Hi James, im really enjoying your posts here and especially atm as i have been forced into fixing many things that i normally wouldnt attempt but ive got a bit more confidence now to try and tackle all my plumbing issues i hope... so many thanks and by the way, while im just draining a rad to try and fix a leak, ive been cleaning the fins as you recommended doing and remembered doing this once in a house i bought, simply because painting behind it in situ was impossible as it was so dirty with soot and cobwebs etc, you couldnt even see daylight inside and afterwards, i could not believe how much more heat i was suddenly now getting as a result, pretty spectacular! Just one thought, i think you used a feather duster and vacuum device in the video james, i have been trying out a discarded soft dressing gown belt and cut a vertical slit near one end and popped in a weight taken from the bottom of some old heavy curtains ( sometimes found sewn inside hems - to hang better), works a treat plus you can do all middle section in one go which saves some time but i agree, its a no- brainer must do task. Cheers buddy!
Nicely explained dude. Worth noting that not all base units have backs thick enough to fix pipework to though. I prefer to have pipes coming in from the back to prevent losing anything down holes in the base of the cabinet....
Glad I just saw this!! I’m doing my first fix and was going to bring my waste up in the centre, didn’t occur to me to put the waste at the back. Great video as always, thanks James!!!! Legend

Beautiful, I do love ogling at a nice bit of under sink plumbing! Ooer one of the first skills we were taught at plumbing school was straight pipes through pipe clips!
Nice neat job. The only thing is (here he goes!!) I always chuck the waste kit away and fit two seperate p traps. I do this because the trap is there to create a seal and stop the drain odour coming back up through the waste pipes. With the waste kit, there is a reasonable amount of pipework before the water seal and I've found this can eventually lead to waste build up in that section of pipework and odour escaping into the kitchen.
I have recently come across your pages and subscribe straight away you are a credit to all plumbers out there a true craftsman of his profession love watching your videos and most importantly learning from yourself top man 👍🏻
Brilliant video! great pipe work, really like the design stuff. I just plumbed the sink in our bathroom, just a simple hot/cold/waste setup but I'm chuffed with it :)
Hi mate, thanks for the information. Just got a question: for the kitchen waste pipe, can I connect under floor to the toilet waste, or it is better to have separate pipe to the drain? For the concern of blockage in the future.
Went to a house to attend a dishwasher malfunction recently where there was a new kitchen install. The waste water from the sink etc goes out through the wall. But its done such that the pipe into the wall is much higher than usual, in this case so that the U trap and nearly all pipework including the dishwasher and washing machine couplings are constantly immersed in water, cos the outflow pipe through the wall is higher. Is this a problem?, and is it against uk regs?.
I have had a new tap & sink unit installed. Now the drainage is poor and water sits in the sink for ages before draining away! Never had a problem with drainage before and the pipes are not blocked. What can be the problem? It is a Blanco silgranite unit. many thanks, James.
Just a quick question regarding the washing machine drainage. I notice that the drainage pipe that the washing machine drainage hose is going to be connected to is practically horizontal to the drainage pipe for the sink. Does this mean that when the sink is emptied suddenly and all the water rushes away that some of it will go up that left hand drainage pipe and down the washing machine drainage hose into the washing machine just from the force of the water rushing down from the sink hole if you get what I mean.
I'm not an expert, but for the feed to "the rest of the house", which would include the boiler, bathroom, etc., isn't 15mm too small? Even if you are employing an attic tank, I would have thought 22mm is best practice. Tell me if I'm wrong please.
If you'd put the cold feed on the rhs, you could have avoided the bend to come over the hot pipe... but very neat and tidy, like how you kept it all at the back.
Im adding the washing machine plumbing under the sink do i need to add the washer connection valve to the cold feed or the main feed we have 3 pipes under the sink hot cold and main ? Thanks
So if the pipe that goes under the unit gets blocked? What can I do to unblock it? Tried bendy wire Barbarb of soda and vinegar Boiling water Non have worked.
Nice and neat. Aren't the trap connections going to be slightly short unless the worktop is the same thickness as the mdf. Not knocking your work, just wondering?
+Daniel Brannigan arr valid point, I sported that at the beginning. completely forgot. Yeah your right might be too long. I'm thinking they went for granite, or maybe just the bespoke mdf rustic worktop.
I've had a wire spider down my sink, chemicals and caustic soda but its still completely blocked after three weeks. Got the trap off and its all clean. Now ive no boiler, no washing machine and no sink and dont know what to do. Any ideas please?
im not sure what code is in the UK but in canada the trap you installed would basically be called an "S" trap. here we need the venting to be above the trap not below. Do you ever find that the ptrap self siphons on that particular set up? '
Nice videos mate. Any advice on how to stop your clips melting when doing sink work? Also how to get your heat pad in the right spot to stop the scorch marks when soldering on elbows through the carcass?

Just bought a house that needs totally replumbing. I hope my plumber can do half as nice a job as this! I'd do it myself but the missus won't let me! Says I'd take too long.
Hey I'm a 3rd year aprentice and I was just wondering do you have any tips for soldering when the two fittings are literally side by side. I normally double 45 it to make room. Also do you have any tips for soldering the bottom part of a fitting I always seem to get a bit of solder dribble. Thanks for the videos :)
Is syphoning not an issue with your plumbing codes over there? S traps like that have been totally banned in North America. Either you would need an air admittance valve, or an “island” vent installed.
Hope you enjoy guys! Just a quick video to show you what I think is important when you're installing under a kitchen sink....we all have our own ways. Tell me yours! PP!
Rough, enough sed, top wash mac tap no room to get hose on, solder shocking, pipes will sweat under the sink and cause condensation, need lagging, keep hot and cold away from each other in a confind space best you can

I know I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to stream newly released series online?

