Grampa is a straight triple OG
Goddamn, looking from nowadays perspective, what happened to the huge
variety of Japanese sports cars and coupes? The base model coupes that
were affordable for the "average" citizen? Even the sales of sedans were
based on the success of their racing heritage and had their sports
package. Pretty much everyone was about fast, sporty looking cars and
how well they did in the racing scene. Why did we evolve into this awful
period of time where every manufacturer offers full range of useless
and ugly SUVs and everyone's looking to own one, no diversity in sports
cars and coupes, forget the diversity, there pretty much isn't any at
all except for Civic, mediocre GT86/BR-Z and Impreza and the only
Japanese sports cars that's left with pretty high price tag is GT-R. So
sad. I miss 80's and 90's so badly.
You pointed it perfectly... Keep the old cars alive. Bad times are already here.
they died because no one bought them and many Americans disliked the fact that most of these imports had no torque, they apparently never understood part of the enjoyment to revv a car all the way to the redline where you expect the most shove at the top..and part of the reason they were so fun to drive is because there was basically no sound insulation or safety equipment in there...no one would a car like that today. The 86/BRZ is perfect, it is truly the best representation of this type of car you are talking about for the biggest audience at the lowest price point possible while still providing moderate comfort.
regardless the scene is coming back...the 86/BRZ is not mediocre in any way and has spawned a lot of new enthusiasts and tuners..subie has kept it going with the wrx & sti, nissan still has their z, honda has kept their SI coupe & sedan, it was only 2 years ago when the latest evo died, the miata has become better and better, ford has done great with the fiesta/focus ST and focus r and mustang, etc...
people who long for the past are a bit blind...the engineers and scientists that work for these automakers are enthusiasts too but they recognize everything needs to continue to evolve for the better..
It died because there economy hit a downturn and they really havent recovered. When they started to try and push again they were rocked with a tsunami which made it tough on alot of the auto industry. With all of the new regulations on emissions and want of a high ride height for some retarded reason is why we dont see the same cars as back then. There isnt any good affordable rwd cars out right now the closest one is the Caymen. Need to bring back the 240sx Integra MR2 etc. The 86-BRZ is good and all has an amazing chassis they should do one with the turbo sti motor. Its sales are really low showing why companies dont care about this area. There are so many great platforms real enthusiasts can build for cheaper then a new car and are so much faster as well. Id love to throw a k/j swap in a is300 or 318 for a fun car.
People became dumber and more brainwashed, they don't care about how a car feels to drive anymore, all they care about now is psoing and improving their status amongst their peers with SUVs.
What about the NSX?
hattori has a record of miss shifts on the show haha.
Agreed.! 😆😆
@OCD Stig ooooh snap !
(crack and pop)
Prelude didn't win but had the best lap time by over 1 second to the Integra.
Lovin the preludes even 20 years later!
for those of you wondering, this is basically the GSR Integra in the States
But with about ten more horses than the states version..
+WeightPull ChAmP because it has no egr system.
More like VTi-R in Australia, 179HP same as JDM model. I've got one!
scareyaf nice! how many kilometers she got?
This video is the shit I still have my 1995 Integra GSR with the original b18c1 block... I have a B16 head Type R cams tuned with old-skool hondata S100. Just needs a paint job but I don't want to make it look too good because then the thieves are looking for it still runs like a champ! Woohoo
I still have my original 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC. Only 80K miles. Fast car. Thanks for the video.
nice I have one with 200+k miles still running good but has a f20b motor.
I'm at a stalemate I have a 95 prelude in perfect condition and pressures on to sell would love to keep it but money's tight killing me to let it go!
Patrick Clarke sucks,I been having mine 8 years plus now.
Wow im envy
I wish i could get my hands on a mint one
I heard those 4th gen Si vtec Preludes were only second to a NSX at the time.
丸目から角目になった直後のSIR-Gに乗ってました。もう一度乗りたいなぁ
Thanks for the upload I really appreciate the English subs! My new fav channel!
prelude ran a full second faster than all the other cars even with the misshifts...
Prelude still a overrated car though. Can't even run with the type r's. Even the jdm sh are slow.
