    I think playing the same ball consistently is of greater importance in terms of control and scoring, than playing the most optimal ball. As long as you get really familar with a ball like trufeel, and you've got experience with how much it rolls out and how it flies, then the lack of greenside spin and so on isn't a big deal for anyone over a single digit handicap

  • @leeloopatsy
    @leeloopatsy Год назад +9

    Players with a handicap greater than 18 have absolutely no interest in playing with a Pro V1. They will not play better, they will not go further and they will be very annoyed when they inevitably end up losing them. The trufeel is a perfect choice.
    On the other hand if you have a decent angle of path and angle of attack, if you hit more or less on the sweet spot and if you have a swing speed (with the driver) of at least 90 mph then the Pro V1 is definitely one of the best golf ball.
    Thank you for this interesting video.

    Great video. Been playing tru feels for about a year now. The greenside spin is definitely noticeable when comparing to my playing partners premium balls but as I like to chip and run the ball it works a treat for me. Great video!

    New subscriber here. That's about the fairest take on the Pro V / Trufeel balls that i've seen on RUclips. Excellent work, and i thought your summary was right on the nose (at least from what i've seen from my own game). One other quick note: The cover of the Trufeel ball is really tough. It'll take a beating and maintain performance much better than the Pro V's. Assuming you don't lose balls, you'll be even better off $-wise with the Trufeel.

    Historically played ProV1 but don’t play very often anymore and bought these with no knowledge and was very surprised by performance especially as a value ball. Feel soft but perform shockingly well throughout range of clubs. The RUclips reviews confirm what I felt even with top golfers so at my slightly slower swing speeds I don’t think I could find a better value ball. Visually seeing Titleist logo is also appealing which is a mental thing but that is golf and brings confidence

    SENIOR golfer here, 9 handicap - the tru feel is best for my game off tee and around greens, play lots of golf in wind on links style courses where have to hit lots of approach shots on front of green and bounce on, but if try and fire in at pin with a pro v hits and goes over the back, also most around greens hit lots of low running chips with 8, 7 irons and hybrids, still get a good roll out with the tru feel which get used to and adjust. as for pitch shots into green, after time can adjust to the hop and bounce of tru feel.I also play tru feel, AD333, & Q star all play same for my game.
    Also club golfers note that the only ball I ever seem to find in rough are Pro Vs, and ahvent brought any for about 5 years.

    Former Titleist staff player here. I used to play the Pro V1*, which was amazing! I cannot work out why they discontinued it; however, when I mess around with the left - X vs. the regular X and just a Pro V1 these days, it is getting harder to tell the difference between any of them based on feel, and I don't have access to a quad or trackman on a regular basis. I really enjoyed this in-depth statical review, just earned a new subscriber.

    btw guys if your concerned about the difference in ball speed, this guy has a really high swing speed, and is hitting a low compression ball. If you have an average swing speed or even slower, the trufeel will probably go further for you.

    • @Spudsmachenzie1
      @Spudsmachenzie1 4 месяца назад

      Exactly right. His swing speed is pushing the ball beyond the limits it’s designed for. If you are hitting the ball 300 yds, spend the extra money on ProV. If you hit it 250 or less, you’ll get and extra 5 yards out of the TruFeel. As you noted this is due to the compression rates.

    I just bought 2 dozen TruFeels and am looking forward to trying them out. From all reviews I've seen, they should be a good fit for my game. I like a soft feel off my putter and am anxious to see how they roll for me. Thanks for the review, good stuff.

    I've used the TruFeel quite a bit. There is absolutely no way I'm paying the $60 per dozen I just saw this weekend at Scheel's for the Pro V1x. I keep within 4 or 5 strokes of par per nine and TruFeel work just fine for me.

      That's why the most found ball in rough and trees is ProV, have not had to buy a ball for 2 years just find everyone else's.

    Use Truefeel on your recommendations good and consistent, find the cover cracks quickly in the cold.
    Yes soft is slow lol
    Just trying few different balls now.
    As my golf improves after my Iron and Driver fitting I finding that the Tour response feels good on the face.
    Also started to get ball to check more.
    I need to fully commit myself to each shot!
    Thanks Ross

    Only 300 yard drivers I made were with Trufeels and not Pro V. At 105 MPH it produced the correct spin to keep the ball airborne.
    I just adjust my chips and pitches you adjust for 15% more rollout.

    Just looking at numbers, especially standard deviation, the true feel looks slightly better. Your swing speed overpowered ball w driver, but avg player would probably play better true feel would likely be better. I purchased these for 15 year old son and he plays great with them. Just ordered 240 more of them as he plays 4 days per week.

