You should be proud of yourself Steve of the accomplishments you’ve had and how far you come. As I was listening to your story along with the lady I felt the sense of being proud for you. Thanks for bringing us along!
Hi Terry, good to hear from you again! Thank you for the kind words. I enjoyed the interview. I was invited on the show because the interviewer (Lisa Wexler) saw a 1/2 page story about my escapades in the local Waterbury Republican American a Connecticut newspaper. It was a good story written by their sports writer. Thanks again and have an awesome day, Steve
Steve, thank you for sharing. that was a very nice video. And like always, you always inspire people and you are wise. Great person, listen to and like always. I can't wait for your next video adventure adventure. It doesn't matter if it's just saying hello, and ride 50 or a 100 miles. Have a great day, steve.Thank you once again
Hi Werner, thank you for your comment. It's always great to hear from you. I hope everything is going well for you and your family. This week I'm visiting my kids and grand kids in Florida. Going for a 10 mile ride on my daughters bike. Have an awesome day, Steve
I had no idea you were so near the Berkshires. We are up here in Cheshire, MA and thanks to you and the GCN channel, I'm riding my new bike at 71. First rides since the 90s.
Hi Laura and nice to hear from you! Good to hear you are back on the bike. Hopefully you are able to ride the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. It's a favorite of mine. Keep on pedaling! All the best, Steve
Thanks for the channel Steve. Just retired last month at age 68 in Omaha, NE. Part of my retirement plan is a TREK Domane AL5 as a tool towards improving overall health. Short-term goal is a century ride with my "baby" brother (age 66) next summer with longer-term goal of better health and longer life. Look forward to following along as you highlight your biking adventures. Appreciate you!
Hi Bryan and thanks for sharing! Congratulations on your retirement. You will work toward and accomplish your goal of doing a century with your baby brother. Slow and steady with plenty of water and lots of breaks. Thanks again for your kind words. Take care, Steve
Thanks Thomas! I hope you're enjoying your nice new bike. Just try not to get any speeding tickets. Nothing like a light road bike! Take care my friend, Steve
Very good! As someone who is turning 69 years old, I agree with your comment about speed and racing. Now retired and living in SWFL, many cyclists here ride much faster than me. I'm still searching for other riders my speed. 🙂 Thanks!
Hi Craig and thanks for your comment. Slow and steady keep our health going in the right direction. This week I'm visiting family in Melbourne FL. Would love to ride with you but it's a busy week and you're probably too far away. When I'm hear I borrow my daughter's bike for a daily ten mile ride. Going out for my ride in 15 mins. Nice pic of you at mile marker 0. Thanks again and have a great day, Steve
Thanks Steve, it was really nice to learn a little more about your background. 10 or so years ago, I lived in Vernon and would go off on my motorcycle up rt.44 through Winsted. It was a beautiful area, especially with the changing leaves. Since then, I have retired from industrial business development, lost 50 lbs., took up plant-based diet and bike riding. Plus, the BP has dropped a lot. Loving it all! Best wishes to you and Jan to be safe and stay healthy.
steve i ride a 25 mile route with 1600 feet of climbing and limited traffic but i just love my route and i really dont feel like exploging even though there are many great routes....im 70 and have been cycling 40 years ...and i m on strava i dont see anyone else doing this
This year it was June 22nd. They haven't announced the schedule for 2025 but it should be around the same date. It's a good time and we stop at Whole Foods in Avon for lunch.
