      @@mikaeluhl It's not freaky to look at your baby that can't be nursed and then look at your animals and think "ok, this might just work". I really don't like this bizzarre idea that humans figured out milking other animals because they were freaky and not because they were desperate and clever. It makes perfect sense. And once they can already eat normal food, well, why not keep giving them more milk? Bam! Your kid is still producing lactase at the age of like, idk, 10! And eventually some humans just mutate to produce lactase indefinitely. Like, If the first person to figure out milk was an adult or teen doing it for themself they'd just get a tummy ache and decide it was a bad idea

    Making cheese has a secret horror, the traditional way of making it curdle was to mix it with the cow's extracted stomach acid called rennet.
    Most (not all) cheeses use artificial rennet now.
    Oh yeah, also there's a type of cheese that is infested with live beetles. And, yes, you eat it beetles and all.

    Well it may seem strange but consider our livestock animals can eat things humans cant, they can turn indigestible grasses into nutritious milks. Thats why they drink other species milk. The cheese serves as a tasty way to preserve the otherwise easily spoiled milk.

    Cheese is a colony of microbes that grows in milk, and then we eat the microbes. Some microbes are tasty and nutritious, and others are disgusting or toxic, so we have to make sure we colonize the milk with the right species or it just becomes rotten. Different species produce different kinds of cheeses. We control this by putting a tiny bit of existing cheese into a container of milk so that the organisms living in it spread out and turn the milk into the same kind of cheese.

    • @alonk1060

    • @indigofenix00
      @indigofenix00 3 дня назад +10

      @@alonk1060 It's more complicated in practice, since different microbes need different kinds of living conditions to grow well, so even if you've got the right kinds of microbes you still need to make sure the environment is more suitable to them than their competitors.

    Milking oats is a delicate process and the yield isn't very good so you just do it at scale. Hooking up the milking machine is very tedious, but if you've ever worked at a beetle milk farm you will find the process very similar.

    Wait till they hear about coconuts and their milk.
    also i just created a chengyu saying,
    外奶内精
    literary it means 'foreign milk, native essence', here essence is short for essential fluid, jingye, which many fractions of the universe use for breeding purposes.
    the chengyu's meaning then would mean harmony which althrough unnatural, is considered natural; something unnatural which has been cultivated long enough, eg a law or fire, will be a part of tradition and of the species's history.
