Great job on the setup. I have two coming next week. Do you mind if I ask what screws you used for the lights to the rails and the rail kit? I like the choice in rails. Really shows of the Orpheks!
I have bought them from Lowes but I kept going back to get different screw lenght. I don't recall which one but I believe they were the Hillman brand in metrix. The nuts were m4-70. Two sets of nuts. The one without the the built in plastic locking top was used to countersink into the orphek lights. The second set of nuts were barely on the tip of the screw so that the rails could slide in. Hopefully that makes sense. If not, I can send you an image of what I'm talking about.
Modern Reefer appreciate it! Do you have the rails connected to each other at all or just to the units? The rails look like they handle both units well. I’ve been debating which route to go due to their weight but the AI rails look solid!
Awesome reef and sweet setup Paul! I’m close to purchasing a couple Orphek OR3’s As supplemental lights...and was curious how high you have yours installed above the waterline? (I’ve watched several of your vids..but couldn’t tell) Reason I ask is because without dimming capability..a bit worried about possible coral bleaching. (I have limited height due to canopy) Hope all’s well. Cheers
I have my light bars 8" off the waterline. It's pretty bright so bleaching is possible. I think I get about 200ish par at the bottom with these light bars turned on mid day while the atlantik is on as well. These lights are not dimmable. I have been playing around with a dimmable solution but was not sure if anyone else was going to be interested in it. The solution would offer controllability by using an apex.
@Modern Reefer Thanks for your reply. Appreciated. Good to hear...As I have the same 8” height as an option. I suppose the lenses can be removed in the meantime if needed to reduce hot spots. Cheers
@@ModernReefer I'm really interested in these lights for my new build. My fear is apparently lots of people are having issues with the lights failing after a few months of use. What's your experience?
@@SDot-dp9xm so far they have been working great. They ram up and ram down every day just fine. It's been running for a few months now. I have 2 other local reefer buddies who has had theirs running for over a year (6 units each). No problem so far.
Nice light setup and gj with the rails - Looks pretty slick! Very nice to see this video as I'm planning a similar tank with a Reefer 350 and 3-5 Or2 lightbars only, probably the 90cm versions to avoid too much light spill. I also want to mount them high enough to get good color blend from the LEDs. I am curious though, what height do you have them at and what par readings are at the bottom of the tank. If you have these numbers and would share that would help me tremendously! :) Cheers!
Thanks. It's 8 inches off the water. I was planning to put it a bit higher but I haven't had the chance. I will do some par readings in the future so stay tuned. If you are looking for just par readings without being in water, I have a video of that here: ruclips.net/video/CWihkNaAUow/видео.html
Do you have a link to all the parts for the light setup? That’s exactly I would like to do with my 2 compacts V2. Beautiful light setup. If your local to Los Angeles county and when this corona virus thing ends I would like to get in contact with your guy who helped you create that setup. Thank you

Modern Reefer thanks for the reply. I tired researching in AI website but couldn’t find those exact ones you have. Maybe it’s an older style rail kit. I’ll keep looking
@@raymondolivares1093 It is an older stytle that is no longer made so you'll have to see who else might have them left in stock. What size were you looking for?
How are the bars? I'm about to buy one and I'm really looking for game changing. I run Hydra 52HDs but need that deep blue that Radions give. Do you think these do a good job?
@@StNovaSt Mine seems fine. The blend is okay. You still get the disco ball effect but maybe that's because my lights are 9inches off the water. Nothing like the kessil's skimmer and blend but still nice overall. Coverage is good compared to the kessils and radions. I will do a full review of the light bar and Atlantik with par reading. Stay tuned.
That will definitely work. Since I have an extra EB8, I'm going to use one port to control the lights. I still like the idea of ramping up the lightbars if they every come out with the controller.
Orphek confirmed on R2R that the controller will not dim the lights since adding a dimmer would reduce the brightness of the lights by 20% or something like that. :( The controller will be Bluetooth enabled.
That light set up is the one I'm after, I'm not at the setup stage yet. But I'm getting closer. Very nice mate
Thanks! If you need a deal on Orpheks, email sales@reeflabs.net
Looks great!
Thanks!

The Atlantik can be ramped up and down but the OR2 light bars can't.

Hi fam,
What is the part you added to attached the atlantik to the or bars please?
It's an old AI tank mounting system that is no longer available.
What temps are you lights running at.? Mine are in the high 90’s
Mines the same. I'm going to switch them out soon since the LEDs keep blowing out on me.
what kind of brackets you used on the ceiling?
Standard "L" brackets from Lowes.