Under my sink is a disaster i would happily pay for this 10/10 work
Same!
Nice and neat, exactly how it should be done with a little forethought and insight turns it into a job well done and not a spider mess!
Thanks man!

Am doing a plumbing course an am always watching ur vids there really helpful thanks
This is workmanship at its best level! I'd love to see you 2nd fix a shower tray
You won't have to wait too long! Filming one in a month or two!
Beautiful, I do love ogling at a nice bit of under sink plumbing! Ooer one of the first skills we were taught at plumbing school was straight pipes through pipe clips!
How weird....I was watching this video and started going through the comments and spotted your comment...could this be regarded as a small whole!?
That's not proper plumbing. You haven't scorched the back of the unit behind the pipes.
Ha!
Yea but he left those scored in pencil lines behind the pipes and took the middle shelf away in his van. What shelf 👍😁
Nice neat job. The only thing is (here he goes!!) I always chuck the waste kit away and fit two seperate p traps. Speedy Delivery just what I needed.
Looks very neat and tidy. When do you recommend using plastic pipe rather than copper?
I have had a new tap & sink unit installed. Now the drainage is poor and water sits in the sink for ages before draining away! Never had a problem with drainage before and the pipes are not blocked. What can be the problem? It is a Blanco silgranite unit. many thanks, James.
Nice neat job, James. Lines, clips and then pipes.
Cheers mate!
Great video thanks! Does it have to be in copper under the sink or can it also be done using Hep20?
Thanks
Great job. Very tidy. Beautiful. A joy forever.
Just a quick question regarding the washing machine drainage. I notice that the drainage pipe that the washing machine drainage hose is going to be connected to is practically horizontal to the drainage pipe for the sink. Hi .. water is leaking through the joins of my pipes, have re tightened them but still leaking?
Would be nice to know what selection of valves you used. Thanks
I'm not an expert, but for the feed to "the rest of the house", which would include the boiler, bathroom, etc., isn't 15mm too small? Even if you are employing an attic tank, I would have thought 22mm is best practice. Tell me if I'm wrong please.
Is it possible to take copper pipe straight to tap instead of flexi pipe?
Do you always use full bore valves? Any particular brand you like to use?
Cool video, I'm new yo yhr plumbing - no valve for the hot water? Thanks
If you'd put the cold feed on the rhs, you could have avoided the bend to come over the hot pipe... but very neat and tidy, like how you kept it all at the back.
Is the whole house being fed by a 15mm main pipe? Is that ideal?
What do you do if you cant match your plumbing up to your waste pipe ?
Great copper pipe work. Id love if my sink was that tidy.
Im adding the washing machine plumbing under the sink do i need to add the washer connection valve to the cold feed or the main feed we have 3 pipes under the sink hot cold and main ?
Thanks
So if the pipe that goes under the unit gets blocked? What can I do to unblock it?
Tried bendy wire
Barbarb of soda and vinegar
Boiling water
Non have worked.

Nice and neat. Aren't the trap connections going to be slightly short unless the worktop is the same thickness as the mdf. Not knocking your work, just wondering?
No. It's a undercount sink. So it will be long if anything. The sink is sitting 18mm high. Trap looks telescopic also.
+Daniel Brannigan arr valid point, I sported that at the beginning. completely forgot. Yeah your right might be too long. I'm thinking they went for granite, or maybe just the bespoke mdf rustic worktop.
Yeah top going on next week!
20mm granite I think...
I've had a wire spider down my sink, chemicals and caustic soda but its still completely blocked after three weeks. Got the trap off and its all clean. Now ive no boiler, no washing machine and no sink and dont know what to do. Any ideas please?
You should do a video on plumbing a waste disposal unit
Thanks for the bonus. Did you put the cold tap on the left?
Cold tap in the UK is always on the right, for the poor sighted.
Thanks, look great.
Great video! What brand of hole saws were you using?
Can't remember and the van is too far away (drive) for me to get up and look!
Nice Job, Sir!
Nice vid! Id like you working on my house.
Would have been good to summarise what youd done with the copper pipes - didnt really follow what youd done

thanks for the video, my diswasher is about 1.5m away from the sink how should i run the waste to the sink across and also the cold , thanks
I have a problem, i only have one water pipe and the machine is using it, so how do i attach my dishwasher🤔
Great vid, just watched it with the Mrs but she says sort your sleeves out and where is big G???
Big G can't come to work! Sleeves sorted!
im not sure what code is in the UK but in canada the trap you installed would basically be called an "S" trap. here we need the venting to be above the trap not below. Do you ever find that the ptrap self siphons on that particular set up?

Another very helpful video James. Thanks! Question: Would you recommend doing all that plumbing with plastic pipes and push fits?
He didn't answer you question that'd prob is big no pal... Many plumbers and student plumbing myself push fit and plastic is no no. Copper is daddy.

looks good but the trap isn't vented at all! UK Code doesn't require venting I guess lol
professional job nice and clean
