NOTES:
- the beaver tail also works with the CF 2
- the upper pocket has a velcro "false bottom," that you can open into the main compartment
If I am not mistaken you can also attach the entire CF1 to the CF2 bag
Good stuff. I'm liking what I see. Very intelligent design. I see some nice improvements over the ideas of Mystery Ranch too (the 2DAP is my current hike to day out or overnight pack).
Dirty you make a video on who's coming after you if thing's go bad not long ago I was going to show it to some friends to kinda pull their heads out their backsides but I can't find it? Maybe it wasn't you but I thought it was whoever it was brought up why the 3 to 4 mag chest rigs suck and went into detail if a town gets hit or even if you know they're coming how whoever is there how quickly they'd run out of ammo if they're all just packing 3-4 Mags?
Been using CF packs in both the Marine Corps and at training like One Shepherd and S&S training solution for several years now. They're the best packs I've used as a grunt.
Adding pouches, however attached, seem to always swing about. I have always preferred going for a simple, larger pack than possibly required, and then not stuffing it full. Coming from the UK, of my time, it was either a Berghaus Munro, NI Patrol Pack, or PLCE Bergen, which sat on a full battle belt rig. All very simple with little to them, and the weight of the packs was mostly in the bomb proof construction and not on extras. Things may have moved on, but keeping it simple saves having to think too much when sleep is all you want.
Always love your content.
The ALICE large ruck served me well. Super tough (it even survived my mechanized infantry days on Bradleys and M113s which chew up gear), not expensive (because they refused to issue me anything but a medium), and a huge storage capacity (so you can hump that 100 pounds of stuff like 20 pop and drops and 25 pairs of socks).
I use 2:
Eagle Industries A-III 30litres for walk around pack
British Army Bergen 120litres for ‘carry the house’ pack
I have a 1989 Alice mountain ruck. Probably will never swap it for another.
I have an Alice from the late 80s I sent in to Tactical Taylor to upgrade the frame and pockets. It's the ruckni wished I had when I was active. Damn thing is bomb prood.
I love my bone stock large ALICE pack. I have several MALICE packs. For some reason, I always keep coming back to the original
@Minuteman_Expeditions-wo2cp I have only ever used a large pack. The frame broke during a jump once, and I had to fix it with 100mph tape. I always wanted a stronger frame after that. 😆
Call the army navy store in Fort Walton Beach on Beal for discount mail order Tactical Tailor ALICE pack frames that are welded
@@Minuteman_Expeditions-wo2cp thank you for that. Haven't needed it yet but one day I'm sure I will.
Great kit! I love my CF1 and CF2, really comfortable and practical. Great video mate. 👍
I use the three Molle 2 packs Attack, Medium and Large. For the cost and being new to military packs they are awesome.
I use large ALICE ruck, I gotta have frame! Frame is a must have in the north woods for hauling big shit like quarters and logs back to camp.
Im a pack aholic and have been for years . Discovered crossfire a couple years ago and fkn love them . Have the new cf 2 and man its great . I have the older dg 55 and the new upgrades are worth cost of buying the new versions
For me, buttons are better than zippers unless its a med kit with a spare zipper in it and a sewing kit. Instead of a beaver tail, bungee cord and cord locks from Varusteleka - tough, strong, and less weight, multipurpose. What i would add is birch tar for leather, wooden handles and blades maintenance. Best Regards
I have a small and nice Dutch army surplus pack which is vertically short so it goes well with a chestrig/buttpack. It's perfect size and it'll survive a nuclear blast :)
What's it called?
I keep coming theeeeeese close to getting a CF1 and making my little Savotta jealous.
Great stuff sir...a excellent company and quality kit, have the DG 55 slick and yes, probably won't need any other pack....even though we have more than one 😉.
Thanks. (uk)
I’m currently using the CF2 with the detachable Daypack lid. I also use their DZ Rig (LBE). It’s all quality gear.
Getting serious old school Kifaru vibes from the attachment pouches. Lovely stuff 👌
I have a tactical tailor prototype malice that I will never replace, I do use a tactical tailor recon ruck in its place when I don’t need to carry as much. I even have an original 3 day assault pack from them that has bullet holes from Iraq.
The DZ LBE is top notch as far as comfort goes, the way the pouches close are suspect at best.
