Awesome video. I was changing the alternator on a 2008 Lincoln town car for a a church member of mine. The 3 wire plug was melted into the socket on the alternator and I ended up destroying the plug to get it out. I then realized I had not documented the 3 wire orientation for the replacement plug. Your video showed me the factory harness wire orientation perfectly. Thank you!. The replacement alternator I purchased was over $250 and the replacement harness plug was $40. Anyway, got it fixed. Thanks

I have a 2007 Town Car. When I got it in 2018, all was good, then the battery icon started coming on after about 50 miles. Had my mechanic check battery and alternator, all good. I checked work history and in 2015 the alternator was replaced. One night at dinner, the guy sitting next to me was a mechanic and we struck up a conversation, I told him my problem. He said that they replaced alt with an after market one and that I needed to change it for a Ford alt. Well, I took it to him, he changed out alt and, voila, no more icon coming on!

Nice job Buddy - I probably would have changed the belt also as an easy inexpensive addition even though your belt looked fine.

Best video on this, but I would disconnect the negative cable on the battery. I'm going to do mine but just replace the voltage regulator as it's less than $20. If there's no noise in the bearings. We'll see if all the planets are in alignment.
