any idea what is up with that? Thank you
I have a video coming out in a few days that should help. You can't use any settings from a 3.5 CLI on 4.0. The numbers don't match up.
I didn’t use anything from the old dump. Only the LED settings. Everything else I set them up manually.
Nice video. I wonder what the CX2's flight time would be with similar batteries setup =)
Flight time would be zero. I would not fly with this battery because you'll burn up the motors. If you use 2.5 inch props and a 550mah 3S lipo on the CX2, you could probably squeeze out 4 minutes.
@@AlbertKimTV ha ha..I agree..Was a typo in my comment of the battery configuration. For 4 minutes flight time I would rather stay with the Mobula 7 HD. Thanks
According to the video it said Cygnet 2 did the camera have a typo just saying
Best propellers for this one?
The ones it comes with are probably the best... if you want to try something else try the Gemfan 3028 props.
Albert Kim sweet! Just ordered one. I didn’t want prop guards like the 4K and I liked this one since it came out. Thanks for the review!
pickle rick! have you tried 2 blade props?
With the R9M being long range, any reason to go with the XM+ receiver?
The XM+ is cheaper and you don't need the module.
what makes this quad last so much longer than others?
Motors
Can I use the same battery on the cx2
No
Does the R9mm version come with FCC or EU LBT firmware? And could i flash it myself if it comes with the wrong version i need?
FCC, and you can flash it to whatever you want.
FCC, and you can flash it to whatever you want.
awesome :)
Hi Albert, very nice fly!! :)) ...I bought the GEPRC Cygnet 3 Pro and I want to know which Betaflight version is the best and which PIDs? I fly with 4S 850mAh and stock props and betaflight 4.1.
Unfortunately I have propwash and oscillation. : (( Can you help me please?
There a many possible reasons for propwash and oscillation. Some you can't really get rid of. Maybe try some different props or go to a lighter battery. I flew mine on factory PIDs and seemed OK to me.
Ok, Thank you :))
is it possible to connect the RC controller of the xiaomi mi drone 4k with it? (5.8ghz)
Sorry, that won't work.
Can you share your pids for a smooth flight I’m a beginner I found the quad drifts allot as I take a turn I need to pitch more forward and throttle more to counter this. Not sure if this is normal
Are you talking about this model or some other model? Mine doesn't do anything weird like that. I'm just using the factory PIDs. Did you change your PIDs?
Thanks for taking the time to reply. No I didn’t change anything I used a 650 yesterday on the quad from gnb. Should I change props the default props are not same as in your video.
You got different props than mine? How did that happen?
Hi Albert!! I'm looking to pick up a sub 250 drone before I head to Canada as the rules have changed there. Do you know if a spektrum receiver will fit on this somewhere? If not, is there another sub 250 can you recommend? Thanks Jacob
You should be able to use Spektrum, but I'm a DSMX noob and don't know much about that ecosystem or what receivers are even available. Sorry.
@@AlbertKimTV Ok no problem. Thanks for the reply
Would the r9m option be worth it on something this small?
That totally depends on what you want to use it for. I have no clue what that would be. LOL.
@@AlbertKimTV I guess what I mean, is for a long range freestyle drone (more cinematic style). Would R9m be worth having, or would it be better to have a larger (>5in) build with a higher power vtx?
You can go places 2.4ghx can't go so if that's what you need, the R9 is worth it. If not, just get the XM+ version
i am bout to put tmotor 1408 3701 kv using mamba fc . you think it will work?
I don't think this frame will mount that motor.
@@AlbertKimTV ok i have tiger motor i will get some other motor. what would you sugest?
This frame is meant for an 11xx or 12xx motor. You might be able to mount an RCX 1304 motor but that's about it.
@@AlbertKimTV Can i use Emax 4pcs RS1306B 4000KV Brushless Motor 3-4S Compatible with 3 Inch Propeller this motor will in fit on the frame?
@@dhardjono I don't think so
Hey Al, are you gonna be doing the GEPRC Crocodile review any time soon?
Doesn't look like it. I was supposed to get one but at the last minute they decided to send it to a different reviewer. I'm not sure what's going on but seems like more products are getting funneled away from my channel to other channels. Seems the fan base else where is making more noise.
You're my go to channel for new product reviews. Sorry to hear this.