Have you tried the eberlestock packs? It was recommended to me for a minute pack
I think it's time to blow the dust off that old Killer Instinct game cartridge. Thanks for that throwback 🤘 Another great video brochacho!!
I run the ILBE asult pack in the summer, And the tryed and true large Alice in the winter. FILBE goes in the truck to get home. And the bug out bag is the ILBE Main pack, but that might become my winter bag, not sure. What's your thoughts on the ILBE system ? Stay Safe.
@@runningman1156 I also have the ILBE as my go-to winter/bugout bag. Sometimes even a bit too small with winter sleep system and food for several days. In cold Germany you need some more stuff. If I could I would shift to the recon ILBE ;)
@DocFischer I also have the ILBE asult bag that will attach to the main pack for more room if needed. But the older I get the less likely I am to be bugging out, unless I can do it with my truck. 😁 Stay safe.
The ILBE is probably my favorite pack I own. Arcteryx design on a government budget is hard to beat. It's suspension system is one of the best for rucking heavy loads for many miles thanks particularly to its beefy hip belt, plush shoulder pads, and effective load lifters. I seriously don't think I've seen another pack with a more rugged or padded belt. I live in Southern Appalachia, and find it has more than enough room for my gear even in the winter. For places that get truly cold I could see it being undersized, but that's what you strap the assault pack on for. Just keep that assault pack very light or you'll regret it, lol.
@@NotTheRealRustyShackleford gotcha, I don't even own the original assault Pack, but I have a 5.11 Rush24 that can be attached the same way... still I never do it. The idea of putting it on the back is maybe the only design glitch of this system. I recently got 2 FILBE hydration carriers and put them on the sides as sustainment pouches. This way I gain some space for food and cook items.
@@NotTheRealRustyShackleford Completly agree, Thanks. Stay safe.
If Crossfire can convince me more, I'd be happy to hear. But I do like my Karrimor SF packs. 30lt and 45lt.
I have additional pouches to add on either pack which is great.
Not a knock on your thoughts and experience (far greater than mine 😊), but just mine and what works for me IMHO, at this moment in time.
I like both packs. You can’t go wrong with either one. I use both the Karimor SF 45L and the CF2.
@@WickedgameC175 I do like the look of the CF2 😉👍🏼
If you had to pick one, which would you choose KSF 45 or the CF2?
Just curious 😁
Modular, lightweight, load carrying equipment...molle.
Just wondering as a novice if there’s a reason you might carry a plate carrier in the ruck. Would you toss that in the kangaroo in the back?
Savotta...? Ok... but definitely interested in cF!
Don't like Savotta
@@GruntProofI’m curious. Savotta comes highly recommended by other content creators (I know, false-advertisement Tube), but I’m wondering.
Do you prefer Decathlon to Savotta? If so, what are your thoughts?
Thanks for the content. It really helps me understand what I need. Training looks like a go for me as well. 👍
@@wahyasaquii7563 My 2¢ on Savotta packs is their suspension system sucks for how pricey they are, but they are well made packs. I only own the Jääkäri S, and for it the low profile webbing straps work since its so small. I can only recommended that pack if you can get it on sale, otherwise just get and ILBE Assault pack. For a serious rucking pack it looks like the Jääkäri L and XL packs have some padding, but just not enough for their capacity. Crossfire seems to do a much better job in this department, and I am a fan of the ILBE suspension myself. I view packs like I view boots. It could have all the bells and whistles in the world, but if it ain't comfortable I ain't buying it...
Killer instinct theme lol
6:10 Hetch Hetchy!
Nice! But, I’ll never go pro.
Honestly thought it was going to be that decathlon hiking bag you dragged behind your truck that bit ago haha
A little bit of spray paint on something or a long rit dye soak and she'll be mostly right
Gotta save up, in the meantime Alice treats me well.
That neck yoke padding looks amazing, how does it feel over hours of use?
Doesn't have to be GP that answers, anybody who has one of those that's rucked with it, I'm interested in how it feels, how is it with breathability/does sweat gather up bad, chafing...I'm a bit of a padding pussy at 57. Getting old sucks boys.
In my experience, the CF1's comfy up to about 25lbs as it comes stock. I modded mine with a padded belt and it works good up to 35lbs (which is hard to fill it that much due to the size)
If you're planning on going above 30lbs with it, a more stiff frame sheet would also be a good idea as well
In terms of heat, it's perfectly fine in my use. It's really skinny width-wise (under 10 inches, unless you add some side pouches) so it doesn't create any hotspots. The yoke and included frame sheet also keep it off the middle of your back.
