I met Elizabeth Sladen when I was an extra on Sarah Jane Adventures for the second time in April 2010. It was for the 'Nightmare Man' episode. I even showed her how to use a coffee machine which was on the crew table outside Cardiff High School, where they filmed the school scenes. She was very friendly and down-to-earth. She didn't have a single hint of self-importance or pretentiousness about her. When we were about to film the results day scene, a number of us were sitting on some sofas near the entrance of Cardiff High School and Elizabeth sat with us and spoke to us all. She thanked me again for showing her how to use the coffee machine and then she asked us all where were were from, how long we'd been doing supporting artist work for and what time we'd arrived in Cardiff. Even she got shushed by the crew as they were going for a take! Her death was shocking because it wasn't long after her diagnosis and it was only a year after meeting her! :(
Elizabeth Sladen the iconic companion worshipped on set by so many as "Oh god I'm doing a scene with Sarah Jane Smith" ...and she was still worried about doing her best, being good enough, fitting in with the cast, just being a good actress on the day ... missing that that was the main reason she was held in such high regard ... she was a good actress, who did care about *this* scene, did care about the rest of the cast. all of them, because they were all important ...
@@EternalPayne Oh I see the moral majority have come out to judge. 😂 John Barrowman has never committed or been charged with a crime of any kind except hurting fee-fee's.
Where was this held? Thanks for sharing. Didnt Elizabeth experience getting more to do when she returned in school reunion and on her own show the sarah jane adventures.
@@pferreira1983 Would you rather the show continued being dead and existing only in audio and a set of increasingly convoluted and lore-heavy books far too obsessed with the "mythos" of _Doctor Who_ and not with telling, you know, fun adventure stories that are actually filmable? Also, I will not hear a bad word said about Our Lady of Chiswick, Donna Noble.

“We had a laugh together...” Very English and understated 👏🏻
That is British English, we say we had a laugh

Rose Tyler and Sarah Jane Smith = The 2 most iconic companions.
Yeah💗💗 Missed her so much.
Definitely. They both did so much for the show.
Although I think if there was to be a (possibly distant) third, it might be Captain Jack Harkness!
@@andrewnotondrew2508 this didn't age well
@@EternalPayne Yes, it did. The three of them were fine together. Don't care about whatever happened with Jack Harkness with the 13th

Wonderfull words from Billie.
Beautiful words
Great upload! :)
I loved Rose. Sarah Jane was ace.
Sophie Aldred was Ace, but yes indeed.

She was very humble. In my opinion she didn't like all the attention she got. She got it because she was #1
🤗
'as good as the character of Rose'
Pissing myself laughing.
To St alright chill
i just can't
I know what she meant, and of course its great they were both honest, but it just sounded hilarious the way Piper phrased it.
@Brendon Checkley The companions in the new series aren't exactly that great are they? They turned Doctor Who from a sci-fi show into a soap opera.

She sounds way more English than I thought. Was a complete chav in doctor who
Billie's not even a Londoner in real life. She's from Swindon in Wiltshire!
She will always be are rose
Elisabeth Sladen needn't thought her character suffered compared to Rose considering how terrible Rose was as a companion.
Rose was the best companion
@@nousallons4118 The worst actually.
@@sph9564 Like who?
rose was absolutely amazing
Season 1 she was great. Season 2 not so much.
