      Yes!
This reminds me of a conversation I had with the mother of my ex who had gotten out of prison for CP & had abused (in all ways) her children. I said if she was sorry she would be dead.
She asked me, "So you think I deserve to die?"
I said, "Wether you deserve it or not, if you felt sorry enough about what you've done for me to believe you wouldn't do it again, you wouldn't be able to live with yourself anyways."
      It's the same with Paul.

I'd say man up! You put yourself into that cage. You knew right from wrong. He decided he deserves to escape the penality for cruelty and m..
It is sad but why I bother to speak up. Yes, for Paul, growing up he saw mom, maybe dad get away with neglecting him, beating on him with no serious consequences.
This gave him permission to abuse others. I have to keep yelling," Abusers do not need or want forgiveness. They want permission to abuse others." This is why very few will reform. They know we have generations of abusers they can turn to for acceptance.
I listen, sickened by Paul's family, the leeches who have been trying to build a relationship with him. All blaming the system when Paul' s choices put him in prison. Who is saying wow Paul, you are right where you have to be? None of the people aiding and abetting him. Reassuring him there is nothing wrong with him. We are the bullies for daring to protect ourselves from his abuse.
It does eat me up. How he really can't and won't feel anything for Timothy's right to live without hunger, with dignity and free from abuse. It becomes understandable why Timothy was acting out some because most of what was going on around him was abuse.
Who was there to give Timothy food, clothing, any forms of love and compassion? My heart aches for these children, trying to survive in thid messed up home.

Randy wants Paul to be there as his entertainment when he WANTS him to be. But I think Randy is also starting to realize that Paul isn't the innocent, "manipulated by the justice system" person he wanted him to be. Something about his answer regarding the animal abuse in his childhood must have set off a light bulb in Randy's dim brain lol-- he backed the wrong horse. He choose the abuser, not the autistic child Paul helped smurder. Seems to me like Randy is slowly starting to see what we have all seen from the very beginning. When a person's family doesnt want anything to do with them, there is a REASON. What happened to Timothy wasn't a one-off oversight. It was the culmination of decades of being a horrible person. Paul's family sees him clearly. The question is, is Randy finally starting to as well?

