Hey Chris love the channel! Guys the golden ticket is to soak that rubber in a bucket of warm soapy water first. Install it soapy wet then use the window to put in position. Super slick and gentle on everything. Use it for all weatherstripping installations.
The other tutorials I’ve seen have all been with electric windows involved but I have manual windows and it looks so much easier! Thanks for this how-to!
Thanks , That was a good video on that window channel rubber molding replacement. Great info o how to do it. I never had to do that yet on my car but maybe in the future.
Ty! Bottom weather seal kept coming up and I figured out it's cuz that seal isn't good or there anymore so the window goes up too far and pulls them out.. just ordered some new seals to put in :-) I think I can handle it we'll see.. lol
I'm really impressed with the fit. Went on butter smooth as it seems and no trimming to fit or anything. Especially at the corner by the door handle or around the mirror(especially on 87-93 cars). I use the Daniel Carpenter(one of the top brands to get)brand and even though the fit is good there is some struggle as well as some fine trimming involved. Too bad there is no brand on the packaging.
Any info on a convertible run channel weatherstrip ? Found a 15' peice laying in the bottom of both doors. Can't find anything . Guessing you would have to cut those to fit..??? Great information and demonstration as usual !
That's a really good question! If it's an 87 or older yes you could.. I'm not sure if the design was different when they changed the mirror and glass style in 88
The 🦊 master ! Do you know what would cause the driver side window to rattle when it’s rolled down ? There is quite a bit of play in the window side to side.
Got a 93 from miami, did the drivers side a month ago, dreading doin the passenger side, didnt get a chunk bigger than a square inch above the window line, took me an hr just to get it all out, install was just as bad even with the paint mixing stick trick lol
I just did the Bronco rear glass run channel... you aint lyin... Cheap rubber requires work. I'm hoping the summer texas sun will help the final seating of the crap rubber I bought! BTW, this Texan THIRSTY! You buyin' this time? :-)
On my quarter panel windows, they are pealing pretty bad. Would I need to sand it all down smooth first? I ask because its rubber and not metal/aluminum like the rest. Also would it be beneficial to give it some clear coat also or would that not look great? My window runs are just like those, not looking forward to that. 🤦♂️ But I am just finishing up my first complete motor rebuild from top to bottom. Hoping to fire her up this week. Only drove it like 40 miles before the bearings spun, so have yet to enjoy her lol.
That's awesome you'll have it soon on the road again. You will need to sand your quarter window moldings or use a polyester filler first depending how bad they are. Don't clear coat them.
@The Infamous Project awesome thanks! Of course I found your video on that after I sent the message. Definitely thought I would have to buy new windows. Hoping to fire her up this week. 🤞 From spun bearing to mounti donar to looking brand new. 💪Between your videos and a few others, thank goodness for RUclips. 🤣
Totally off subject, have replaced both window motors awhile back, but now I get popping from my driver side door. I'm seeing the window regulator going out. Any other fixes/band aids other than replacing them? Thanks for any information.

Ya this one was quality and didn't need any fancy tricks which was nice
That's a great tip, thanks!
Well done, the best shown and explained way to get it down inside the door. Thanks!
Thanks!

Really great job on everything Chris, really good how to video. Just a awesome job, doesn't look as how as i thought.
Awesome, thank you for sharing! I have to change mine out too. Great tutorial as always!
Great video, painting the trim is next on my list to do

Next on the list👏🏼
On Monday I start my weather strip on my car, ordered from LMR hope they are okay.
As usual, very informative
I'm definitely going to paint up my trim this spring had the car running the other day for the first time this year she fired right up
Great video my friend. I should make you do the ones on the 88 I got from you. They are stiff and brittle as potato chips!
Well at least they are manual windows now so makes it a little easier lol.
Your video was very helpful... Thank you for sharing...
Awesome video! Thanks

I’m really likings those wheels! It is fit the stock bolt pattern?
Do you recommend the same procedure for the mirrors?

Missing guide plate most likely at the top near the door lock.. usually has felt on it. Or bad regulator?
Fairchild industries make perfect replica drip rail and moldings that are far better than LMR Daniel carpenter brand.

Ya man I hear ya
A little bit of glass cleaner can help a stubborn channel slide down into place.
How do you do the fronts on a 1986 convertible?

Check the main bushings that run in the tracks and make sure nothing is getting caught
Great video. Question, other videos I’ve seen require you to take the window out or is that only for power windows?
I've never taken a window out to install on any variation
Looks like you nicked your hand Chris! Part of the job eh? I have done a few of those as well. Much easier with the manual windows for sure.
Ya I'm always cutting myself on these cars...
Wish I had someone like you help me with rebuild my 1988 lincoln mark 7
What is the brand that you used? Maybe I missed it in the video.
There was no indication as they came with random parts. With that said, I believe they were Fairchild from Rock Auto which are currently out of stock
I've been putting this off for months lol
rubber like people gets crusty with age
