Were the French on something ?, anyway there was a game in Wellington in the 80s Kirwan was running down the line with the ball and Mike Clamp was committed to tackling him and he did, Kirwan managed to pass the ball then set about beating Clamp punching him repeatedly in the face ,still remember that incident .Kirwan must of taken what the French took, that wasn''t a normal fight a cowardly attack ,used to see forwards do that not backs ,like it was personal.
