"Professionals have standards"
"As long as there's two people on earth, someone's gonna want someone dead."
Helmet hat doesn't matter when a bullets penetrated your helmet or hat, sniper don't care helmet or hat kills a kill😅😅😅
@@trevorlewis847it's a reference to a video game called Team Fortress 2 where a character, the Sniper (an Aussie) wears said hat
Basicly when they holded the gun the gun wouldn’t fit because the hat will block the gun so they pinned the hat up so the gun would fit
At 2:09, the word "weather". The way I remembered the difference between "weather" and "whether" is that weather and climate both have an A. Weather has to do with climate. .
I have a slouched hat pinned up on the right side that I've worn in the past, it's never something I've incorporated into my regular wardrobe though. It was mostly for showmanship in my wildlife educator days.
The modern Australian army calls it a KFF or HKFF if your from NSW or VIC
I can remember being issued a KFF class 1 and 2. The class 1 was for parades and class 2 for the field. This was in the early 1990’s.
Its an akubra hat *slouched
1835 VICTORIAN MOUNTED POLICE WORE THIS HAT, YOU MISSED YHAT ONE
I love Australia and the slouh hats!!🇦🇺
I’m just confused on how this guy predicted rizz
Wow what an amazing and informative video
Wow this is a great video
Loved the video. Quick comment - your a bit hard to hear over the music.
I have a question, can you actually wear a slouch hat with the puggaree removed in civilian clothes? Cuz I'm a Hong Konger studying in Australia and I bought a slouch hat just to avoid the harsh Australian sun and add it to my army hat collection. It's quite weird to have people looking at me wearing it. Should I even bash the hat as well?
Of course you can.
Yes you can and more power to you. From a retired Aussie Armoured Corps digger. Hope you have a chin strap, keeps the hat on in windy conditions. I still have mine with emu plumes from when I served. Probably best to wear it with the brim flat and not folded up, you will get less odd looks. And keeps the sun off you.
Good stuff
Is the new background because you got evicted?
Because if you're in need of a house don't forget that this great nation recognises squatters rights
Mate keep it up this is some good shit you arr doing
Tom Price saw the Burmese colonial police wearing it. Some fuckwit had the dopey idea of placing the badge on the front. Wasn't there in my day . Looks untidy
Such a damn cool hat! Does the Australian navy and air force also wear them?
@Waffen SS Soldier 1 That sucks, thnx for the reply!
RAAF and Navy are also issued the Khaki Fur Felt hats. They do not have the brim turned up at the side though and different coloured pugarees. For a time the RAAF hat was blue.
Yes, RAAF non officers in England in WW2 serving with the RAF bomber crew wore the slouch hat with brim turned up. I bought one in England with the RAAF albatross in place of the Rising Sun badge. I still have it. These days, RAAF wear it brim flat not turned up. same with RAN. In the 1960s, RAAF had a pugaree with one fold dark blue. very practical when wearing it in the heat of Butterworth Malaysia where the RAAF had permament airbase at the time.
German soldiers in WW1 in East Africa wore slouch hats too! I've seen period photos! Probably wore them in New Guinea as well which was a German colony til the Aussies forcibly took it over in 1914 after the outbreak of War. The German Commandant was given a whipping by Aussies for having ordered the whipping of an Aussie missionary prior to Aussies taking over! Photos of this event on the website of the Australian War Memorial.
From a retired Aussie Armoured Corps Digger. Still have my issue hat with emu plumes.
The "plume" traces it root's back to the Light Horse, which Mech Cavalry and the Armour are descended from
The RAN also had a VERY dark blue hat with a blue plastic crest (enlisted) and gilt metal (CPO and above) crest on the front with a 2 fold navy blue puggaree on it
The RAAF had a grey blue hat (that's all I remember.....didn't know if there was different creases or the puggaree colour)
Both were worn down
By the time I left the ADF even our army wore the brim flat, due to skin cancer ligation
Richard, I hope the skin cancer is in remission. @@richardcostello360
Do you have a runny nose?
