My 4 year old looked at my phone while I was watching this video and said “wow she has beautiful hair! She has the hair I like, curly pony tails” 🥺💗 thanks for teaching us how to care for both of our curly hairs lol
What an incredible video!! My goodness Mel you kill it! And I think I need a master class from Amanda on editing. Dang!!! So good!
I love your channel❤ I love how all the hair tubers support each other its so sweet! Its like all of y'all are connected 😆
Omg! A Queen herself has commented on another Queen's video. ♥️💅👑
@@dianareynolds2446 Ikrr
you prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Wilson Onyx instablaster :)
Ooh... is this the start of a “basics” series? Will we have future in depth videos for conditioning, deep conditioning, prep, style, etc? Maybe some product ideas for different hair/curl types?
Happy texture Tuesday!! I definitely have a normal / combo scalp but it’s more dry in the winter as we all know 😂
Right sees!!😂
Mel, can you explain how to see if a shampoo is clarifying, chelating, moisturizing or something else even? For instance, is purifying the same as clarifying? The claims on these bottles are so confusing!
Mell, you’re a true gift to us, and we really appreciate everything that you do. Keep being the amazing woman that you are, keep motivating us to do what's best for our hair while being honest about it. I have learned a lot from your videos and I look forward to watching them. Thank you so much beautiful lady.✨♥️🏆➰〰️➿♥️
Thank you for making me smile with your comment, I hope you have a wonderful Texture Tuesday, thank you so much for washing
Thank you!! So sick of the myth that my oily skin will go away if I stop washing it. Nope, I just get dandruff and clogged pores that way!
Take a shot of water every time Mell says “scalp” and you’ll never be dry again 😂
Saw this comment halfway through the video. Started taking a big sip each time she said 'scalp'. I make it a little over 5 minutes before I had to stop. Felt like I was going to burst with all the water I was drinking!
Yay never been this early! Could Amanda please do a video on working out with long curly hair? (hairstyles, how often to wash, how she goes about it throughout the week for those who workout multiple days a week etc..). Thank you for all your awesome content, I always look forward to it!
I got you!! Make sure you check out this video: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO WORKING OUT WITH CURLY HAIR ruclips.net/video/yE3FlfDYpmc/видео.html
Excited for this one! I work out 6x/week and sweat a ton. Like my sweat will make the base of my hair soaking wet. I’m a 2C/3A and it’s such a struggle to balance exercise and being a nighttime shower person with styling and taking care of my hair.
OMG same
SAME. I'm the world's sweatiest person anyway.
Same! I'm really struggling with figuring out a routine for washing my hair, working out 5 days a week.
this was soooo needed. THANK YOU CURLY QUEEEEEN♥️♥️
Thanks for this Mel! Very helpful!
Great video again Mell, thank you, can't wait for your video on product build-up!
One of the most informative videos on scalp conditions!!! Your thoughts are well laid out and very thorough. Really enjoyed watching and it helped me a lot!!! You outdid yourself, Mell!!!
You can never learn enough about the scalp, I say.
Oh absolutely, for time's sake I kept this video simple; there is truly SO much to share!
Girl you rock! I absolutely love the way you explain everything. So so so helpful!
Omg yessss I needed this! I'm so confused on how to care for my scalp! Thanks Mell!! ❤❤❤
Yes! Mel please more videos on scalp care. So appreciate your knowledge and l enjoy your humor.
I really appreciate all the time you put in to researching your topics for videos. My hair has never looked better thanks to you and Amanda🤗
i could litterally watch u all day everyday. i’ve been watching you for so long and each video i still learn something new!!
OMG!!! I loved this video! It’s so helpful. Thank you Mell! ❤️
I'm only a minute in and I'm already happy to be watching. You are always such a joy to watch and I appreciate the good vibes you share in your videos. Thank you for choosing to share your knowledge with us.
OMG this is just what I needed, I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Much needed my scalp has been so dry due to this winter in Canada. Always coming through 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love how informative you are. I'm definitely more of an analytical mind. Having you explain the science and even sharing the articles and studies makes it so clear! I love what you are doing. I'm a relatively new subscriber but I LOVE your content! :)
Thank you for this video, Mel. Nobody talks much about oily scalp and focuses only on dry scalp issues. This is so helpful ❤️
I needed this video more than I knew! Can't wait to implement all this new knowledge in my life and scalp!
I haven’t seen your videos in so long! I seriously needed this... thank you! Mel always coming to my rescue. 😭❤️
Love the ambiance!! And that beautiful portrait of you!! 😍
I love your hair color here! So flattering on you & natural looking.
