I appreciate that mate. Guess thats the plus side of working on your own bike. The flip side is, I could never be profitable if I was building for others and factoring in labour. This is where real mechanics, skills and thousands of dollars in tools come in handy to run an actual business!
I appreciate that mate, thanks. Im not sure I classify myself as a bike builder, as much as I'd like to! Just trying to put together bikes I have in my mind and want to ride. Thanks legend.
Thanks legend! Im stoked to put together something at the opposite end of the spectrum from the blue bike, and something ive had in my mind for ages. The Black Evo is still in the garage, but has been neglected and needs a bit of work before its back on the road. That bike will probably be the next one, but hadn't decided what to do with it.
Excellent work again, just a thanks about the sidestand /shock length while bike is upright building it you dont think much about it. I am running 03 bagger swing arm and yes bottom shock mount is way out there. Also fyi i have expensive vulcan motor adapter what a hassle, had to get later oil bag as oil fittings hit trans and brake pedal, still havnt worked that out yet.Can see why frame mods to a dyna configuration are less hassle in the end .
Cheers mate. I did my blue bike using a vulcan adaptor, and yeah, there are different things to overcome. I think this way is superior though. Bit more work upfront but makes stuff way easier down the track.
@jimmyrustles8118 did you run twin cam stock oil pan or did you cut it? I’m doing the swap as we speak and I’m wondering what route you went cause it looks fuckin sick 🤘🏻
I have a 85' FXR and a bone stock 2013 street glide w 22k miles on it. Been thinking of doing a TC conversion on the FXR by using as much as possible from the bagger. In your opinion, what else would I need to buy to put this thing together?
Between those two bikes you could obviously make a fully functional bike. The challenge would be making it clean, I.e hiding all the electronic wiring etc. Realistically all you'd need is the Ramjet TwinCam conversion kit. That'd give you the cross member etc. You'd need dyna mid controls. The rest would depend how nice you want the bike. Do you want to keep the 1980s rotors/wheels/suspension on it? Probably not.
@@jimmyrustles8118 Right on, thanks much for getting back to me. Maybe I could just get it up, then do the rotors/wheels/suspension later down the line, you think?
Wow you absolutely KILLED this GREAT JOB!! Bike is friggin CLEAN
I really want to see the black n red fxr in the background ! Awesome builds! Very inspiring!
Man dude you take pride in your work & it shows! Wish there was more people like you! She is perfect!👍

Hey mate, I ran the stock pan. I've got a bunch of detailed vids / ramblings on my profile that'll probably help you

Those are 39mm fork tubes right? You didn’t change it to 49mm? Just trying to get ideas for my build
Sure are mate, 39mm harley cartridge forks off an fxdx.
@@jimmyrustles8118 thanks!
what top motor mount did you use?
standard linkage
What exhaust bracket are you using? My fxr bracket for bassani doesnt fit with 2000 bagger trans
I modified the one that came with it
@@jimmyrustles8118 got it, did it start out as an fxr bracket or it was for another model?
@@hamandswiss8926 you can't buy that specific pipe for fxr. It's a dyna pipe
@@jimmyrustles8118 ah ok, im in the process of my swap, and my fxr had a bassani on it already
What primary did you use?

@@BAsed_AFro yeah for sure, you could sort out the drivetrain, chassis, wiring, body work etc, then upgrade the other components more easily.
@@BAsed_AFro check out vulcanworks if you want to keep your wheels while using newer forks.
