Studio explanation: Xmen and the Avengers were all comics under Marvel but different studios bought the rights to different heroes when the comics were doing badly financially. So Fox had Xmen and Sony had Spidey and a few other heroes. A few years ago Marvel got back the rights to most (if not all) the heroes Fox had. So a new Xmen is coming to the MCU. Hope this helps :)
Literally leaving out the Fantastic Four, marvels first family. The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and X-Men were all sold to Sony because Marvel went straight up bankrupt in the late 90s. This is why Blade is technically the first marvel movie followed by FF then X-Men.

Yeah, Marvel was nearly bankrupt so they licensed the rights to make movies to various film studios. So all their characters were split between large corporations when the superhero movie boom happened. X-Men were at Fox until Disney bought Fox in 2019, and that's how Deadpool is coming into the MCU soon. (Sony still has Spider-man, it's still a whole confusing thing!)
Fun fact about Scott (Cyclops) powers. Its more of a force blast than lasers. I don't think they get into it in the movies. But his eyes are essentially a gateway to a different realm that just shoots the energy from that realm if i remember correctly and they just push things around instead of burning them. Magneto's ideology is not wrong at all, his execution is what is completely wrong, usually. That's what makes him one of the better Marvel villains, he's relatable.
I feel this is a common misconception. Magneto does not seek peace or equality with normal humans. He thinks mutants are the superior race and should dominate or even exterminate humans. Even if humanity completely stopped persecuting mutants Magneto would still fight for mutant supremacy. It's ironic when you think about it. Magneto was the victim of a genocidal dictator and now he aspires to be a genocidal dictator so that he can avoid being a victim of a genocidal dictator again.

The success of X-Men: The Animated Series is the reason why they made the X-Men live-action films. This is one of several movies that started the live-action comic book movie craze that we have today. This is one of the films I can say in my opinion had a heap amount of perfect casting. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, and Hugh Jackman among several have aced their respective roles. Marvel Studios is developing a continuation of X-Men: The Animated Series. It’ll be under the name X-Men ‘97. Most of the original voice cast reprised their respective roles, and the story picks up where season five left off. The first season of the continuation (which is the sixth season overall) is premiering in the new year. A second season (or seventh season overall) is in development.
Keep up the great work can’t wait for the rest of these. Keep an eye out for end/post credit scenes like in the MCU but just remember, they’re not as consistent in the X-Men series
Most superhumans actually have a suite of abilities that allow for their primary power to function properly without causing harm (or at least too much harm) to themselves. Imagine having super strength without durability and punching solid matter...that would suck. Or Super speed without also having accelerated perception and reflex would make it useless since you wouldn't be able to navigate. In the case of Marvel's mutants, many of them have multiple powers or their primary power can be used to achieve a variety of effects. Wolverine has animalistic mutations that present as three abilities: an accelerated healing factor, heightened senses that allow him to not only detect danger before others do but also hunt more efficiently and his claws which are actually made of bone but was covered, along with the rest of his skeleton, with adamantium.
Nobody said a mutant could only have 1 power. Logan's powers are the regeneration, heightened senses, and a set of bone claws. His skeleton was coated with metal after he was an adult, turning his bone claws into the blades we have here.

As a fellow peer of the comic book world.. My introduction to comics didn't start til I was around 7 or 8. But to help you out with the names of the X-men.. There's Professor Xavier, Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Beast, Iceman, and Colossus. These are the main ones you hear more about in the comics and movies.. But there is a ton of others throughout the years in variations in the comic timeline.
That the movie opens up (bar the intro monologue) with the Holocaust is pretty much an indicator of the general tone, I would say. That is essentially WHY Magneto is the way he is; after the horrors he has been through, he simply cannot believe there is any way other than war, and the only way to keep his people safe is by absolutely destroying any potential threat that can repeat the things he knows humanity does at its worst. To him, the CAPACITY to do those things is an inevitability; unless he destroys any potential threat as mercilessly as possible, they WILL destroy his people. If you're thinking in terms of the Sokovia Accords in terms of the Mutant Registration Act, that's not quite the situation; its in terms of constantly threatening mutants and making them known to people who openly hate and fear them, and regularly erupt in open violence towards them. Other X-Men works more bluntly state that identification is the first step towards genocide, and the Act is that first step, identifying mutants. (This is, after all, the same government that in the comics regularly creates destructive killing machines that seek out and slaughter mutants on a mass scale, with very little public outcry or concern from anyone other than the mutant population.) I also have to disagree on your feelings that Xavier should have let that guy die; the first reason is that this is what make the X-Men superheroes; the unwillingness to sacrifice ANYONE, whether its their people or not. Making moral compromises like that goes against everything they stand for. The second reason is that when Xavier DOES make decisions like that, he EXTREMELY RAPIDLY gets way, way worse than Magneto ever could. You do NOT want Xavier dropping his moral compass. (That's technically how almost the entire superhero community was killed this one time.)

