    Mahesh sir, even though you don't work for khan academy anymore, I want to remind you that you're one of the best teachers I've ever seen. My high school physics teacher did teach us fabulously but there was just some concept something that lacked as to why I couldn't truly grasp the concept. But you sir make physics flow through my veins. RIDICULOUS to me how you do it. I'm glad for you to teach me sir.

      so ,if only a very few amount of current is passing through the galvanometer then how can it measure the whole current? isn't it rest of the current going through the other way?
      so reply sooon my frndd

    If u already knows that 10A current u have to measure nd u have to extend range of Galvanometer according to it... Then, what was the need to measure it u already knows 10A current flows through it

    • @sushantnepal7581

      10 A is the limit.
      but now we can measure any current from 0-10 A
      previously it was only from 0-10 microA

    ok one practical question, do we need a fuse in series with ammeter where 10micro ampere flows through just to protect our galvanometer as we are feeding in 10 Amps? ofcourse 10Amps-10mAmps is theoritically flowing thorugh shunt resistance, but what if practically less current flows through shunt resistance?

    Sir that means GALVANOMETER can measure a only A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF CURRENT (in micro A) so we need to pass the remaining current through a SMALL RESISTANCE connected in PARALLEL so that galvanometer CAN MEASURE CURRENT WITHOUT GETTING BLOWN UP RYT???? ...
    ALSO WHAT IS THE FUNCTION OF GALVANOMETER???

    • @zawarudo100
      @zawarudo100 3 года назад +2

      yep that's correct and the function of the galvanometer is to detect the presence of current.

    A doubt .why not we connect a resistance in the path that goes thru the galvanometer in such a way that only upto 10 microamp can enter that path.

    • @Logadharani
      @Logadharani 3 года назад

      Coz we need the remaining current too

    • @chijinkumar7995

    I wanted to ask a basic question. Why doesn't the shunt burn/fuse? Because huge current is passing through it, and as we know heat (H)= i²rt, so well by this logic, it should heat up to higher temperatures if kept on for very long time right?
