Chase take a deep breath and relax ,you are listening to what were and still are a PHENOMENON. Take the time to source their music videos if you can ,the videos are as good as the music they are bonded together to give you a feast for the EARS and the EYES ,ABBA will take you into a different dimension and great heights of astounding ecstacy.Their is some great music in this world, but ABBA are the MASTERS and every song sung, and every piece of music created and played by them are MASTERPIECES.
The music scene back then was TOTALLY different. We bought singles and albums. ABBA normally released 3 singles from each album. On Arrival they released Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You and Money Money Money. They would make a video for each one so they did not have to travel all over Europe promoting it. That’s why some tracks have loads more views than others. Abba really invented the music video !!! This is why there is not an official music video for this track. They did do one however and it was released with a special DVD/CD pack of the album.
The thing is also, you can listen to their songs 1000+times (as i did) and they only get better! There are so many layers and details and depth you don't hear the first time and all packed in easy ear catchy melodies full of hooks. They are really one of a kind.
The last song (Why Did It Had To Be Me?) and this one have great videos (here the official video) to watch which takes the numbers of views you are talking about. Nice watching you digging in the ABBA-treasure. ”The Name Of The Game” has a nice video aswell.🤗
Maybe you couldn't play this much on radio as much these days 🙄🥰 It's a fabulous song! We sang this in primary school class (elementary school in the US) to our (male) teacher (in harmony - amazing!) at 10yo and yes he blushed a lot! He did say thank you though 🥰 You cannot believe how big ABBA were in the UK - and yeah this was a children's/teen party song. The 70's were more innocent times when wanting to kiss the teacher meant on the cheek was acceptable (because they COULD give you a hug if you cried), you trusted them like parents, children went out to play all the time rather than just sitting on their bottoms playing computer games and we had real joy. I'm glad I grew up then.
"If it wasn't for the nights" is a hidden gem that shouldn't be. It was originally supposed to be the main single from the voules vous album but Chiquitita was chosen instead. Great positive sound with melancholic lyrics about the pain of the split between Agnetha and Bjorn
Another great reaction Chase; as you see, there is no bad ABBA song. ABBA was my "endorphine rush" growing up. The effect of their music was transformative. 3 other hidden gems are "Dum Dum Diddle" , "Bang a Boomerang" and "Im a Mareionette" - songs with crazy orchtestration, beats and other world harmonies. Welcome to ABBA world; once you're in, you can't escape! 😊
I grew up as a teenager with this band . Surprising your reaction . BTW listening to this song for first time in 40 years I can hear accents on the word ‘ Teacher ‘ . Rarely could u tell they are Swedes while singing.
Another not very well known and amazing is "ABBA - I've Been Waiting For You (1976) " - I would like you to react and of course all ABBA songs are great as hell :)
Good morning Chase from Berlin. You do a really good job there. 👍🏼I love your reactions and if you like to discover another hidden gem please try to hear MY MAMA SAID or HEY HEY HELEN. More pure and bit rough from earlier times. Hugs. Alex
This album cover Arrival takes me back to a time where a teenage boy sat in his room , afraid of the outside world, afraid of everything. Listening to ABBA and feeling ok and hearing through them that it's going to be ok. I don't have many memories of that world anymore. A very different world then, but I do remember Arrival.
Hello again! so nice to see You reaction more ABBA this song is very funny, with powerful rhythm and fantastic backvoices there is a official video, very creative, where Agnetha plays her rol so well; it's one of the most funny Official Videos of ABBA (with "Head over heels" & "Take a chance on me") It also shows that great things can be done with simplicity "When I kiss the teacher" (1976) is the opening track from the album "Arrival", a Masterpiece of pop music with three worldwide hits like "Dancing Queen", "Money money money" & "Knowing me knowing you" and another greatest songs like "My love My life", "That's me", "Tiger", and the instrumental "Arrival" From this list I suggest You: "My love My life" (gorgeous ballad) there's a special video with only the blonde Agnetha appears and of course, it's so different I wish You a great weekend My best regards from Buenos Aires ( Argentina )
The opening track of their Arrival album-their best album IMO. There is also an official video clip of the song. Nice to hear those acoustic guitars before Benny unfortunately got hold of those synth pianos and started putting in imitation sounds for genuine instruments in later albums..
"Tiger" from the same album is also worth (which Abba song isn't worth listening to!) listening to one day. Not a single but has a video also from the 1976 tv special.
