Like the german I am, I went out and bought the best supplies and watched about thirty of Mako's videos before even attempting to put brush to paper. Her soothing voice, calming confidence, perfect instructions, and relaxing music finally got me to dip my brush. Seriously, it's got to be so easy, right? I mean, really? The first sunset did not blend at all, even though I followed the instructions to a fault. It was a mess of colors. Now I realize, it's practice, practice, and practice some more. I ordered the book and look forward to failing miserably until I don't.
I did this with my older sister who's 21 and I'm 10 I did the field and my sister did the sunset and that was really fun! And me and my sister together having fun it was like a bonding moment 😊😊😊
Awww that's cute! I did this with my little cousins, they are 12 and 10 and I'm 16. They loved it! Her style is so easy and relaxing yet still fun and pretty!
My daughter and I did this together and it was a lot of fun. The paper was not for watercolors but they still turned out great. Thank you for the video.

The water on the second one was not that good....but i like other two and also...i can't paint as good as u but i understand wut art is and your hardwork on it so...maybe one day i will be making this type of same tuto better than this?maybe?
These are some of my favourite videos that you do, because you make the paintings seem easy and doable enough that I can usually get over my fear of failure and actually try them. Normally I'm so worried about wasting paint, paper, and creating something ugly that I cant even pick up a brush when I want to paint.
I had such a blast painting this. I learned alot and it was so much fun! I'm pretty much a total beginner at watercolors but have been doing art for about 10 years roughly. Thanks for the great video!
I got watercolors for Christmas, and today my motivation decided to come back (as it was damaged by quarantine) I feel very confident in starting off with this, thank you for the tips and guides !
I followed along, my very first time trying to do something like this, and although it didn’t come out how I wanted it to, I am still happy to have made a thing! Thank you so much!
I was thinking the same... Result is not as expected, but I learned so many small things and realised that I'm actually capable of doing more than leafs with watercolor haha
These are so lovely! My grandfather was a watercolor artists and he used to set us up next to him with our own papers. Learning how to have a much lighter touch was a hard one for us. This takes me back.
I tried it, it is my first ever water color experience (after the disastrous way we used it in school as kids) I am glad with the outcome.. I wish I can show it you what I could create
OH MY GOD I just did this tutorial as my first watercolor painting ever AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Thank you so much for this! Super cool result and I'm actually understanding how much water, pressure and patience it takes!
I honestly just watch these videos, because I find the way watercolour moves across the page and dilutes so satisfying/ hypnotising lol. Maybe one day I'll have a go, who knows? lol
I learnt so much from this tutorial! Thank you! I usually get bored when I mess up paintings but I realized from watching your videos that I can just make something better out of my mistakes!
I really enjoyed this, my attempt is not nearly as nice as yours but I learned that I can wipe off some layers if I go wrong and mostly fix them if necessary. I'm looking forward to some more watercolor, I haven't worked with it since high school (many years ago) and then I didn't care for it because I couldn't get the hang of it. Thanks for the tutorial!
This is the most beginner friendly watercolor painting I've ever found and I'm glad that I did! Thank you for this! I just recently bought a new watercolor paint set and watercolor paper and this video's so helpful! Grabbing my materials now to paint while watching this. Subscribed! ❤️

I do have a video idea. I have a windsor newton water color palette and I am always confused on what colors go together in order to not make the paints appear too muddy and blend naturally. If you could do like a warm colors / cool colors list for the popular palettes that you use that would be sooo helpful. Thank you for all that you do Mako

Hello. Im trying to copy what you did since we are at the home quarantine and i dont have school anymore. What other papers can i use except for watercolor paper?
You can technically use any paper for watercolors, and common printer paper works fine for wet on dry! but watercolor paper holds up best when you want to repeatedly get the paper wet (wet on wet), like this tutorial calls for. Maybe look at kelogsloops channel for his tutorials too, his videos focus more on practicing specific techniques (which doesn't necessarily require tough paper)!
