For anyone else watching this video and trying to figure out the guitar, one of the chords that looks like C is actually an Am with his middle finger just touching the 3rd string to mute it. Not going to lie, spent about half an hour trying to figure out how he was making a C major sound like a minor chord...
    Doc never ceases to impress.

    • @kalebgates7711

@@patrickpearson9150 It's a waltz, so there's 3 beats per measure. Capo on the 4th. Count out 1, 2, 3. Play the bass on 1, and strum 2 and 3. The chord progression is something like: C, Am, C, F, C, F, C, F ... etc, till the next verse. There may be another Am in there, but it's hard to hear and like I said in that above comment, Doc holds his fingers in a way that make it hard to tell by just looking.
As for the little solo section, mess around in C (frets 1, 3, 5 of the first two strings) and you'll figure it out.

This is such a wonderful piece of music. I have heard many covers but doc's delivery is astounding every time. That being said did anyone else notice how the guy in the white tee reacts when doc says "I ever saw..." only tid bit that takes away from the total somber and reflective atmosphere. kind of awesome.

The song itself is older than this performance. It's an old folk song.