I’m late, but can we just take a minute to appreciate Mel and how much work goes into researching and informing us 🙌🏼🙌🏼💕 honestly, thank you!
I just started exfoliating my scalp and doing hot oil treatments because of your videos, and I have to say it’s made a world of difference! Thank you for helping me battle 20% humidity Colorado winters
Mell, you're such a relatable person. You're definitely my most favorite youtuber
Ooooo! Yay! I am so excited! Thank you! 💛
Thanks for the tips! Such a great video!
Thanks Mel! Sensitive oily scalp here and it drives me nuts the know-it-alls that just tell me to wash my hair only once a week. Well, you know what irritates sensitive scalp? OIL!!!!! So every 3 days work for me. You are so right to say every person and every hair is unique.
Your hair looks AMAZING! Love the info definitely need to do some changes in my routine
I'm so glad I've been watching your videos. I've figured out my hair porosity, learned that silicones and sulfates aren't bad, and overall I'm gonna start looking into a better hair routine because of you and I cannot express how excited I am. I've been attempting the curly girl method for a year or two and its just not it for me. And a big key for starting my curly hair journey, was because I chopped off all sorts of a perm about 3/4 years ago (and I've been cutting my own hair since.)
Thank you so much for existing and making so many helpful videos 💖💖💖
Omg thank you Mell for validating for all us oily girls that scalp training is NOT FOR US. Love you!
What an excellent video, thank you so much Mel ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the help Mel! Gotta love Texture Tuesday 😍
Favourite day of the week
i love your energy mell 🔥🔥
Amazing and helpful video, thank you.
I love love love your content, timing, break up of info, humour, energy and video editing skills. Thank you and I’ll stop trying not to wash my hair and ignore the itchiness from day 2 onwards, as I learn the curly hair method.
As someone who has oily hair finally hearing all this oh GOD THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! FINALLY IT ALL MAKES SENSE!
THANK YOU. I've been struggling with flakes basically my whole life. And always thought it was dandruff. I always used super clarifying shampoos, which now I realize was probably making it worse. Exfoliation is what I need!! Thank you!!
Your videos have really helped my hair! Thank you
Wow!! This video is amazing 🤩 love it!
I honestly think you just drop so many gems. I appreciate this soo much!
I try!! Thank you so much for watching
Amazing video!! I can't wait for the product build up vid 👀
Sooooo I had left the curly world for a while...but I am back! I need to go watch all of your videos from the start...to go back to basics for myself!
It has taken a long time, but I finally have what I call "second day hair". Never in my life has my curly dry hair looked good the second day without washing. I now have beautiful curls second day. Working towards third day =) Thanks, Mel =)
@Carina Tejada me too, but I'm not willing to use all those products and all the time involved to, I guess, "set" the hair? I can't keep adding products every day to revive my hair, because any products after a simple leave in conditioner weigh down my hair and makes my scalp itch and it gets all oily. I don't think I want to do every step, or have a four hour wash day, because my lifestyle is wash and go. I never blow dry my hair because it dies. I do wash every other day, and all I care about is nice healthy curls, healthy scalp, and carefree bounce back hair. I think you should think about your goals versus your lifestyle? I'm very content with what I've gotten =) I'll still condition the crap out of it and keep it healthy.
@Carina Tejada sounds like you're on the right track =) I definitely notice great results after at least learning the basics like conditioning and hydration. I learned not to care about third or fourth day hair, if I can compromise and get what I mostly need =)
Love love love this video!! Thank youuuuuuuu!! Cant wait to watch the product buildup video 🙌
coming up next!!
You are not too much 💕
Thank you for your amazing videos!
Such great info. Thanks Mel! And thanks for the bloopers too 😜
I will forever be amazed by all the knowledge that comes from Mel and the editing by Amanda 🤩
@7:29 "exasperate" your dry scalp. I think you mean "exacerbate". But the idea that my hair is exasperated at me and my showering habits did make me lol.
This actually was super helpful, thank you 🙏🏻
I love to hear it! Thanks for watching
I don't know why but I just get so excited whenever you post lol
Sooo happy you did this video answered my questions .
Hi Mel, this video was awesome! And YOURE NOT TOO MUCH!!😁👊🏻
How does Mel always know exactly what I need in terms of hair😂
I've been listening to what you want to see so I'm glad you're enjoying this timing
i needed this so much, my oily scalp and hair is ruining every wash and go of mine and it irks me so much, I love you Mell.
The painting behind you is fantastic! As always you look beautiful, love your hair n makeup. I didn’t notice any skin problems.
