@@ryans413 Indeed. I have a Walthers track-cleaning boxcar I run around the layout every few months to give the track a once-over. And I actually do have a couple pieces of steel track, on old TYCO accessories (the Lighted Signal Crossing and one of their Lighted Bumpers at a logging mill), and they do the job nicely. BTW, the Walthers Trainline sets now instead come with nickel-silver Power-Loc roadbed track (which Walthers got from buying out Life-Like).
my question before purchasing this kit is. if I bought a locomotive that was equipped with sound would there be an option to turn the sound off of the controller? and also will the horn and bell sound still work from the upgraded locomotive with a sound chip?
It is a Railer. you can rail a train (put it on the track) but a wagon can only be Re-Railed once the train has been removed or de-railed. Railer, no Re-railing here.
I bought one and what you fail to mentin is that the rollinstock is really bad non removeable trucks plastic wheels and couplers that are not very good and for the price I think there could be better rolling stock included and that track and controler are not that good either
FASCINATING!!!
Pretty neat, but I do wish these sets would come with the nickel-silver Bachmann E-Z Track instead of the steel version.
Both are fine just clean the track. I’ve had the steel alloy track for years and had no issues

katpis As long as the engine is DCC, it should be able to be controlled with NCE or MRC DCC controllers.
Nice like Bachmann
Cool
What he didn't tell you is that the controller is a Digitrax Loconet product.

Whatever. But if you want to get technical. The official name of that particular section of track is a re-railer.

Why would they mentin that the rollinstock is really bad non removeable trucks??