    • @pennyc11
      @pennyc11 3 месяца назад +3

@@chilltarts I see Randy motivated by guilt. He knows he could have gotten involved. Reached out to Paul or even Timothy. Less to Timothy, he required more work that he didn't want to do.
So is Randy a religious guy? Feeling guilty for his kin? Thinking to make Paul a fix' er up project? Something useful?
If Randy was a teacher? Sure, he could send him an educational book. Some Psychology to help show him why he is in prison. Why he has to learn, work with others to become a decent human being.
Playing intellectual games with Paul? Just reminds him who is the smart one and you are the dummy. I imagine by now, Paul figured that part out.
Paul doesn't have any intellectual disabilities. No autism, not bi-polar. He is suffering from extreme neglect. Poor socialization skills and a poor education. And a mouth full of ugly teeth that can and should be fixed.
Paul learns what he wants to learn. Leave out all of the rest. The trouble with self-education. It is all about what motivates you to do anything? Paul shows an interest in gaming. Using it to make money. It takes talent and education. Again, his choosing to reach out in children's games will only reinforce his drive to not learn something useful that will help him support himself. He wasn't a very successful child. How will he become a success in luring paying customers and drawing in enough subscribers to support himself?
Nothing about Paul's behavior equates to any kind of learning disorder. His uncle just proved that. Paul engages with him and tries to remember details that he did learn. Yet still remaining on focus to why he is making these phone calls. His personal go fund me campaign.
People with those learning disorders cannot hide them. They will struggle under pressure and struggle to remain focused when talking to others in a long conversation. Paul isn't acting out, tearing up his cell in frustration or showing emotional outbursts. He comes across as calm even in emotional situations that does upset us.
He was able to follow Shanda's instructions and act them out inspite of Timothy's protests. What often happens to abused children, their punishment remains cruel but doesn't usually escalateas long as they remain compliant. They learn this behavior because when challenging them, the abuse gets more barbaric. Why when you ask why did you endure? You were conditioned to believe only two choices? Bad or worse. No one else has given them better choices. Why as adults, we must ask the hard questions like the singers, chanted asked us. What is really going on in your life?. Paying attention to what he was doing to dear Tim. It is just as sad that G's family chose to not be concerned enough over how G was living, or Timothy? Sure, G had it better but he was still being exposed to what was happening there.
Shanda wanted money, success. She was passed tired taking care of children. Paul too. It was why he didn't bother until I imagine someone at work, online, questioned him when talking about his brother. It was that tiny moment, when he realized what he was doing was hurting Timothy might cause serious damage and he slipped Tim some food. It took too long. Much too long and it was a passing thought.
Why? Because under interrogation Paul ignore the rules, the consequences of starving someone to sing mom's praises. Clearly to perserve his life free from the responsibilities we face in surviving life.
Sad to say, in a way, Paul behaves more like a trained pet rather than a fully functional human being. Granted he was made that way.
It doesn't mean he can not learn, if anything about him ever became attractive enough to lure someone to want to mentor him, rather to put him to use as their meal ticket or emotional fantasy outlet.
Whether he will ever develop compassion for others in a healthy sense?
I think of Ruby Franke, oh these poor prisoners, my little chicks. Put under her care? She abused those children terribly. She had little concept over how to raise them properly.
She was the eldest child right? No doubt, her parents were self-absorbed, using her to parent her younger siblings without their continued guidance. Depriving her of the time to develop herself of a whole person.
I saw this in my mother too. She struggled socializing with other adults. Her growing up was all about taking care of her younger siblings. Being constantly punished for their mistakes.
With time and her own family? It makes sense she would regress under stress. Become more resentful of her children. They were making her look bad. Costing her money.
Only someone just as broken, as Jody and possibly, Pam was, would bother with someone like her. Anyone else, even her sisters kept away from her as she spirled down the rabbit hole.
I say Pam because, needing some help while dad was recovering from surgery? It wasn't family who stepped up to help. It was Ruby's children who they could use without paying them or giving them any real options. Pam first choice was I can take them, no questions, keep them, put them to work for me, so police cannot put them into a welcoming home. Never thinking, well Kevin, Ruby's three sisters should be carrying for them in a crisis.
Their selfishness trumped any reasonable thinking of anyone else attached to Ruby should be caring for these children in a crisis.
Like Ruby, Paul, put into a role he clearly was not qualified to play, failed completely. Why not everyone can be a teacher or should try parenting. I hold the deepest respect for those who choose not to become parents. They know their toletance level. It could be work or genetically related. It is a tough job. Our prisons are full of those who failed as parents. A flaw in our social structure. Trying to push us all into the same mold. Some of us are square pegs, that will not fit. It is just as important that we help to support, train those people rather than push or shame them into parenting.
We need to give a lot more support to those who do though too.

And then the delight he must have taken in torturing his brother is ghoulish. The superiority of tone in his phone calls is laughable and enervating. I don't think his brother was real to him.

The biggest thing that stood in his way was his crazy mom. But as a young man, he had absolutely nothing to fear from her physically at least. So there was literally nothing stopping him not only raising the alarm for Timothy, but even just bringing him home a secret sandwich from the TWO food kitchens he worked in. Which tells me in no uncertain terms that he didn't do it due to the guilt of his own participation in the torture of his innocent, defenceless brother.

He did Paul no favors (boo hoo) and didn't even fiĺl out the very simple one page request for an appellate PD, which is also available on PDF on their website.
Randy is the person you meet one day and he wants to "help you" the next, then cannot because he doesn't have the skill set. But he needs to be the savior, the helper, the Big Guy. IDK if there's a name for that type of person, but I've seen it many times.