The silicone scalp massager that you recommended in a previous video is also a huge help when washing both dry or oily hair!
oh yess!! Def one of my fav hair tools
It helps a lot with my dry scalp and hair. I can safely wash my hair twice a week before my scalp starts feeling too tight and the scalp massager has helped with any product buildup and how my hair and scalp feels afterwards including not feeling as tight.
I see good comments about scalp massagers everywhere, but everytime I use mine, my scalp is overly sensitive after sometimes it hurts. Is it just me?😭 and I do it very gently.
@@tammie3194 mine can if for whatever reason I use it back to back days instead of the normal few days between wash days.
There was a time when I thought some of my sore scalp was due to the scalp massager so I stopped using it for a few weeks. I eventually found out it was a different reason and slowly started using it again. There are some time where I need to skip a wash day using it instead of using it every wash day.
@@jenniferprice9971 Hmm... ok ty.
Very informative!
Love that picture on the wall!
Love your hair like this Mel! Something about your hair off the face gives you a different vibe.
You've changed my life ♡
Yessss i really needed this ❤️❤️
I hope it helps 😍
In love with the butterfly clips 🦋🥰
Love the pig tails! So cute as always. Love the vid!💕✨
Very helpful!
Omg you read my mind with this video!! 🤯
I love your channel! just the kinda curl girl i wanna be watching🥳 x
I've always thought I was pretty much alone with the problem of having a dry and itchy scalp. Way before it was "in" I was checking ingredients on shampoos to avoid harsh sulfates. 😕
It is definitely worse in the winter months, but even before this video I've learned a lot about scalp care (which my dermatologist never told me...) from Mell. I LOVE the scalp care line from curlsmith, it really has helped me a lot.
Thank you Mell for this great video! I'll be trying the hot oil treatment next 😊
Just watched the whole scalp care playlist. I feel well fed. What nutritious and delicious content you seesters serve up. 🙏
wow your videos keep getting better and better Mell. Always entertaining. Top in the curly entertainment world of RUclips.
This was great, so informative! I’ve been helping my bf get rid of white little flakes so this is perfect 👌🏻
Great video I learned A LOT
The person with scalp pain/tenderness....I had that when I had hair down to my elbows. It's thick, so the weight of it pulled on my scalp. When I cut it, the pain went away. Could be that if you have long/thick hair!
So many questions were answered in this video that I didn't even know I had 😄 Mel never disappoints
Months of trying to fight the flaky scalp because I thought it was allergies to ingredients or dandruff... only to after one try of following your tips from this video realise that I just have dry scalp that needs exfoliation and hydration.
Thank you!
I've been needing this!!! I usually have a pretty normal scalp but lately its been real dry and itchy ☹ thank you Happy Texture Tuesday!!! Much love and happiness 😘 xoxo!!!
Mell I love your videos so much!!!!! Can u review the lush curly hair products? I love you so much❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this!! 💚
You're so welcome!😍
Very good content. Will forward to my cousin that has an oily scalp.
That hairstyle looks so good on you.
HI MELL!! I’m a little late but happy texture Tuesday!!! I have some homework to do so I better get to it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love your videos
So helpful! Have you ever thought about making a master list of products you’d recommend for oily/dry/combo hair? Maybe you could put a (p)/(m)/(b) next to them indicating which are for when you need protein or when you need moisture and which ones have a balance of both or even a (h)/(l) for high/low porosity hair. Just an idea and I’m sure that would take a ton of work. If I had more time I’d go back and rewatch all your vids and see if I could figure this out, lol. Your videos have totally transformed my 3a/b curls and I appreciate you so much!! ❤️
ur hair looks so cute!! id love to see another curly hairstyles videos
You look sooo beautiful. Thx for all the answers ♥️
Your hair looks gorgeous as always :)))
Thank you for this!!
Love those butterfly clips!
Great, informative video! Mell, I have been using clarifying shampoos lately because my hair is having trouble with moisture. My hair usually loves moisturizing shampoos. I know that my hair needs moisture. I have a dry scalp. I need to do more hot oil treatments.
This video is very helpful thanks Mell!
My hair type:
Day1: frizzy after a wash
Day2: oily
Day3: perfect
Day4: flat
Day5: oily, with extra oomf
Day6: hair feels dry and weird
Day7: start all over
Woooow! Her hair is getting so long! It looks gorgeous 😍
Great video, much needed! Also for a split second thought Simply nailogical was going to make an appearance when i heard the intro music lol Keep doing you, cant wait for the next one!
