- Join us on our Alaska Adventure. We are traveling in a 2003 seventeen-foot Road Trek van from East Tennessee to Denali National Park in Alaska.
I am traveling with my 84-year-old dad in a 20-year-old van. 6 weeks and 10,000 miles of rough roads and rugged country. Make no mistake it is an adventure, not a vacation. A lifetime of memories and experiences.
Week 2, we traveled into Hyder, Alaska which is the southernmost town you can travel to by car in Alaska. The road only goes 5 miles into Alaska. Saw my first grizzly bear and saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Then we went to Steward, Alaska where we rode the White Pass train and ate very fresh fish at a local restaurant. We ended the week at Deadman Lake Campground.

As absolutely beautiful these photos are, I know from traveling through mountains, there is a feeling in your soul you try to capture in film that can not be replicated. You always remember it inside, though.

Absolutely awesome. All those mountain ranges. Love the waterfalls even the frozen ones. Love the lakes. Hopefully it was as great of a time as it looked. For sure breathtaking. Your dad looked like he belonged there with that bread & hat. And the music...your daughter did a fantastic job of choosing the right music.

I see at the 4:32 mark on this video that you saw a grizzly bear by the side of the road. I'm sure they told you in Alaska that the way to determine a grizzly bear from a black bear is by the large hump just down from his neck. I LOVE your videos and am so happy you've had a wonderful trip. When I realized you hadn't posted a video in 8 days, I got a bit worried yet relaxed when I remembered that if God has ANYONE tucked safely beneath His wing, it's YOU, Becky!! Kind regards.

When I was way younger we drove to Bozeman Montana from Az. Went through Yellowstone on the way home. Thought Montana was the most incredible place but now I'm thinking I might change my mind 😂 as your videos have inspired me to see this place before it's too late. Prayers for a safe trip home.

The Earth, one of God's greatest creations. who can deny the natural beauty of nature? The majestic eagle, a tiny puppy with adoring eyes, an erupting volcano, spewing fire and ash? There are so many examples that it boggles the mind. Myself, I'm not religious, but it makes me think, " I know that there's no heaven, but I pray their aint no hell".