    Thanks for doing this video, it confirms what another video showed. There they also compared these 2 balls with velocity and avx. Trufeel was better and its cheaper 👍
    Perhaps another place to test would be a simulated bunker shot.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  Год назад

      Thanks bud! Yeah it's a very good ball 👌👌would be great for so many amateurs.
      Not sure you can really simulate a bunker shot tbf 🤔 plus in all honesty a bunkers really the only place the face shouldn't be touching the ball at all so performance shouldn't differ too much 👍

    • @77bovi
      @77bovi Год назад

      @@epgolfstudios we still want spin out of the bunker, but I can now see how it would be inaccurate to do in studio since as u pointed out the club doesnt touch the ball at all sometimes. But I'm sure for the longer green side bunker shot where one tries to take less sand, the club does touch to some degree?

  • @frankzayas3103

    I like everything about the Trufeel except for the green side spin or lack thereof. I like a soft feeling ball. My swing speed with the driver is just under 90, sometimes I can get around to 92 but most of the time not. But I am a good short game player and can make it it check and stop pretty quickly on chips when I am using the right ball. I can tell a big difference in performance between different balls. The Pro V's and PXG balls work best for me in that regard. Encore Aeros are also up there with them. I refuse to pay what ProV's cost, though and they feel a bit too hard for my liking. But in every other aspect I really like the TruFeels. Especially the red ones because That's really the only color I can see from strike to landing any more.

    Ross, Ping have an online ball fitting tool (ballnamics) which is based on very comprehensive real ball flight data, unfortunately it’s currently not available outside the USA (ignoring workarounds).
    I personally play Pro V1, although I know it compromises my peak height and land angles (my username explains why) I much prefer the feel and short game performance.
    With my modest swing speed, I find the low compression ‘budget’ balls have significantly higher peak height but lower spin pretty much through the bag. Good for carry but not great for control.
    Keep up the good content and hopefully the channel will continue to grow.

    Nice, thorough review!
    Quick question: at the video's beginning, you show a closeup of the TruFeel ball with markings indicating it's the 2020 version. Is that the ball you tested? The 2022 and 2024 versions are different balls and have different markings.
    I've had decent success with the 2020 version, but had results similar to yours and was checking in to see how much the ball has improved since its first iteration.
    Thanks!

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  3 месяца назад

      Hey Steve, it’s definitely not the 2020 ball as I would have only ordered them within the last 8 months or so. Could possibly be the 2022 one maybe but it should be the latest one as far as I’m aware

    • @stevenagy9441
      @stevenagy9441 3 месяца назад

      @@epgolfstudios I'm intrigued! Perhaps there's a difference in the markings for the ball overseas?
      I'm unfortunately not able to attach photos of the markings of the balls which have changed slightly over the years. But my own experience and a Google image search for "TruFeel model years" confirmed my hunch. The markings at the sides of the logo were originally a single line (like the one your video shows), then changed to double lines (2022), then back to single lines that are more pointy in 2024.
      Thanks again for all you do!

    Soft is slow so it’s driver and chip shots. Trufeel launches crazy high on chips which better players see. Higher HC may not notice as much but it’s just weird around the greens imo

    11.6 handicap
    Played the AD333 for few years now. No real complaints, maybe lose 1-2 balls a round if that. Can’t see me ever going over the £2 per ball price point.
    Have always been interested in a proper professional ball fitting. I just believe they are too hard to find and get to here in the UK.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  Год назад

      Tbf the new AD333 is pretty good. The old one uses to be super low spin which isn't great for most amateurs.
      Yes I agree! It's just almost impossible really. As a proper ball fitting would need to be outside off turf with a trackman. You'd need literally hundreds of balls, obviously all of the different balls, and really a private range/short game area. It's possible but would cost a lot! And you're never gonna make much from ball fittings 😂

    Great vid…I’ve historically used tru feel as it is super soft off the face of the putter which I like…and performance seems pretty much identical for someone of my standard (10hcp)…I do use proV from time to time but only when I buy them from the ‘nearly new seconds bin’ for £2 a ball…works out the same price as the trufeel.
    As an aside…do you know when you are getting the new t150 irons in for fittings?

    I play the truth feel yellow. I have tried the pro V one but to me it’s just a little hard and I do have a slow swing speed, but I prefer a softer ball plus I can handle the price other than that I don’t know if I would ever try to pro one again unless I found one I’m going to just stick with the two thank you for the video.

    New video suggestion : everyone thinks the tsr1 is for slow swingers, but Nelly Korda gamed it and recently ditched the stealth 2 hd to go back to the tsr1. Seen a test where tsr1 was just as forgiving as the famed g430 max.
    Could you kindly do a high swing speed tsr 1 review at 9 , 10 deg? and if possible vs the stealth 2 hd (better yet with the ball Nelly uses).

      Don't even think I showed you any club delivery data points in this video. But in any data set number 1 I wouldn't ever be delivering 5 degrees of loft difference set to set, that's so huge I couldn't even if I really tried to. And even if I could I wouldn't show it as comparable data as it wouldn't be fair. In my tests I always make sure it's a very fair comparison
