I brought the samsung first, and after a week of using, I wasn't happy With the speed and I saw the Lenovo was around same price, but wasn't able to find any good video about how the speed, so I brought it to test and was alot happier. It's still not any ipad speed, but under $100 I can't complain. 👍👍
I have owned two of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. To say it is almost unusable is ridiculous. It works fine for what I use it for. It's not a gamer tablet. It's fine for movies, Office applications, Zoom and browsing the web. I'm buying a third since Black Friday deal at Walmart for $99. I run 128GB sd cards and will put a 256 card in the new one.
Good to know. Just bought a refurb from Decluttr for $63. Already have a 128GB micro SD card to add to it, plan to use it as a travel navigation device and casual media/news consumption tablet. I think it'll be find for my use case. Cheers.

Wow you still have the nexus 7, is it the sec gen, that was my favorite tablet of all time, it was not usable 4 years ago. Make sure you get the Lenovo m8 Fhd, samsung tab a8 was a joke, so unusable. Constant lag for a $150, Lenovo lag do, but not as bad.

Doesn't want to rotate screen anymore. I just play word & puzzle games on it & use it for reading. Also for RUclips.

You are exaggerating the speed difference between the 2 tablets. Also, many people will get confused and buy the Lenovo M8 HD and think that they are getting better performance than the Samsung.
That is why I try to emphasized to make sure to get the Fhd, it annoying how these tablet is hard to determine, expecially Samsung make so many now a days, and trust me the Samsung Tab A8 is really bad, I guess it's a ok tablet if you use it mainly for book reading, for regular internet browsing it's ok. If you can stand the constant lag or not responding to your click then it's ok. Also when the Samsung not on sale it normally goes for $130 - $150. I'm not saying the Lenovo is a lot faster, it's just more tolerable in terms of speed, it still lag here and there. And both were around $100, just felt you get more bang for your buck 😁😁

I want to ask you if these 2 models have built in gps chip. I just returned an Amazon fire 8 because it doesn’t have gps and they are quite vague about it.
@@mariusb.4047 Ok this is how it will work, if you put in some destinations when you are connected to wifi once you start driving the gps will continue to guide you to your destination, even if you made a wrong turn or missed an exit. The only time that I wouldn't work is when you try to punch in a totally new destination because you rely on Wi-Fi to pick up the rout, but you can us can turn on your phone as a hotspot and when your Samsung or Lenovo connect, it will load your map and you can continue to use Waze on your tablet. Damn, I think I wrote it too long. Hope you got the information you need.
You are correct...the touchscreen on the Samsung is terrible. I bought both the Lenovo M8 FHD and the Samsung Tab A 8.0 Pros and cons for each. I ended up keeping the Samsung despite it's flaws, it is overall a better tablet than the Lenovo IMO. I miss my Nexus 2013 2nd gen. Beat the crap out of both of these clunkers.
@@ricstars95 tbh, they both suck but the Samsung sucked just a little bit less and my 14 return deadline from Best Buy had ended. That made the choice a bit easier for me. Both models kicked me off of websites and back to home screen. Both models froze frequently. The Lenovo had better touch response. Touch response on the Samsung is awful. Speakers are louder on the Lenovo but distort badly around 3/4 volume so the benefits of louder speakers is basically non existent. Samsung is a bit heavier and feels clunky. I don't use tablet for game play so no opinion there. The color for RUclips videos is much better with the Lenovo. Both are fairly slow for every day apps. Viewing angles on the Lenovo are limited. Lenovo basically needs to be close to full brightness for comfortable viewing. The Samsung I basically keep at barely 1/4 brightness and that is fine. Reading books on Kindle is better on the Samsung. Using the Lenovo for reading actually gave me a headache. Like I said, my return period was up on the Samsung so I guess all things considered, if I had to do it over again, I'd probably go still keep the Samsung by default. GL

It's a bit more yellow and saturated compared to the samsung which is a bit wash for my taste, and other thing is the samsung resolution is lower too. In terms of gaming, I tested Call of duty, took 1 whole minute to load, but once loaded it plays well, it does pauses here and there when alot of actions happen, but to be honest its not bad, very playable imo, Graphic is decent, some textures are a bit blurry, you only get the low setting in Graphic Quality, guess the game auto detect the tablet power. For racing game, I tested Asphalt 8, took 25 sec to load, it playable, not 30fps, but it not distracting, still very fun. 3th game I tested is State if Survival, took 38 sec to load, playable, does have pauses here and there. Hope this help, let me know if there is a specific game you want me to test?

the samsung has sim card support tho. and thats a big plus for me. 0.2 second faster to open an app is really irrelevant when youve already opened the app and using it. unless youre switching between apps regularly, then get on a pc.
If SIM card support is more important I can't argue with that, I tried both tablet for over a week, I end up keeping the Lenovo, because of much better screen resolution and a bit faster. For me a lot of time when I click on an app it does nothing I thought the touch screen didn't work, the constant lagging does mess up your mind, imo😅😅, and not to mention the price was almost exactly the same.

