German nut wedge/ Nussecken, a good & old German dessert. I never really paid attention to them, because of their ordinary appearance. There is definitely a reason why they happen to be in almost all German bakeries and people just love them here, especially kids. They are simply delicious.
They're sweet and nutty. The rich dark chocolate and sour apricot jam can balance the sweetness from the shortbread and caramelized nut layer perfectly.

1/2 tsp baking powder
100g sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 egg
90g butter
for the topping-
125g butter
125g sugar
1 pack bourbon vanilla sugar
200g hazelnut flour
100g almond flocks
150g apricot/ peach jam
100g dark chocolate
