It looks beautiful, we have a clawfoot tub, and we used the same product that you used, which was about 4 years ago, and it has held up really well. It still looks great, it wasn't the easiest to do, but I am well satisfied with it. We originally used a different product that we found at a hardware store, and it did the same thing your tub did. We had to scrape it all out, too. I can't wait to see your bathroom when it is all finished.
I love your videos. You give such wonderful ideas and suggestions. I bought a house seven years ago and thought the tub was new, because the bathroom had been totally remodeled. A neighbor said no I think it’s been reglazed. So I grabbed all those products that you said to get. I am so thankful for you. I love seeing you and your husband do this together . Also, I saw that green and cream or green and white wallpaper on a chair. I love that for your bathroom. !
What a beautiful bathtub renewal!! We have the same type tub. I need to redo mine as well. Now I know I can try doing it myself. We had it done for us last time. Thirty-five years ago 😂
Good luck if you tackle this one! Glad your old finish lasted 30+ years! This kit says it should last 15-20, and I bet extra care can extend that a bit.
This is an incredible amount of work for a "beginners" project. Kudos for your perseverance. The bathtub looks stunning for the very fact that you did it yourselves.
Sarah, it came out amazing! I still think that dark blue wallpaper would be beautiful. I didn't think so until I saw it on your mood board but it's so Stunning ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial, much needed for one of my projects just the Laboratory sink. I wouldn't want the tub to go through the floor. LOL...❤ a good job looks good ❤ I'm sure you guys are going to enjoy it
The tub looks great. Wonderful job. I don’t think I would have waxed the tub tray directly on the tub although I know you would want us to see you do it. I would have waxed it on a protected floor after all of that work.
Thank you so much for the tutorial on the claw foot tub. I have had one sitting in my garage for about 5 years. I want to do it but I was so afraid to. Now I might give it a try
That is beautiful! You and your husband did a great job! Your finishing touches on the tub tray along with the sconces are perfect! I love watching your videos and you are so inspiring. I always look forward to your adventures! Tfs❤
Refinishing the tub was a lot of work but so worth it…it looks awesome!! Like you, I like options, but having too many options, especially in the area of wallpaper, can be overwhelming…hope your wallpaper decision comes easy! 😉😀🙏
*Tub Re-glazing* . Ten years, when I was putting my 1970's built colonial on the market, I didn't have the budget for bathroom gut jobs. The main bath tub and toilet were powder blue with a few blue accent tiles a midst the 4x4 speckled white. I replaced the toilet and vanity top. I used the Rustoleum tub refinish on the tub and blue tiles. It wasn't perfection but did an overall good job and neutralized an eyesore. I hired a pro to re-glaze the shower and harvest gold 4x4 wall tile in the primary bathroom. It took several days and the fumes were awful. The diy tub actually held up better than the pro job on the shower. I'm sure these products have improved over the last decade. It's a very budget friendly option and will hold up especially if you are mindful with your surface prep and after care products. Even with a whole house water softening system, hard water was an issue. Taking the time to squeegee/towel dry after each use eliminates the need for using harsher cleaning products for maintenance. It's a small inconvenience and everyone using the space will need to get on board, but, worthwhile for preserving the finish.
I am looking for a Bolesławiec,(pre 1946 Bunzlau) wash stand. I live about 40 minutes from the pottery in Poland its a dream to visit with all the factory shops and antique shops. Nice restaurants too.
Wow, I was just researching this pottery! It’s so beautiful, but I will probably never get to Poland. I follow a lady from Belarus that found some at a flea market and I thought it was very pretty.
We've been renovating our kitchen, which involves resurfacing the sink. A first for me -- and it was a lot of work -- but it is curing until Monday. Praying all the cleaning, sanding, priming, painting, and waiting will be worth it! If it is successful, I'll have the courage to resurface our almond colored 1980 tub next!
@@SheHoldsDearly I cleaned it with comet, then lime away (we have hard water), then vinegar and baking soda. I then sanded it with 400 grit sandpaper, wiped it down clean, then primed it with Stix. Lightly sanded, primed again, lightly sanded again. Wiped it down, prayed, and used Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy spray paint x3 coats. That was Monday. It said to allow it to cure for 1 week. I'll update you on whether or not it worked! Your tub looks beautiful, btw! I'm currently trying to pick out wallpaper for a corner in the kitchen. Still undecided!
@@SheHoldsDearly so far, so good 👍🏻 I'm hoping it holds up for a very long time. $40 vs a few hundred dollars means I can allocate our funds elsewhere for the project. Plus, it has boosted my confidence to tackle our tub. ☺️
Hi Sarah! Was there a trick for getting the cup out of the drain? And, did you just tape around the overflow drain? I have a clawfoot tub that needs a refresh! This looks like a good choice! Thank you!
I'm so happy to see this video. We have a cast iron tub that needs this treatment, so i was hoping you would share this process. I think hubby as nd i can do this. Yay! Is your house completely remodeled/restored now? We started with our restoration 5 years ago, and we are still at it. But, what an awesome "hobby". Thanks again, Sarah!

That was such a wonderful video. The patience it took to reglaze the tub is amazing. Where did you get the Aberdeen Heather Jar? I cant wait for next week. I would love to have a dresser vanity!
Thanks for the info, my daughter and her husband want to redo a Cinderella tub in their MCM house. I’ll send her the link to your video. The styling on the tub shelf is beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend using the silver cup for the bath salts, as they will corrode it, especially leaving it in the container.
It looks so nice. So much work but definitely worth it. Everytime I see the large glass canister above the cast iron tub I cringe at the thought of it falling off and shattering in your tub. Please tell me it's velcroed to the wood. 😂
So lovely. Lots of work, but great results. We have a built in cast iron tub, thankfully in good shape. Our kitchen sink though, ugh! Do they have sink kits too?
That turned out absolutely beautiful. I have a question about the shower hardware. I’m redoing my bath and wonder how you like the shower and hand held combo. I love that look and would like to know where you purchased it. Thank you ☺️
@@christinairizarry879 We have one and I would not recommend it if you have very hard water. There are so many curves and crevices for the hard water deposits to sit, but ours sits on a bracket near the faucet and there’s another shower head.