I have the 2021 tab a7 lite which has 3gb of ram and 32gb of storage and is as fast as the lenovo. Great review BTW my cousin has that tab a in the video lol.
in terms of the screen size, they are both 8inch, but for the tablet itself, the Samsung is taller, 210mm vs 199.1mm, also a little wider, 124.4mm vs 121.8mm. Note-taking, both are ok considering they both don't come with a pen. Lenovo does provide a higher screen resolution. Hope this help
Imo the biggest Samsung devices adventage is the samsung cloud and OneDrive sync. This is what i am paying for. Also samsung will most likely get more software and security updates than Lenovo. Tab A 8.0 will get the Android 11 in the upcoming months. I am planning of buying this cheapest Samsung tablet only for using RUclips Vanced. And i have one question, does that animation when you minimize or maximize youtube video (i mean when you are watching video and you click that small arrow in the upper left part of the screen) lag on this tablet? How RUclips works overall? And also, in developer options, how much RAM is free with only system necessary apps running?
I have the Lenovo tabm8hd. It ran adroid 9 and updated to android 10 and screwed up the tablet. The widgets have to be updated thru the apps and my app notifications and sounds quit although they're all set to on. There are complaints registered to Lenovo and so far they have not done anything to fix the problem.
Oh, sorry to hear what you experience, I tend to upgrade the software or firmware once it's out in the market for over a month, assuming all the issue if any that the firmware or software had would be resolved by then.

I bought the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 last December and updated to Android 10 from 9. But the tablet is for my less tech savvy and literate relatives so we didn't really care about the widgets nor its "smart" features. The specs is similar to the Samsung Tab A8, being quad core 2ghz & 2gb ram, but I really like the charging dock as I'm not a fan of connecting a cable to a charging port as I had bad memories about how we busted our previous Blackberry Playbook tablet. I also like how solid it is because we dropped a few times (1 meter fall) and still kicking with no scratches/breaks. We only play Candy Crushes, run videogame emulators up to Dolphin, watch RUclips, have video/picture libraries for offline uses. Google maps does lag/freeze when we browse the locations quickly.
The problem I have is I'm trying to buy this in the Philippines and they don't sell the Full HD version. Just the HD. So I need to decide between the Lenovo Tab M8 HD and the Samsung Tab A8.
The Lenovo HD spec is very similar to Samsung Tab A8, resolution, speed, camera spec. You better off with the Samsung Tab A8, unless it's a $40 price difference.

Yes, they are different, my a M8 2gen, your is 3gen, but they upgraded the CPU just a little, changed the microUSB to the new USB C, change 8mp to 5mp and took out the flash, if you can return the 3th gen. For this year might be better off looking at Samsung.
The kindle HD 8, because screen is glare free, but it's $90, so I rather pay $10 more because the Lenovo tab m8 Full HD for me is a good all around 8inch tablet, I only say that because I paid about $98 for the Lenovo, during black Friday. Original price was $150, I believe you can get it for $120 from Lenovo or Walmart right now.

Unfortunately Lenovo does not support resolutions over SD with Netflix, a huge dealbraker for a lot people.

The Samsung screen seems to be a lot brighter. As much as I like the Lenovo being a bit faster, the screen is not bright enough for me.

for the Lenovo in my spec sheet, it have GPS + GLONASS and for Samsung Tab A 8 it have A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, hope this answer your question.

Which tab is best for reading
The kindle HD 8, because screen is glare free, but it's $90, so I rather pay $10 more because the Lenovo tab m8 Full HD for me is a good all around 8inch tablet, I only say that because I paid about $98 for the Lenovo, during black Friday. Original price was $150, I believe you can get it for $120 from Lenovo or Walmart right now.

Hola llevo medio año con la samsug tab A8 modelo t295 LTE y Corre exelente el free fire, call of duty entre mas juegos y la uso para contenido multimedia, netflix e incluso mis clases en linea y en medio año no le e compre funda y solo tiene 3 rayones que es porque la metí en un bolso con varias cosas , pero wow es exelente te la recomiendo pero el modelo t295 que es LTE es la que tengo, suerte amigo es mejor que la lenovo m8 porque la lenovo es de 16gb 1 g de ram pero es mi opinion
I have the Samsung. It is annoyingly slow. Just feels laggy and can't cope with the simplest of tasks.

oh man, I don't know, after I got the tab, I just went to setting and saw an update to 10, so I did. Still using the tab without any issue.
@@Jeffli76 On initial startup, my Lenovo M8 FHD Tab revealed Android 9 out of the box but pretty well right away did its own automatic UPGRADE to "10" seamlessly with no adverse effects, for two months now.

I HOPE so..just ordered the M8 FHD direct from LENOVO. Amazon also had one but its only the M8HD version for about the same price.
Had the Lenovo Tab M 8 FHD model for a couple of months now. Other than the usual Google Android stuff which Samsung would also have, I leave it all in the background and can do all my normal functions on the TAB vs, getting out the Windows laptop. Good buy (check Lenovos OWN) Ebaypage for best deal. I'd buy it again..but hope I don't have to.