@darthtater110 thanks for your response. I've got packs out the wazoo and currently have an eberlestock for my get home bag but I find myself over packing it in the summer months and having a fifty pound pack all year round. I just cram a lot of "I don't absolutely need that, but it would be nice to have" sort of stuff. A smaller pack would help since I gave all my smaller packs to wife and daughters.
Snagged a 511 nitro right before they discontinued them. Kind of a step up from an assault pack but not as bulky as a 3 day.
The bigger pack you have, the more useless stuff you'll want to stuff in it. Seriously give the M1941 pack system a try. In fact, I dare you to do so.
I'll never cheat on Alice
Internal metal frame packs will never die. We shan’t let them.
Is this the theme music from Killer Instinct?
I’ve been looking for a pack for up to three days with communications, both long and short in mind.
I've been eying a Crossfire pack for a while. They look awesome, and if you and Brent both reccomend them I have high hopes. Unfortuantlately cash is tight, and my ILBE just refuses to die, lol.
I absolutely love these packs... I ABSOLUTELY NEED a few great packs. But need at least 1 greatpack. Had a few junk packs.. but suggest dirt time... for those who have never seen a forest.. just a tree here an there. Donations accepted. Hmu
Lowe Alpine
@tatiananaugolnykh ok, sounds great! Beggars can't be choosers! Or.... assholes are us.. I hope you are the best prepared in the universe because EVERYONE NEEDS HELP SOONER OR LATER. THATS WHEN THE OVER CONFIDENT DIE. #FACTS
I have the cf3 but never use it past the 55L. I took the detectable pouches off that make it 70L. the CF2 would have worked just fine lol
I love the killer instinct music fucking badass😂🫡
For an overall general purpose pack, how would you rate the old reliable ALICE pack with frame and padded hip belt?
Crossfire backpacks---not to be confused with Crossfire Hurricane
Great reviews! Thank you!!
so how does this compare to something like an eberlestock?
Mystery Ranch only. Your brand isn’t even IR compliant.
I believe those pouch fasteners are called toggles.
Sounds cooler than strappy things
Crossfire DG3 for the win. But you need to ruck with it lots. That mf is heavy as hell empty.
Good stuff
How well does the cf2 work with your gun belt?
I don't wear gun belts
I see you have misspelled Kifaru sir!
I've been rucking Eberlestock's Operator for a good while now, the gear has never failed or disappointed me...
The title is inaccurate. The last pack I bought was the last pack that I will ever buy.
Arc'teryx
Get an ILBE main pack... designed by Arcteryx and tough as hell
👍👍🍻

@@Minuteman_Expeditions-wo2cp goooooood ;).
During my time in the US Army we used the lensatic compass (tough, fairly lightweight, tritium lights, quick to use) and the M2 compass (usually only for mortars/artillery, bulky, somewhat fragile, more accurate than lensatic, less accurate than aiming circle with tripod).
Did you buy the bags? I don’t think I’ve ever seen or read a CF review of someone who’s actually bought one.
Because anyone who is going to actually pay that kind of money just goes with Kifaru.
@@drunknnirish I mean they should. Kifaru is USA manufactured so it makes sense to pay a premium. CF is made in Vietnam which isn’t necessarily bad but the point of making stuff there is to be able to sell it cheaper.
I bought one of their DZ rigs. It's quality, well-thought out kit, worth every penny I spent.
@@BoomerChimichanga so did I but I disagree. There are a lot more competitive options
@@swalker157 You stated you never heard a review from anyone who has actually bought one. Now you have...sorry it wasn't what you wanted. Enjoy.
Good stuff.
Is this an ad?
Yes. I need another jetski
@@GruntProof lol, wouldn't it get banged up on all the rocks in that creek?
@@Brenjen67 thats exactly why he needs (a new) one! 🤣
Great brand Crossfire. If I wasn't already heavily invested in ALICE and MOLLE packs and was looking for one really good modern pack - the CF2 looks like a winner! I've been able to adapt the military packs (specifically the medium ALICE and the medium MOLLE rucks) to fit my needs well but it took some trial and error. Solid overview!
Find me a man named Aurand. Sgt. In 68 vietnam. I'll buy it. During Tet. I ll buy it.ǰ
