I bought a 98 honda civic expecting to make it a race car when I was 16, I quickly realized how much I did not like that car and picked up a 93 k1500 with a manual transmission and a 350 motor. I truly do not think I will ever get another thing like it, I love the look of it and just the experience driving it.
Just picked up a 91 single cab long bed 4x4 4speed with OD (NV3500). 177k miles and I’m the second owner! I will own this truck forever. The first test drive down the road has me sold for life.
I actually found one exactly like urs 1994 scsb 4x4 with the original nv4500 with the low gear and power windows I seen it on Craigslist for 3,400. I bought it that day ,now I got it running Good and it's my daily driver and love it ,good luck with urs
To answer your question IMHO its a desirable truck although you can still find them occasionaly, but they are getting harder to find in good condition. I believe it will increase in value as good examples become harder to find. FYO I have basically the same truck and found myself asking the same questions. I would hold on to it. let the mods begin !! LoL
I was looking for that same set up when buying my truck. I didn’t find it so I settled for 1995 GMC K1500 short bed, single cab, V8, automatic transmission. Mine has the large glass headlights. These truck are outstanding and getting more n more rare to find.
My dad has a 1989 Single Cab 1500 Silverado Scottsdale, 4x4 with a 5 speed manual transmission. Your truck looks good especially with that wheel setup!
I have a ‘97 Z71 with an automatic 350 ci and regular cab short bed I love the look of your truck. I plan on leveling out the front and lifting the whole truck 1” to fit a little bit larger sidewall all terrain tires.
interesting, im sure its a wide range nv3500 I know the nv3500 came out in these GM trucks in 1993 before that it was a Gertrag or w/e gm corporate 5speeds. These gear boxes had a L123OD but those where out after 1992. It could be a nv4500 and you could ID it by going under the truck and seeing if the bell housing is detachable. That would ID it as a nv4500 but im sure GM used the Wide Range nv3500 in this beauty. In 1996 i think they all were sold with short range nv3500's. Especially if it had a 4.3l v6 . The low Rang or granny gear set up was popular with farmers.
I have a 89 GMC Sierra 4WD with 5 speed manual transmission shifter in the floor with manual transfer case. I love it. It’s my farm truck. I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado Z71 and I love it too. Can’t go wrong with a Chevrolet.
I recently just picked up 91 305 4x4 manual all original going off the RPO codes. has a rough body but hoping to semi restore it to something as clean as this truck looks.
My dad used to have a white 90' Chevy K1500 Z71 Single cab Sport-side 350 5-speed. Unfortunately he traded it in back in the mid 90's for a Dodge Stratus to fit us kiddos.
I’ve got the same truck but my gearshift is 1, 2, 3, 4, OD, R 1 top left, 2 bottom left, 3 top middle, 4 bottom middle, overdrive top right, reverse bottom right. No low gear
I got the same truck and only 13 it needs a paint job and stock on the wheels, i dont like it rightnow but yours is clean so was wondering what size tires you have, and if you have a lift?
LOL Yeah lots of trucks and cars used to have manual transmissions. Many people used to prefer driving a manual transmission. Many, many of those trucks had manual transmissions. There's nothing rare about it.
Darin Cooper, it’s obvious you didn’t understand the question. If I thought my pickup was possibly rare only because it’s got a manual transmission I’d delete my account right now. All I’m saying is I’ve never seen another 1994, K1500, short box, single cab, 350, 4X4, with that specific transmission(commonly in larger pickups and diesels). Yes they’re out there, but how many?
I have a 1990 k1500 with similar transmission mine just does have the the overdrive but does have the granny gear as well bought it from the original owner and special ordered it that way those trucks are rare for them to have granny gear ⚙️
From the little bit of digging on the internet I've done the NV4500 mostly came in the 2500 and up or even behind the Cummins. That granny gear makes for GREAT off-roading capability, especially when in four low.
@@damienvera3135 with rust, body damage, crashed, blown engines....Clue In. If there are "thousands" in this condition that are Shortbed, Single cab, 5.7 (350) with a manual and 4x4 in this condition, I'll buy them ...
@@biggsherm100 there’s literally thousands my first truck was one exactly like this just mine wasn’t a Cheyenne trim. And that also proves my point. It’s a base model.
Like any engine that all depends on how you treat your truck. Don't overheat it, don't redline it, keep up with routine preventative maintenance, and it has the potential to last as long as you have the truck. Just keep in mind any component has potential to fail without cause. Murphy's law.
Sorry, I have this truck for the long haul. My best friend got it new while we were growing up, sold it when we were in High School, then it ended up at a dealership a few years later where I bought it.

I saw a contractor that had one of those trucks way back in the day. His truck was long bed single cab 3spd. granny no OD.
Buddy has one exact same setup , 4x4 single cab stick shift. All the other ones iver ever seen were 2WD stick shift.
I've seen that same manual transmission in the Chevy blazers
We used to have a 2500 with a 350 and the same 5 speed used it as a plow and salt truck
Dropping a big block and manual in mine soon.
regular cab short bed 4x4 V8 manual.. yea thats rare. I've only seen a few in my life and they were automatic
I’ve had 4 of them. Same setup.
What a gorgeous truck
My dad had one just like that only white and long bed.
A bunch with 5 speeds I've even seen some that has cruise
I have stock cruise control on it but it hasn't worked in a long time. To be honest I haven't even looked into it.
My 95 has cruise and it still works
i have the same truck just a 1993 singal cab short bed 350 v8 manual 4x4 they are rare

that set up is more common then u think most people dont want a standered
1 of them is a long box 1 ton and the other 1 was in a sort box but now its in ab long box and the front and rear end is in a extend cab
I have the same k1500 truck with a manual, but on mine the transmission pattern doesn't have a low gear- it's just one to fifth gear, and reverse.
I’ve got the same truck but my gearshift is 1, 2, 3, 4, OD, R
1 top left, 2 bottom left, 3 top middle, 4 bottom middle, overdrive top right, reverse bottom right. No low gear

I got one ! Red but same exact truck
