    I love how he kept the guitar simple so the words would predominate. Beautiful rendition.

    I saw Mr. Watson do this song at one of his shows in North Wilkesboro back in the 70's. He did it with a local kid who had MS or some similar condition. When they were sitting it up to perform, I didn't expect a lot. The rest of the band stood back leaving just those two. When they were finished I doubt there was a dry eye in the place. And I know I'll never forget it.

    I'm just a poor, wayfaring stranger
    While traveling thru this world of woe
    There is no sickness, toil or danger
    In that bright world to which I go
    I’m going there to see my Father
    I’m going there, no more to roam
    I’m just a-going over Jordan
    I’m just a-going over home
    I know dark clouds will gather o'er me
    I know my path is rough and steep
    But golden fields lie out before me
    Where weary eyes no more shall weep
    I’m going there to see my Savior
    Who shed for me His precious blood
    I’m just a going o'er Jordan,
    I’m just a going o'er home

    Tamo gde božiji spas nad njima bdi.*
    Idem tamo da vidim svoju majku.
    Rekla je da će me sačekati kada stignem.
    Tako da samo idem preko Jordana.
    Samo idem kući.
    Samo idem preko Jordana.

Untrained maybe but still fine, resonant baritone voice, and beautiful sounding acoustic guitars played sympathetically with perhaps simple but nevertheless attractive melody and Doc's voice. I'm another one who doesna get it.

      J'y vais pour ne plus errer;
      Je vais juste bientôt franchir le Jourdain,
      Je vais juste à la maison.
      2 Je sais que des nuages sombres se rassembleront sur moi,
      Je sais que mon chemin est accidenté et escarpé;
      Mais des champs d'or s'étendent devant moi,
      Où les yeux fatigués ne pleureront plus.
      [ J'y vais pour voir ma mère,
      Elle a dit qu'elle me rencontrerait quand je viendrais ;
      Je vais juste bientôt franchir le Jourdain,
      Je vais juste à la maison.
      3 Je serai bientôt libre de toute épreuve,
      Ce corps reposera sous le gazon;
      Je vais laisser tomber la croix de l'abnégation,
      Et entrer dans ma maison avec Dieu. ]
      J'y vais pour voir mon Sauveur,
      Qui a versé pour moi son précieux sang;
      Je vais juste bientôt franchir le Jourdain,
      Je vais juste à la maison. "
      (Il existent plusieures versions, j'ai trouvé celle-ci en ligne. Ici Doc ne chante pas la partie entre [ ]. Il y a encore une autre strophe en Anglais.
      La traduction ici est de Google traducteur et légèrement adaptée. Excusez les fautes de français etc. s'il vous plaît.)

    I wouldn't even call this a version of Wayfaring Stranger. It's a teaser to what is a beautiful song, or would be a beautiful song if he sang more than just a tiny fraction of it. Maybe it's just too much to remember more words to the song.
