Thanks for the video Carey. About the 2nd or 3rd time I've watched. Still as relevant today as when it was made.

Thanks for the information. I 'm about to upgrade my RAM. This is a great help, I can return my purchase within the time limit of the return and exchange period if there's something wrong with it.

Awesome video! Would definitely recommend testing ram when you get it because I had a defective unit and it was constant bsod and wouldn’t let windows even start.

I did run this when I got a ram upgrade. Good thing I did, because the ram I got was defective. Memtest86 found errors on the 2nd through 4th round of it's testing. Was able to RMA with Corsair and got it replaced. Happy to say the replacement ram passed Memtest86. Windows ram check did not find any errors. So I trust mem86 way more than the Windows memory test.

This USB Drive plus Acronis USB are always in my Toolkit along with a USB drive that has all other testing programs I normally use like Crystal Disk Info/Mark and even Carey's Optimizer program I bought awhile back. 3 USB sticks all fit in a small pocket on my PC tool bag and comes with me wherever I go on Office/House calls. I also have a set of thee that stays in my Workbench drawer when I have repairs going on locally in my repair/office at home. Always test Ram modules when you first get them, Ram is THE ONLY constant defect issue I regularly run across and it's usually on the Higher end brands rather than the cheapo brands surprisingly enough. All other PC parts are rare to have DOA issues, but Ram in my experience has been the more troubling part, it's still a rarity but seems to happen more often than not with RAM specifically.

Great video. I did note, that at no time did your fingers leave your hands! LOL. Question for ya, I have an older computer that does not allow for booting from usb, only cd rom, floppy(Remember those?), or hdd. Is there a workaround for this using memtest86? Or any alternatives to memtest86? Thanks

How is it that I can run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and get no errors, but when I run the memtest86 I get over 1,200+ errors?! Hmmmm...

Ha cool, I've been getting the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD randomly for a bit now. I tried this and ran it overnight and then woke up to over 100,000 errors. I don't want to believe it because it is 2 trident-z modules 16g each but it is what it is. I think I'll get a much cheaper replacement or just use 1 if there is an ok stick.

I loved the Intel I7-9700K processor. Now on 12th gen Intel. AMD will never cross my doorframe 🙂

I'm with you. I've always used Intel but recently built a new PC and decided to buy a 7800X3D. Nothing but problems ever since. I'll never touch another AMD part again in my life. I'm sticking with Intel and NVIDIA. AMD CPUs seem to be problematic with NVIDIA's GPUs. AMD blames NVIDIA and NVIDIA blames AMD. But I never had problems when running Intel and Nvidia so I think the problem is AMD.