Another one that was only released on the album and not released as a single. To make the Billboard charts back in the 70's, the song had to be released as an actual 45 rpm single because Billboard relied on radio station plays as well as sales of the single to compile their weekly Hot 100 chart. But, nonetheless, another great song from ABBA!! You have to go to London to see the ABBA Voyage concert... It'll blow your mind!! It's actually computer generated images of the band members. They do all their greatest songs.
Everytime you listen to the same song focus on something different, just the vocal, then listen again, focus on the backing vocals, then start again and pick out each instrument, you can then piece the song together bit by bit, every ingredient of the song is just as brilliant as one another.
@@chasevickerss you're welcome, I've watched a lot of your ABBA reactions, I like them ,I was around when ABBA made it big ,they were always in the news, and everyone always said how beautiful the girls and their voices are,I'm in the UK.
OMG - memories 😂 I was 11 years Old, when this came out and had a huge crush on my mathteacher 😍 No need to say, that I heard it over and over and over again 🤣🤣
Plenty of stories nowadays of ‘kissing the teacher’, particularly in the States, this song won’t get you banged up in prison though, whereas the other will 😂😂
Another great song from the "Arrival" album. Check out "Tiger" from the same album. Two great songs from the "Super Trouper" album, are, "On and On and On" and "The Piper". 👍
"TIGER" yes but the video with the gurls driving the fast car in the city not the audio again.Same goes for "On and On and On".As for WIKTT i gave thumbs up but didn't watch this.I'll do it if he decides to do the official video.
@@christianoazzuro6711 Oh definitely + Eagle (from Abba: The Album). There are so many brilliant ABBA tracks. One of my favourite tracks of all time is probably "S.O.S." but I love "Chiquitita". I played this on guitar for a little 8yo UK (female) Cub Scout called Sophie - was beaten once at home (awful). She took ""Chiquitita" to mean "Little Girl" (rather than a term of endearment for a woman) and she sang it beautifully as the 'little girl' substituting "I'll sing once more as I did before". I had tears rolling down my cheeks I can tell you! Continuing the slightly dubious theme, check out the brilliant "Does your Mother know?"
@@joannecunliffe8067 Thanx for sharing your story!!Btw SOS is in my standard top 3 Abba tracks from the big known hits.''Chiquitita" is my parents favest Abba track..
Loving sharing your ABBA journey with you Chase. Your reactions are wonderful. Happy days! May I suggest you start a Beatles journey right from their very beginning? xx
I think going for audio is a great idea, as Chase has discovered so many hidden gems like "AngelEyes", "As Good As New" and "Why Did it Have to Be Me?". I do love the video for this song, but he can always do it later as a separate reaction! "2 For the Price of 1" you might say... Now THAT's an ABBA track that always gets a big reaction!
Hi Chase, thanks for your reactions! I guess the low numbers of reactions has also got a lot to do with video’s. Abba was a pioneer with those aswell. People react to their video’s a lot. Suggestion for you from the same album: That’s me❤
Great reaction! Always fun seeing people enjoy the hidden gems. If you like this song and want to listen to equally amazing ABBA songs (as well as avoiding reacting to the boring ABBA tracks that thousands of youtubers already have reacted to), listen to these ones: 'Move On' 'The Way Old Friends Do' (the version on the 'Super Trouper' album) 'The Piper' 'Eagle' 'Another Town, Another Train' 'Dance While The Music Still Goes On' Trust me; you will not regret reacting to those.
So every Frida lead song is boring for you or why don't you suggest one single Frida lead? Almost no reactor does reactions to 'Our Last Summer', 'I Let The Music Speak', 'Andante Andante', 'I Wonder' or 'One Man, One Woman' for example. And of now 24 ABBA reactions at this channel only THREE were Frida leads while there were ELEVEN Agnetha leads. But it seems more and more that both, the viewers (at least most of them, related to the suggestions they make) and the reactor of this channel are not interested in Frida leads. So I think I won't follow this channel any longer.
Thank you. Love your reactions. Talking of kissing please please please look at Kisses of Fire ( live Switzerland) Also as a contrast Disillusion He is your brother (live) Dreamworld I’m still Alive ( Wembley live) Thank you
May I suggest that you go by recommendations for videos of ABBA - especially live recordings. If there is not a recommendation for a song I am sure you will get lots of recommendations on here. Having said that, it is great that you find just the music excellent😊 There are so many ABBA videos on RUclips (they seem to recycle) that it would take a long time to watch them all - I am retired and I do!
The thing you said about someone said something in the comments, that you wanted to mention, but didn't remember, perhaps you can just take a screen shot (or make a note), so it's easier to remember, if it's something you wish to perhaps comment on in the next reaction video.
