"Pernil" is the back of the pig, which has more meat. It is marinated in a special sauce for a long time and then put in the oven. Accompanies a sauce made with onions, peppers...all handcrafted. "Estadão" is because the building next to it was a newspaper called "O Estado de São Paulo", which was commonly called "Estadão" augmentative of "Estado". Enjoy!!
Christian took me to the Mercado Municipal in 2017, and we tried the mortadella for my first time. It was incredible. I even ordered a second one and took it back to our hotel. Looking forward to ordering it again when we go back to Brazil in May. (Eric)
Estadão - the name came from the newspaper 'Estado de S.Paulo' office which was near - is an icon on São Paulo's night as it only closes once a year at January 1st, so it's a 24/7 open place where you can eat this famous sandwich at any time of the day so late of night you can see cops and bike riders making a stop there for a sandwich and IMHO, is far better than the mortadella sandwich and it's a pity you didn't film all pork legs pilled at the entrance. I remember once (before the pandemic) I'd asked how many pork legs (pernil) daily they made and the guy said around 30 to 40 in a normal day... and near Xmas time I saw someone buying something around 20 pieces! By the way, mortadella is a italian kind of sausage from Bologna area and yes, it cames with the italian immigrants...
Even though I am Brazilian, I am taking all your travel advice. The "all you can eat" restaurant in the other vídeo is so dope! I have to go there and try
I'm gonna pay a visit to Estadão Lanches only because of you guys xD what an amazing content you're creating about our beloved São Paulo. Thank you so much for sharing our things and places with the rest of the world :)
Hey guys... My family and I really liked your videos. It's funny that you made your videos about Brazil in English, mostly for other foreigners, but there are so many Brazilians watching and loving it. I can see you've been to many of the main "must go places", like downtown (Centro de São Paulo), you've been to one of the main financial streets in São Paulo (Paulista Ave.), you visited the Oriental neighborhood (Liberdade), you've tried some of the best sandwiches of the town (Mortadela at Mercadão and Pernil at Estadão), and you even had some "Feijoada" in some random "Boteco" (street pub). We are sorry for the fraud that you guys suffered from the fruit dealers when you first visited the Central Market, but we also felt incredibly happy when you went to visit Gustavo's family during Christmas Eve. I'm glad that you liked our parks with our native "Mata Atlântica" flora and to tell you the truth, what we liked the most is that you've been to most places that we like to go during our walks. There is even more ground that you guys can cover if you take the subway, because the city is huge, and we have all kinds of food here. I work as a Bar manager called "Tatu Bola Itaim" which you should visit for sure. There you can have the true best "Caipirinha" that you ever had, and I double dare you to say otherwise after you've tried it. Besides, there will be a lot of Brazilian finger food to try, especially the "casava cubes" which we call "Dadinho de Tapioca" is a must-try! Come and hang out! It will be a pleasure to meet you guys! Oh... I almost forgot, talking about São Paulo's dishes of the day there is also "Virado a Paulista" that you must try. That's a Monday dish and you can easily find it in some of those "botecos" downtown (Centro). But if you want some local help, just let me know. I was born and raised here in São Paulo, so I'm a pure blood 100% Paulistano and I know the ways of the city! Look me up on instagram.com/cfg4.0/
If you're still in São Paulo theres some places that I would suggest (i'm still binge watching your Brazil videos so I don't know if you're already went to some of these lol) - There's a small nice italian neighbourhood near República, called Bixiga. Theres a lot of antiquary, a small glasses museum and glass shop called Gioconda Giannini, some theaters (Teatro Oficina, Rute Escobar e Teatro Sergio Cardoso), and classic italian restaurants there, I think you would love it! - If you're looking for nice architecture, I love the library Mario de Andrade (he was a famous poet), a pretty cathedral called Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Consolação, Sesc 24 de Maio which was projected by a famous brazillian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, and the Copan building, by Oscar Niemeyer, everything very close to each other. Loving the videos! All the best xx

Fico muito feliz que tenha dado certa dessa vez de vocês experimentarem o lanche de mortadela.
Enjoy!!
Which one do you prefer?🍔 Pernil or mortadella???🤔
Perniladella
🤪
Vocês precisam conhecer Ouro Preto, uma cidade histórica do país situada em Minas Gerais.
Christian took me to the Mercado Municipal in 2017, and we tried the mortadella for my first time. It was incredible. I even ordered a second one and took it back to our hotel. Looking forward to ordering it again when we go back to Brazil in May. (Eric)

Eu amo vocês dois , apaixonado !!
Haha, really nice seeing you wearing Red Star t-shirt you bought (I guess) in Belgrade :)
Hey Warriors, this made me hungry!
Take it easy on the brazilian pepper, add little by little.
Have a nice and safe travel around here, enjoy.
Amazing sandwiches!!!. I found your channel because you appeared in Rio4fun channel. Kind regards from Uruguay 🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾
Can you overnight one to Mississauga...mouth watering!! Keep safe, healthy and happy
No no no, but to Indonesia.
Even though I am Brazilian, I am taking all your travel advice. The "all you can eat" restaurant in the other vídeo is so dope! I have to go there and try
You guys could visit, Paranapiacaba, a small British village in São Paulo.
I'm gonna pay a visit to Estadão Lanches only because of you guys xD what an amazing content you're creating about our beloved São Paulo. Thank you so much for sharing our things and places with the rest of the world :)
We think you’ll love it there! We have eaten that pernil sandwich maaaaany times since filming our first time! 👍
Esse casal é sensacional 💯👍👍
Wow I love this Restaurant .They have a perfect "Beirute" sandwich .
brazilian food, is are gold. Tops everything.
You should ask for the pernil sandwich with pururuca, best secret order from estadão
If you're still in São Paulo theres some places that I would suggest (i'm still binge watching your Brazil videos so I don't know if you're already went to some of these lol)
- There's a small nice italian neighbourhood near República, called Bixiga.
If you go back do Estadão, you should drink the Cerpa export beer, pilsen. I love the combo: Cerpa + pernil sandwich.
I’m from Brazil! São Paula! However, I’ve been living in the us for the last 22 years! The way u guys describe food makes me feel like getting in a plan back to São Paulo immediately!!!
can you find Brazilian food where you live?
Ai no mercado municipal tem o pastel de bacalhau, vale muito a pena vcs experimentarem....😋😋😋😋

You definitely should have tried the culinary of Minas Gerais, that’s by far best Brazilian food you can ever dream of!
Nice video. Like your videos so much
vocês vão ficar em São Paulo até quando? to amando o conteúdo 🤩

Steve, next time you go pork to skin, consider a camisinha! hahaha. I literally cannot believe Ivana's chili capacity. She bit an actual chili at Estadão. She's gonna love northern Brazil food. Why choose a favorite? Can Pernil and Mortadela coexist? Boa guerreiros !!!!
Ivana took not only one, but 4-5 chilies there🌶🥵
Que lugar lindo
Estou com fome 👋👋👋👋👋❤️