@@effingwrecked1917 how is it overrated? It's underrated. It doesn't get as much love as the other hondas and it deserves it
@@prussianaudios1432 don't mind the clueless imbecile Preludes hater.
@@effingwrecked1917 was there a type r in this race?
Dj Tezro its not built for this, the prelude is the dd where the integra is the fun car
nice upload man, the subtitles are awesome.
Gansan killing these kids since way back! Nice upload!
All of these were great cars; shame none are around today besides the Civic. Great video and fun to watch.
Prelude is the real winner and the best in corners
We need to see different drivers behind the wheels it seems to me like the Integra would be much better set up its lighter it has the type R Heritage behind it and it's been a race car for many years, you don't see too many preludes in the same 🚢. Prelude is still a very nice car but the Integra is definitely lighter on its toes I've owned a 2000 type sh and I still have a 95 GSR
Greatest showdown of that generation EVER !! Thank YOU !! They are all GREAT CARS !!
The Honda Prelude and Integra look so good racing on Tsubaka 🔥👍
This was the dawn before Honda’s VTEC engines and Type R variants started to dominate every small circuit/racetrack.
all 3 Honda's in this video has vtec
@@superjervis But the type r is faster than all 3 Honda's
Awesome ! Love the cc too, thanks ^^
thank you for these
If there was 1 more lap the prelude 4th gen would take it
The Toyota levin has a supercharger and has 170 ps, while the Mitsubishi is the cyborg R, DOHC MIVEC, 175 ps, though I was led to believe the eg civic was suppose to outperform its class?! I'm disappointed,
The poor gear change on the prelude is responsible for its 2nd position.
Grandpa killin it in his walking shoes!! Lol
The impressive car is that 4th Gen prelude imo! 🇨🇦👌🏻
I love how much fun they have while racing :D
Japan had the bug eyes for 2 years...
Yeah they consumers didn't really like it, so they eventually gave it the face lift we all love today.
In germany we only had the bug eyes right? Kinda disappointing
Yeah, likely due to traffic laws similar to the US, we didn't get the facelift because it didn't meet the requirements. It needed to fit a bigger impact bar.
I like the bug eyes 👀 🤣 the jdm front end is growing on me too.
awesome!
I only watched this because of the Prelude. :D
me too :-)
me3 . had the fastest time anyway even with the poor driver
Same
me to lol
@@endlesstwisties Hattori is hardly really a poor driver, just miss-shifts occasionally
Vintage.💐 Always..👌 here☺️
went according to plan.
Wow, it's identical to my 1995 GSR.
Gan-san driving an Integra become kinda unbeatable
Did Gran Turismo 1 come out before or after this? Music at the "Goal" is so familiar. ;)
+TassieLorenzo I'm pretty sure the Gran Turismo racing style was heavily inspired by Best Motoring. GT was released in 1997. This video was filmed in 1993.
miroshi i just love best motoring and i love gran turismo 1,2&3
Right now im driving mazda mx5 roadster endurance race haha (gt3)
Integra ❤
I love the two comments "bad grandpa Gan-san" and "the Levin's engine with supercharger is no good" hahahah
What was Tsuciya driving?
Is this the equivalent of a GSR?
FerrariFast 14 Yep
i watch it cause i have the same color gsr lol
h22!
I only came for the prelude
I see a prelude, I click
As much as I remembered this always happen when I drove my gsr 5:05
The 90s were the Japanese automotive industries at their best.
Damn the Prelude would of won the race if the dude wouldn’t stop miss shifted. On the straight away that h22a is fast not even that the lude is fast on corner also
GanSan is an OG
this guys ALLWAYS breaking gearboxes
2019 год.
did anyone notice it has a usdm front end
that's because they originally came with but was unpopular so in 96 they changed over to other style headlights.
thumb up for vtec
Prelude in this video is have 4ws system ?
SaveGeneralsLCD I would really like to see an AWS model race! was AWS even designed to be on the race track or was it a niche idea?
