Hello! Aren’t we incredibly lucky as Beatles fans to first get Get Back and now this? What a great time to be a Beatles fan! I’m glad I lived to see this! I had friends who didn’t make it this far and I feel bad for them now especially. So I’m really enjoying this now! And being alive in general despite all the madness going on in the World currently. Don’t you agree that we are so lucky? I feel like a kid in a candy store! 😝 I know what I want for Christmas now! The Beatles 5 CD Box set! I’m going to enjoy listening to it all while I page through the new Book! That’s going to be so much fun! 👏🏻😊
i keep my Beatles CD collection in individual poly coated sleeves after i transfer them from my i tunes via PC into my i phone to listen and rarely on occasions using my Bose multi CD player. i.ll consider purchasing the LP version sometime next year. take care and enjoy your set with the upcoming holidays. TJR and family.
I nearly choked on my dinner after the "superfan was playing with the 7 inch" quip.😉 I have the Super Deluxe Edition in hi res and I'm loving it all. It's early day's but this might be my favourite remix and extras. I look forward to your review.
Have had the 2cd set .. it’s been played every day for now nearly a week.. and I love it .. the more I play the better it gets …next move is to get hold of the lp set … I think you made the right choice and hope you enjoy it …
Some of the outtakes are so revelatory I wish there had been another 2 CDs of them. They are as much fun as the finished recordings. And the ones we've heard before through less-than-proper means sound so much better now. Would have loved the backing tracks on all the songs, if they even exist, as The Beach Boys have been doing with their box-sets. Best karaoke around because we all know the lyrics so well!
I can definitely understand your feelings on this. These super deluxe editions are very expensive. More affordable single CD and double CD versions are available for a lot less. And if vinyl is your thing there is a single vinyl release too. Also, the entire audio content of the super Deluxe Editions is available for streaming on sites like Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
I've seen the comic mentioned in other unboxings, I'm getting my physical CD set for Christmas so I haven't read it yet, but I think the comic is supposed to tell the story of creating the Revolver cover.
The comic is about Klaus getting word that the Beatles wanted him to create the cover of their newest album. Klaus created and drew all of the comic strip. Once you read it, everything falls into place!
Growing up in the eighties and coming of age in the nineties, CDs are my preferred format…especially when it comes to box sets. The low maintenance aspect of it and the clarity of it can’t be beat, IMO. Like you, there’s something about putting outtakes on vinyl that to me doesn’t make sense. Like vinyl is too precious for something as relatively minor as outtakes. Or, something like that, I can’t explain it.
I don’t know if Giles Martin going to make anymore Beatles reissues, because I’m assuming Rubber Soul might be their 2023 reissue, let me know if there’s any updates, thanks🙂
I got the CD box due to the fact that i dont have a working turntable. I love the new mixes compared to the 2009 box set. The outtakes, rehearsals & demos are great. I think the 1966 mono disc has slight distortion ; very disappointing. Great book. Got it for $102 including tax from Amazon.
Magical Mystery Tour is a real album. It was an EP in Britain but Capitol in America did not have success with EPs so they released the album which was imported into Britain in later years and released in Germany. It became part of official Beatles canon with the release of the Beatles CDs in 1987 and even John Lennon himself described it as one his favorite albums.
@Bill Leary: It all depends on whose point of view you are talking to LOL. Some people don’t see it as an album. But I am glad to hear that John Lennon thinks so. Thanks for the comment 👍
@@TJRtheOriginal my pleasure….sorry if I provided a long answer and the information maybe obvious but I get carried away when it comes to this album and people who don’t consider it a real album…. I do think it was one of the better ideas by Capitol….take care!
Speaking of Magical Mystery Tour, I can't find any discussion in regards to it possibly being given the the remix treatment. It seems like a wasted opportunity to me. This would really benefit with a remix, more so than the later albums. It's ironic that, this being a compilation, it plays so wonderfully as an album. The song selection and ordering runs so smoothly.
Hello TJR! Just thought I let you know that on the outside box you can see the Parlophone symbol and the Revolver on the bottom on the outer box if you place the outer box at a certain angle with a light source. I would have thought you would have notice this particular cool feature on the outer box.
I just watched this video again, and another thought occurred to me when you implied how people call MMT a compilation album, I wished I would’ve thought if this before but… you know what Beatles album I consider a compilation album: YESTERDAY & TODAY! I just now thought of that.. I always really did actually consider it a compilation album, even though in America it wasn’t meant to be…
FINALLY… i was waiting for this..😄 i’m probably only gonna be able to get the 2CD edition and listen to the rest on Spotify… i happy with it🙂 9:33 you know my stance on that…😆😂 But i will say it seems that Giles thinks of “Strawberry Fields” and Penny Lane” being part of St. Pepper…. so i get the feeling he probably wants to do something different like 🤷 i don’t know maybe using the remaining songs from MMT album and combine them with the 4 “Yellow Submarine Soundtrack” songs?? i don’t see any point on releasing the Strawberry Fields single again… or maybe so🤷 everything is up in the air for MMT it seems.
Please, do a video talking about your music site trip. I am planning to do just a trip like this from here, Germany, to Detroit and then drive down to Nashville etc. Maybe you have some useful infos. - My favourite Beatles albums are Stgt. Pepper and the Mystery tour as well, but Revolver comes very, very close. When I heard the album the first time when it just had come out, I was 13 years old then, the album was like a revelation, sounds nothing like i'd ever heard before, "She Said" brought me to extasis. But I didn't have the money to buy a copy for myself. LPs were way beyond my and most of my friends financial means until I was 17 or so.
I'm curious why no blu ray. It boggles my mind they created a hi-def stereo mix plus an ATMOS mix but chose not to include it, especially when all the other releases did. I can't get past it, I am literally gobsmacked.
Looking forward to your review of the tracks with (hopefully) Robert Kinsler. BTW, who is "superfan?" She's kind of annoying. Please, I'm ready to stop watching but I love YOUR input. I hope I wasn't out of line. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings..

The Remix is stunning guys.

NICE!!! I got my CD box set version yesterday. The new remix is amazing.
Glad you like it
Beatle albums. They're not for poor people anymore. Thanks to your video was able to enjoy the experience vicariously at least.

Oh wow I would love to do that tour

I’m sure TJR knows all of that.

@Bjorn S Johnsen Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I agree! It's totally an album - and one of their best!

I once read John Lennon say that the US 'Magical Mystery Tour' was his favorite Beatles album, so he considered it to be a real Beatles album.
Right on!

Thanks for the input on that. Superfan and I are talking about doing one.
John Lennon said the Magical Mystery Tour album was his favorite. It is an album in USA
It is indeed. And I am glad to hear the John Lennon Agrees. Thanks.
What album is Giles Martin going to remix next what will be the next Beatles super deluxe edition
No knows till they announce it.
Can we get Superfan up on screen sometime please?
She doesn’t want to be on camera

I am scratching my head about it too.
Giles Martin,Con Man
Gli unboxing non si fanno così, guardati qualche video.
