@@Professional-struggler That would be really good listening to the old guys escapades back in the day, people need to remember once they are gone they are gone no getting those stories told from the horses mouth, I wish I'd of asked my Grandad more than what I did about his Rolls Royce tow truck which he and his father converted during WW2 they used it for pulling army vehicles out of ditches and muddy fields as it wad the only vehicle that could do it. If my Grandad's dad wasn't available the police asked my Grandad to drive it and get the army vehicle out he was only 14 with no licence 🤣 those were the days. I have a photo of the Rolls tow truck, it was based in Fareham Hampshire, Even Rolls Royce tried to sue my Great Grandad because a Rolls Royce shouldn't be made into a tow truck my Great Grandad told them to jog on he said it's his vehicle that is bought and paid for and he can do what ever he wants to it, Rolls Royce weren't to happy. 🤣 If you want to see the photo send me your email address and I will send it to you.

Thanks for helping bring back some great old memories looking round the show. I past my test in a DAF 2800 (30 year ago)😂. I remember my old man driving a Scammell and AEC. I would love to see some off the new guys trying to drive they old things with no power steering and splitter gearbox. Bloody good show and would love to go to it one day👍

You can't beat enthusiasts and equipment! Pride , knowledge and give you the time to explain their pride and joy. The electric lorry ....wow 1936!! The first Tesla and more reliable!! Cracking day for it to! Can't beat the sun ☀️ until it rained but you had a good dry spell!! I was at the Tattenhall classic car show yesterday and saw some amazing vehicles ...harriers , 1600 sport, rs 200, 6r4's , intergrale's....to Jensen interceptors and Lamborghinis....was a great day ! Listening to some of the old American V8's....roaring ! Truck spotters 😂😂😂 rule 😅 Funny enough yesterday the car park had as many super cars nearly as the event!! I remember learning to drive a truck when I was a kid it was an 1970s BEDFORD and I whould drive it around the yard all the time I chould drive a truck before I chould drive a car and I got very good at Reversing truck's because I whould get to Park them all into the workshop at night

I'm thinking that show ground was the old air base that I stayed at for a fortnight in 84 or 85 with the Army Cadets, we came down from Dundee. The old billets they had us staying wouldn't be put up with by the young uns today 😂😂
That was a nice surprise as you got my classic Albion Mixer getting shunted back on my low loader and then again leaving and yes Ben Guy Big J was my fav motor too.
As someone who did an apprenticeship at London Brick and subsequently owned a Matador, this was a nostalgic experience. I have so many spannering memories of AEC Mercury, Mammoth Major, Marshall & Matador. Great video, thank you Chris.

Merv Edwards ran BNA302M on timber for a long while. It was ex-BRS and has a Cummins small cam 290 - uprated to 335 and a 13-speed Fuller Roadranger in it. Merv uprated the back axle to a Rockwel and it's legendary status as a dragster was born. It's claim to fame was that Merv's drivers couldn't get it into top gear due to the speed it was travelling by the time it got to that last gearchange. So good to see it still runs after so long in the shed...
The East Yorkshire buses version of the AEC Bridgemaster were specially built with that tapered roofline to fit under Beverley Bar in Beverley near Hull.
I worked on a crane that used a diesel generator to power the hoist, trolley, and traction motors. Quite reliable but difficult to set up potentiometers for speed control.🇨🇦