MAKES NOISE!!!🥁🎺🚨💣🧨💥🔥⚡️🐚🎤🎳🚀🌋
Hey Albert, I know this is an old vid now but I'm just wondering why I cant hit even close to a flight time of ten minutes with my GnB 850. I've tried to fly super mellow but only getting around five minutes. Totally stock setup with the triblades. Great drone, flies awesome but seems to really eat power...my 650's only get about 3.5 - 4 mins. All batts are good. Just wondering if you're using something else to get those flight times. Thx.
There must be something going on with your PID tune that is drawing more power. Without more detailed information I can't even offer a guess.
Albert Kim the PID’s are stock.
Hi Albert, would you like to test some new models?
What models?
@@AlbertKimTV Hi Albert, may i get ur comments for feedback?
Did the battery survived this?:D
Yes, it's fine. You just have to remember to charge it back up to storage charge ASAP. It gets damaged if you leave it in a low voltage state too long. However, keep in mind when on the copter the voltage also sags and then recovers when there is no load on it. It actually recovered back to 3.5v per cell so not really in any danger. Also, these GNB batteries are higher quality so that also makes a difference. Another brand might have been more likely damaged.
Been watching your reviews for quite sometime now. I just subscribed. I am kind of picky who I subscribe too. You made my list:). I have learned quite a bit from your reviews. I am ordering this and the Jumper T8SG plus V2.0. Could you recommend a receiver for it also what battery would be good for a novice(Me) just kind of jumping up to intermediate level. Hoping to do some cinematic video with it. Thanks.
Get the XM+ receiver. The lipo I used is good with this model and it's linked in the description. Battery is not determined by your skill level, it is determined by what works well with the quad. Your skill level should adjust to the quad, not the other way around.
@@AlbertKimTV Good advise. I did see your Lipo battery review after watching this one. It was more good advise. I will stay tuned. Thanks Albert.
RIP battery though... less than 3v per cell. pretty cool drone though, I'm all for flight times.
you reviewed the CX2 but in your description you are suggesting on the cx3?
It's the CX3. The OSD screen is a typo.
@@AlbertKimTV cool thanks for the clarification!
That's awesome. The Hd is heavy too
Good follow up review. Very impressive flight time. Nice HD. Just curious, for us who are not concerned about the 250g limit(I'm registered as a hobbiest) do you have reviews for an HD capable quad with better performance? Time, range acrobatics. I know it's hard to pick one that's great at everything but if you had a choice, this or something else a bit heavier/larger? Thanks, happy flying 👍💖🤓
Can you give some parameters to narrow this down.... I can give you a list of about 20-30.
@@AlbertKimTV had a feeling question was too open. 😁
As impressive as the flight time was you emphasized staying below the 250g limit. And I get that too heavy a lipo can reduce performance. Have you tested this one or another Quad that flew longer than 10 minutes, not limited by 250g? . Or is this one at the sweet spot? Most of the quads seem only to get a few minutes. If that didn't help get the choices down no biggie. Love your reviews. Thanks Albert 💖🤓
Dear Mr. Kim, Is this quad have much power to do some Power Loops?
Nice Reviews.
Thanks a lots.
Yes, it could do some power loops and acro. I just don't like to fly this in that way.
Hey Guys :) I've build the Cygnet 3 with Caddx Tarsier V2 and BF 4.2.8. Standart PIDs and Rates. My first take off was crazy. The throttle is going crazy with standart BF settings... Any idea?
motor KV is probably too high for the battery voltage and prop size
@@AlbertKimTV No original KV from Cygnet 3 and 4S Lipo...
at that speed \ stress even an elephant can fly for 10 mins with a lipo :D :D :D Landed at 11.2v with a 4s... how to kill a battery :D
looks good, but i need 2inch with 3s.^^
Pity it doesn't come with BLHELI_32 ESCs. But I guess as a cruiser BLHELI_S is sufficient.
I hope my Cygnet CX2 build will also fly that long :)
Don't really see the point in 10 minute flight times if you can only get that by hovering, doesn't sound very fun.
✌️👌👌👌👌👌🔝
You can build a 4" with a split cam under 250g too, and it's better in every single way... Haha 😜
OK Albert, You Can Send Me That One, I'll Approve It & Even Offer To Pay Shipping Ifin You Throw In A Pair Of Them Lil' Batteries!!! Thanks LOL... And Do You Happen To Have An Old Set Of FatShark/Amway Googles You Can Throw In Also, Since I Don't Own Any Of Them Either or Can Afford... ;~(
CYGNET2 on OSD screen is so misleading :)
Love it!
