- Dante's Inferno is one of my favorite games to play through since it's based on one of the greatest books I've ever read. It's a great way to tell the story of Inferno through some gameplay that is similar to older God of War games, but it offers more than just being a clone of those games as well.

Ya know, a two hour video essay about all the differences between the game and the original story would be a pretty Fringe thing.
I think it would be a pretty short video. The game uses the Inferno as a very loose structure with pretty much no crossover other than names.
@Linkswolfform what about the part with the big booby lady who's got evil babies crawling out of her nipples, that's not in the original cantos?

Most people will if they don't have an xbox, and tye ps5 isn't backwards compatible with ps3 games. And don't you even try to emulate it if your pc isn't an absolute beast

I vaguely remember there being a game on Facebook that has ties with Dante's inferno and by "playing" it you could get the game.
It's no masterpiece, let's be real.
But it is entertaining for sure.
I'm a Catholic and i find this game great and the design we're sick and amazing. Still mad that Christian and Catholic try to boycott the game due to have a Hell theme.
Oh and the competition for marketing,you could say it's a total SIN. Cuz' y'know the challenge is like a dare to follow all those seven deadly sin.

I really wish they got to make that sequel. It was such an interesting take on the book sprinkled in with some things based on how the crusades were. I dont think there's anything like it still. The game knew what it was, and it did it well. It was also one of those games that you could do multiple playthroughs because it's fun and short, like Gungrave.
I had the psp and xbox versions, and they surprisingly were one to one with each other. There was little they had to change about the game to make it work on psp. They just changed the combat to accommodate one stick.
I remember being so pleasantly surprised by this game. And the Lust portion of the game will live rent-free in my head forever.
I remember I played this game at a friends birthday party sleepover, hell it was the day the colts played the saints in the super bowl and this game stuck with me after all these years. It was pretty freaking awesome
Bro, I remember that Superbowl like it was yesterday. I lost a bet with my brother when the Saints won and he STILL gives me flak for it
The way his character design had a tapestry sewed on his chest to remind him of his sins and to repent for it is so fckn metal
I played that game on ps3... shame it never got remaster treatment but the gameplay was fun. Liked the diverse skill tree based on how you played.
As someone who played this game for the first time I considered this game to be a hidden gem because the gameplay was so fun and I do like how the game handled the skill tree

I wish they did make a sequel showing purgatorio, some of the depictions of angels in The Divine Comedy are twisted beyond human comprehension. Could've been a great sequel.
Back when I played it, I thought it had an intriguing tie-in with the divine comedy, and im glad someone made a game out of it, a pretty kick-butt one too if you ask me.

I really enjoyed this game, personally. It didn't do much particularly special, but it did enough right that I 100% it and still have fond memories. Not fond enough to go out of my way to replay it, but that's still more than I can say for a lot of games.

This game was so good. It was back when EA actually made new IPs. It's one of my favorite games of that generation.
What better way to celebrate the holidays. Is to play a GOW clone made by Visceral, based on the Divine Comedy.
I remember buying/playing this game when it came out and I was AMAZED by the story and the action had my 14 year old brain quite stimulated for hours.
Alternatively, if you want to be a clone, do it right.
And DI did so.
It'd have been fun to see what you'd do in Purgatorio & Paradisio.

Got me a new ps3 so I can finally play this game (my old one always crashd at certain games) and for the most part I enjoyed it... except for the bit before the final boss, these trials, like not getting hit. Those where optional in god of war, they where basicly there own game mode and they really should have been this in this game too. I would like to replay it some day but this one bit always scares me away.

I loved the game just for the aesthetic direction alone. Everything else was just icing on the cake. I'm still upset we never got that sequel. Probably would have been fantastic.

A remaster would be fantastic, especially since God of War went in a different direction. I would love to play this on my Switch.
This is my favorite game in the God of War style. I think its purely because of its setting.

I think the premise of adapting to the Divine Comedy was a bad idea for a video game. I played the game and I can see why some people think it was a god of war rip off.
I've seen and heard about Dantes inferno the game, but never played it, but I did watched the animated movie which I thought was based off the game by the scythe and design, but I see it's a bit more different than the game, still cool though😄

The only game I never finished! I kept being beaten by the final boss! Long after i sold my xbox, went to college and became a pc and nintendo player, until i got a ps5!
