There is no doubt in my mind that they were putting pressure on GW, but it's ridiculous to claim they are responsible. Blackrock and Amazon both have some blame - and there are undoubtedly factions within GW itself who are either supporting or opposed to further wokeification. There is clearly some level of sense somewhere in GW given that they hadn't given in on Female Space Marines already and have held that topic in contention, but whatever voice was shutting that down did not have the oversight to prevent Femstodes - or it slipped past their radar.