Some interesting X-men history i thought u'd like @DonTownsend : X-men comic books and its concept was thought out to be a paralelism with racial discrimination in real life, specially in the USA in the mid 1900s. A minority of people getting ostracised and discriminated against just because they are different. And we get to see two different ideologies clashing through the series: The man who thinks both should live in equal terms, working together to better the course of human species (Charles Xavier), and his friend of old (Erik Lehnsherr, AKA Magneto) who (due to having witnessed the horrors of WW2 and being in the concentration camps + seeing how his race (mutants) gets treated by humans), believes that one race should be above the other one (mutants>humans). Is the first superhero series i got into when i was a child in the 90s and remains one of my favs. SPECIALLY Magneto who is genuienly one of the first BADASS supervillains i ever saw: dude was OP strong (specially in modern age where EVERYTHING WE BUILD is some sort of alloy of metal), smart and had a vision.
Rogue's hair was turning white because the machine was killing/ageing her extremely fast. Magneto did it for a very short period of time just on Senator Kelly so it didn't affect him so much.
Marvel Entertainment (the publisher of the comics) licensed their characters out to various studios in the 90s and 2000s. When the movies like Spider-man (Sony) and this one (X-Men, Fox) became box office hits, Marvel Entertainment only made a small portion of the profits. So in 2008 Marvel Studios, started making their own movies with what was then considered to be the "leftover"/less popular characters. "Iron Man" was the first. It was a hit and made a lot of money for Marvel Studios/Marvel Entertainment. The "Marvel movies" you have been watching are Marvel characters adapted to film by Marvel Studios. Spider-man, the X-Men including Deadpool, the Fantastic Four, Blade are all Marvel characters made into movies by various *other* studios (Fox, Sony, New Line Cinema). I don't know if that clears anything up. Disney bought Marvel Entertainment (and Marvel Studios) in 2009. Then they bought 20th Century Fox in 2019. So now the X-Men going forward will be part of the Marvel Studios movies. But they weren't when these X-Men movies came out. (The first mutants to appear in the MCU were Pietro in "WandaVision" and Charles Xavier in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", but the first real X-Men movie made by Marvel will be Deadpool 3.)
Why didn't the cop with the bullet slowly going into his forehead just take a step back? There was literally nothing stopping him from moving, but he just stood there and took it 😂😂😂

I would love to sit in a room and talk x-men and there place in marvel with. Wolverine actually first debuted in a Hulk comic. He and the hulk have a hate/hate relationship together
Wolverine;s powers are the healing ability and the claws.... the metal however was "DLC" so to speak. Also thats he he told Rogue that she didnt save his life.. cause if that guy HAD shot him in the head, all that wouldve done is pissed him off and hurt for a few minutes, before he violently murdered that whole room lol. As for that dirty thing you were thinking.. YES she could definitely do THAT with her mind too. As for Jean Grey liking Wolverine.... yup in the comics him and cyclops would always fight (literally) over her and love triangles, drama, etc etc, currently in the comics theyve finally got their shit together and all 3 of them are in a relationship together lol. Also Rogue drains peoples powers not necesarily their "life" though if its a human it WOULD kill t hem.... so thats why she didnt die, cause she touched Wolverine and HIS power is healing so by touching him she was able to use his powers to heal herself, and since Wolverine can also heal himself her powers dont kill him, if she had touched a mutant that DIDNT have healing powers then she wouldve still died and killed THEM too. Magneto holding Wolderine was a teaser for the comics, in teh comics Magneto just rips wolverines entire skeleton out
Marvel Comics owns both the Avengers and XMen but to different studios owned the rights and a Army of lawyers made deals and basically split characters that's why Scarlett witch / Wanda was an avangers and Quicksilver ended up Xmen while twins.
Wolverine was born in 1832 & did fight in the military & was involved in the US Civil War, Vietnam War, Both World Wars, Was There for the nagasaki bombing & d-day
Fuuuck yes. From the holocaust to gay rights. The spectrum of representation that X-Men gives is amazing, literally watching British actors give Malcom X and MLKs arguments that inspired me in the early 2000s to be a better person.
Everyone has her/his opinion of course, but frankly, I think the franchise did go down with every movie from each trilogy. More battles, more special effects, but the story become duller and duller (in my opinion). I really love this 1st one, and the first one from the other trilogy (First Class).
It’s because of who owned the rights to the characters likeness in film back then but, marvel only recently got the rights to X-men and mutants when Disney bought fox. You have seen them in marvel tho wandavison had the X-men quicksilver from the fox movie.
People probably have said it by now but Disney didn't own all of Marvel, they still don't own stuff like spiderman that's owned by Sony, and they just got X-Men when they obtained fox
Alright I'm hyped for this! For clarification yes X-Men was made by Marvel but there was a time when the company was going through hard times. So they sold Fantastic Four and X-Men to FOX and Spider-Man to Sony. Under Disney and some business shenanigans though, they're all under the same roof, bringing X-Men to the MCU next year I think. They also have some of the best cartoons from the 90s to Evolution, I'd recommend either of them
Marvel Comics also sold Hulk to Universal. Which led to Ang Lee’s Hulk film, and Edward Norton’s The Incredible Hulk was a negotiated connection to Iron Man with the end credit scene. Universal will not allow MCU to do a solo Hulk film because they own Hulk-but he can be a costar or cameo, like in Avengers, Thor Ragnarok, Shang-chi, and the She-Hulk series.