I don't know
NotAsian it was designed to make the car faster as well as easier to manoeuvre. I've had all gens of 4ws preludes (1988 Si 3rd gen, 92 vtir 4th gen and my current Sir 5th gen) The 4ws was very aggressive on the 3rd gen and took quite a bit to get used to it could almost drive around in circles, under 60kmh the rears turn the opposite direction to help swing it into tight parks etc and fly around intersections lol, over 60kmh the rears turn the Same way just no where near as aggressive to basically have the car glide with minimal body roll when pulling out to pass etc. It was definitely turns right down on the 4th gen, apparently alot of people crashed the 3rd gens because of the 4ws and how much it swung the ass end around at low speeds, pitty really but it got better with the 5th gen, not as active as the 3rd but alot more then the 4th. Hope that helps
Na, the JDM si VTEC had 2ws and an LSD, I know cause I still have one : )
never imagined that a prelude would be faster as an integra
the Prelude would have won if it did not start in last position, while the integra got to start way ahead. Prelude VTEC FTW !!
Prelude was always the best N/A for corners except NSX. People on internet talking shit don't really know too much
Prelude would've easily won if the driver naoki hattori did not mis shifted twice. Gan san in the integra was driving beautiful smooth and faultless + the integra had a really good start.
Gan-san is a legend
1993 with a B18C this is possible? any source of this?
Cars always come out before we get to the year so this was the 94 integra lol.
In Japan the g3 integra was released in 1993
To bad they dont have a Honda Legend 3,2 coupe there to
Jimmie Nilsson that Would have come last
no spoiler prelude baby...fast through corners without spoiler...
EG hatch :( how could you
Japan really told Honda “Nah yo those round headlights aren’t it!” and got the one piece headlights after for the Honda Integras lol
Anybody else ever look at the mileage on the cars? 3700 miles.... brand new cars. Imagine buying an integra GSR or type r brand new
What happened to the sir civic? Is 170 hp and 2300lbs, I had one and it was faster in a straight line than my friends prelude srv. Weird.
+testing316 lol in circuit is different
+testing316 You're friend had a slow prelude.
testing316 what is weard..is you not understand how racing works
hung huge yup I would never lose to a stock b16 even in my h23a1 160hp prelude
gan-san's shoe game tho
Is that faster den gsr?
JDM Integra SI V-tec has 10 more HP then the USDM Integra GSR. so yes JDM Integra SI is faster
The dude who was missing the gears was awesome.lol
個性的なフロントマスクで話題を攫った3代目
3:19 so that's were the "fail" trend originated from.
服部、毎回シフトミスしてる
I find it very odd that the B18 in it is so good, but it looks like a LS model integra. I guess looks can be deceiving.
i know that now, when i typed this before i didn't understand i do now.
What's Plan grandpa?
1.6リッターに2.2と1.8で買ってホンダスゲー
ずってこうだなベスモと黒沢
That eg6 shoudnt be left behind..something wrong with the driver
It's a SIR-2, not the EG6.Eg6 has better handling.
The guy driving the prelude sucks lol
He's still a better driver than you and all the people you know.
Yeah cause you know me and all the people I know
Anthony post
That's Naoki Hattori, and who are you again?
+apexdna truuuue
Anthony post you wouldn't be able to even see him in front of you after the first corner you don't have the skills to, and you had to Touge him, you'd be in a ditch crumpled up in your car.
As a 4th gen BB owner it makes me happy that's the only car that proved truly impressive was the Prelude.... on that integra within 2 laps and started last. That's downright impressive
Poor Poor eg hatch *sniffles* how could u
シフトミスさえなけりゃあ
この後に280馬力軍団を脅かすインテグラが発売されるのであった…
I only watched this cause it’s VTEC!!!!
パーマン笑
Lol the prelides 3rd gear lol
Odd spec. It's a JDM Integra but looks more like a wingless North American spec Integra GSR
change the crappy stock bridgestone tires on the teg and it will beat all these by no less than 20 seconds
@@MrBluePoochyenaIntegra TypeR it's faster because it's tuned straight from factory. Vs stock Prelude with soft suspension built for comfort . Tuning vs Tuning Prelude was always a much better car than fanboys wet dream Integra. Jun Prelude destroyed any Integra or Civic was competing against
@@justanothertroll9205 That's why the H2B conversion exists for the 90s civics can't hit 9000RPM's on an H22A no problem get a more aggressive valve train with thicker cams and rods for support and an oil-pump and ECU .
