I heard this one first, and didn't know it was a cover. I think they're both pretty neat, but I must say I prefer this one. Maybe it's because I heard this on first, and it's just pure coincidence. But the odd clash between the whole "can't deal" and the fact that it sounds like an 80s love ballad, really floats my goat and that's all I want my goat to do. Yes. Thank you. Bye.

Couldn't agree with you more. I get exactly what you're talking about. I think the way this particular version imbibed the sadness, lingering dangerously on the heartbreaking parts is exactly what makes it so so much better than the original.

Come on, folks! Caroline Polachek is incomparable. She is the most dynamic singer/songwriter on the planet. It’s great that she’s being covered, especially because it’s not an imitation but rather an interpretation. But if you aren’t listening to everything that Ms. Polachek has put out you are missing unbelievable music, going back to Chairlift and Ramona Lisa. Her last two albums, “Pang” and “Desire…” are phenomenal.