Magneto holding Wolderine was a teaser for the comics, in teh comics Magneto just rips wolverines entire skeleton out
Wolverine’s actual name is James Howlett, he adopted the name Logan which was his Father’s name “Thomas Logan” and wolverine is his x-men and nickname
"Aww man" LOL Ikr?
Marvel Comics owns both the Avengers and XMen but to different studios owned the rights and a Army of lawyers made deals and basically split characters that's why Scarlett witch / Wanda was an avangers and Quicksilver ended up Xmen while twins.
My dude thumbnail is funny he out here with the Derek Zoolander look
The crazy thing about Wolverine is that he doesn't die or age he's over 100 years old
Wolverine was born in 1832 & did fight in the military & was involved in the US Civil War, Vietnam War, Both World Wars, Was There for the nagasaki bombing & d-day
“Ill probably be dead by the 30th century” Yeah you think?
Her hair started turning white because she absorbed Magneto's old ass energy.
Magneto is trying to make humans Mutants
My dude, all the characters are Marvel but the MCU is a separate universe to the Deadpool & X-Men films.
The X-Men franchise is AWESOME!!! I Love EVERY MOVIE!! ❤ Please watch them in order!
16:28 Yes....yes she could 😂😂
Fuuuck yes. From the holocaust to gay rights. The spectrum of representation that X-Men gives is amazing, literally watching British actors give Malcom X and MLKs arguments that inspired me in the early 2000s to be a better person.
Cant wait for Don to get omega confused about the whole X-Men timeline :D (or the many of them that there are)
We in 21st now, Fox!!!
She can take their abilities for a short period of time
You need to see 1 jessica jones 2 daredevil 3 luke cage 4 iron fist and punisher 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awe man.... Played played played 😂😂😂
Watch "Wolverine vs Hulk" it features Deadpool 💡👍🏾
This is an amazing franchise. This is the one that started. It all gets better and better. The rest are a must watch once you started this journey.
Everyone has her/his opinion of course, but frankly, I think the franchise did go down with every movie from each trilogy.
More battles, more special effects, but the story become duller and duller (in my opinion).
I really love this 1st one, and the first one from the other trilogy (First Class).
Have fun with this amazing series
It’s because of who owned the rights to the characters likeness in film back then but, marvel only recently got the rights to X-men and mutants when Disney bought fox. You have seen them in marvel tho wandavison had the X-men quicksilver from the fox movie.
I've never been but the Canadian side is the better view of Niagara Falls from what I hear
Notification Gang! 🤙🏽🔥
He might be a wolverine but he sure is a dawg
We're so close to my boi Deadpool 🙃
16:27 we know Don and yes she can 😂
W been waiting don
I hope you are going to react to Shang-Shi in your mcu journey.
Don x men is marvel but its not part of the MCU (marvel cinematic universe) x men is marvel legasiy hope that makes sense
we're in the 21st century lol
Who else seen the new deadpool and wolverine leaks
I SWEAR I JUST FINISHED WATCHING ALL THE MOVIES FOR X-MEN
Hes in Logan too, probably the best wolverine movie to date
Probably? I'd say definitely
He needed a boho of wotah
People probably have said it by now but Disney didn't own all of Marvel, they still don't own stuff like spiderman that's owned by Sony, and they just got X-Men when they obtained fox
What was the first movie they did that has secret end credits?
I can't wait for Logan movie reaction🔥🔥fire movie, really sad but amazing
is there copyright reasons for why the movie audio is so low all the time
I like when cyclops makes fun of his clothing would you prefer a yellow spandex because in the comics that’s what wolverine wears
@@cassieo For real? Damn I didn't know they sold Hulk. Good to know
Not sure if you’ve seen it already, or have it planned , but watch X-Men origins: Wolverine , it takes place before this one
