    "Delusional confidence" is the best thing I've ever learned. I encourage everyone to learn how to backflip for a few reasons. 1. Its cool. It will impress someone (this gets old) 2. To gain air awareness (you only find out you don't have it when you need it, like falling) 3. To understand your limits better. Humans are fucking wild, but it feels like less people take advantage of it. Learning to do flips has helped me understand the mechanics of the body 10-fold, just take some blankets outside and try.

    • @francescafrancesca3554

      I think you've convinced me. I might try something similar. Thanks, stranger!

    • @waterinferno2071
      @waterinferno2071 2 месяца назад +21

      @francescafrancesca3554 I really hope I did, if you can't get over the mental block of trying the first time I'd recommend trying a side flip, most people are more comfortable going sideways than completely backwards. It also feels similar to a cartwheel so it isn't a completely foreign feeling, but you are more likely to knock the wind out of yourself, can't do much to stop yourself if you go down back first, but that's why I recommend blankets, pillows, old mattress, anything to take away the fear, cuz that's the only difficult part. Good luck and I hope I introduced you to a new hobby

    • @rchaelk2319

      @@waterinferno2071" just take some blankets outside and try."
      Yeah, great way to break the neck 😂👍

    • @waterinferno2071
      @waterinferno2071 2 месяца назад +4

      @rchaelk2319 my first backflip was on a mattress but most people don't have a spare mattress to mess up, I won't over explain what makes a safe/dangerous flip but a backflip is the 2nd safest flip you can do, 1st is a sideflip. If you mess up a backflip, just raise your hands and look straight up (relative to your body, so look at the ground) and flop from there. All of your fails will be flops or rolls as long as you bail properly. So pillows and blankets are enough to take off some nerves and give a comfortable enough crash pad. Your body is incredibly capable, it's just a matter of finding then using those muscles.

    • @rchaelk2319
      @rchaelk2319 2 месяца назад +1

      @@waterinferno2071 the 2nd safest flip you can do??? Yes, please overexplain. Idc about long texts and won't write "ugh, too long" or smth like that.
      But self learning backflips just like that seems like an extremely good and easy way for smth to go wrong. Yes the body is durable, but it's also much more fragile than one thinks. With a wrong move, which a self taught definetly will do, luckily best case scenario will be just some bodypart is twisted/or impacted (your "blankets outside" won't do much against it) or worst case scenario you land on your head/neck. Also the fact that most ppl aren't athletic enough to train backflips right away and would benefit for some daily excercice first.
      Jumping prowess is very useful and for daily conditioning I would recommend jumping rope. Jumping rope really is a heck of a conditioner and cardio. It also doesn't get as boring as jogging, bc you can always change up the styles. Pair that with some light power training (as much as your lv) and I still wouldn't recommend self taught backflips lol.

    I'd argue deep down people know this already. The only problem comes when it's time to do the work, follow the plan, stay consistent, and take action. Life gets in the way - distractions, feeling exhausted after a long day's work, temptations like social media/video games/TV, and fast food, all stray us from the path.
    For example, if I'm broke, have no friends or gf, work a job I hate, etc. the last thing on my mind is getting better at an instrument.

    • @ticktockbam
      @ticktockbam 3 месяца назад +89

      If getting better at an instrument was really the last thing on your mind, then you would instead focus your effort into improving those other aspects of your life that bother you, and only then, once you have your shit together, work on that skill you wanted to learn. The same method shown in the video can be applied for every example you listed.

    Key insights
    The key to becoming an expert at any skill is to believe that you can do it, no matter what it is.
    • The accessibility of knowledge has increased with the availability of free books and online courses, making education essentially free.
    Trial and error is the key to becoming an expert, not cramming information for exams.
    Taking good, actionable notes that are easy to understand is crucial for becoming an expert at anything fast.
    • When learning a new language, the error phase involves going out and trying to have a conversation with someone in that language to identify areas for improvement.
    * Implement what you learned within 24 hours or consider that info to be evaporate

    What makes the ideas in this video so believable and realistic, is how down to earth it is. The no-nonsense advice is a breath of fresh air, and hits the nail right on its head.
    In the end, the answers to many questions are simple and basic, which is simultaneously frustratingly mundane, and rather amazing.

    Second good job because this is like the brand name version of the method I've been trying to use. My channel and the videos all a part of it. Your version is superior to mine though because i was setting my cycle at a per project (a week to a month long on average) and the second you said once a day i understood why that was intrinsically better.
