in this video tutorial, we will be talking about the methods used to observe the angle of deflection in moving coil galvanometer.
there are two methods.
1. one method is used in suspended type moving coil galvanometers. this is a lamp and scale arrangement. a and scale are placed at a distance of 1 m from the moving coil galvanometer. the mirror is used to reflect light. now when current is passed through the coil, the coil rotates and hence the light spot moves on the scale. the displacement of the spot on the scale is directly proportional the amount of current.
2. the second method is used in pivoted type moving coil galvanometers. a small and light pointer is attached with coil which gives reading on the scale.
