Plato was always going to be a marathon! Congratulations! What a hero! I find it an interesting detail that Socrates' dream re a swan reminds me of the story or legend of Zeus taking the form of a swan to impregnate Leda, who birthed Athena, and also Isis and her identity as a swan. The constellation Cygnus spans the Milky Way across the 'Dark Rift' which was believed to be the gateway of souls and the portal to the Cosmic Mind. I feel the wisdom of Plato and his fellow philosophers in that era was both the bringing forward of a (nearly) lost wisdom and the precursor to many socio-political/religious doctrine, but the wisdom became diluted and distorted, sadly, and is now scarcely known.. Thank you for bring it back to centre stage. So much to ponder on. I loved your personal poetic input. What is your opinion on the authenticity of Critaeus's account (from Solon and the priest at Sais, and through Plato's maternal grandfather Dropidus) of Atlantis, attributed to Plato? I have discovered that there was an 'elder' and a 'younger' Critaeus and the origin of the legend is mostly confused.
I've always loved white swans. One might wonder if this is what inspired H. C. Andersen to write The Ugly Duckling 🤔 Yes! Without philosophy and reason we're easily manipulated. This is a big part of the reason we started this channel. Those old books don't resonate with modern people, but their content still do. We'll get to Atlantis very soon. I have pages of notes and a list of several possible explanations. Personally, i think it's the Americas, but it's *far* from definitive and mostly just a feeling. I also won't go full Joe Rogan and assume there was a highly developed ancient civilization 😄
