Great video. We are starting out and this is exactly what I needed. On the Solar Campaign results you have compared in the start. Clicks mean a person clicks on the ad and goes to the landing page? And conversion means he/she submitted the form data? Or conversion means it actually converted into a sale?
Appreciate it and thanks for watching, I hope it serves you well on your build! Correct clicks are simply people who have clicked the Ad. Conversions are people who have submitted the form or called the number on the page. We track sales conversions separately. Hope that helps!
Loved this tutorial - Very Insightful. Thanks for such an informative Post Sam. The keywords categorization into groups is helpful. I just started with Solar client, do you have any quick suggestion how to start without wasting any of budget. Main keyword is very expensive $155 (solar panel installer) in area.
Thanks for the comment - In terms of starting out without wasting budget... 1) Make sure you have a very extensive negative keyword list, include products and competitor names 2) Focus on location based keywords and I'd also try exact match [solar panels] as a keyword. This has converted well for us, but every campaign is different!
Really useful video, kudos to you! One question, what's the name of the "offline conversion tracking" platform, or any related platform that can be used for tracking? :) Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed the video. The offline conversion tracking platform we use is called "whatconverts" here's a link to learn more about it: partners.whatconverts.com/f7rlnnsc6aya Disclaimer: It's an affiliate link, but does give you a trial and perks for signing up. I 100% vouch for it and honestly has made a massive impact with communicating tangible results to clients - also makes conversion tracking SO easy.
@@atomic-marketing that would be amazing. I stumbled across god tier ads course, seems to be solid. Which ones do you recommend? Also if you dont mind: I plan specializing in solar niche and want to start by getting some trial clients. Do you think 1k adspend per month will be enough to generate some results with an average cpc of 8-10?
@@atomic-marketing thank you but I have a question. I did maximize conversion with a cap of 75$. I have enough data 80 conversion. But he spends only 10-15$ in the last two days should I wait longer? Or what’s wrong? The budget is high enough
@@markusbreuniger you may need to wait until the bidding strategy is out of the learning phase. However if you are still getting minimal clicks since switching to target CPA you may want to remove the cap or increase the target CPA to give the bidding strategy more opportunity. Hope that helps.
Location targeting at ad group level, that's unique. So you set the broad area at campain > locations setting then remove that and the specific location at ad group level?
Would you also use general keywords like "solar panels" or "buy solar panels"? Unfortunately here in Germany there aren't really much service-buyer intend keywords and the few we got have around 10.000 monthly searches max - or is that enough? Amazing quality content man
Appreciate you! Actually we have found very generic keywords such as "solar panels" do very well. They account for a large % of overall conversions in the account. We use those types of generic keywords as exact match though! Hope that helps
Thanks for watching, appreciate the comment. We charge a management retainer based on bracket of Ad spend. We find it simpler for both clients and agency.
This is what the campaign has progressed to. However you can start the campaign off with this structure, it depends on how you want to manage the campaign. I always lean to something very simple.
Reason 1 - We primarily focus on Google Ads as a service for lead gen. Reason 2 - Lead quality we tend to find better using Google Ads based on our experience - but FB is also a pretty decent channel.
question for you, if you make different landing pages per certain keywords, how are you able to change your sitelinks so that they also go to that certain landing page? my sitelinks always change on the campaign level once I edit them and change for every single ad group. great info too thank you so much for sharing!
Great question! So we will actually only use 1 single landing page for our solar campaigns. We are however able to dynamically change the headline text based on some code and a parameter we use at the Ad Group level. In terms of sitelinks, we use URLs for the same page however these links have the section of the page appended to the URL. So we always create sitelinks that link to our landing page and near the top part of the page with the CTA. Hope that helps!
@@atomic-marketing thank you!! is it bad to have had my campaign paused for almost a year? should I just create a new account? feel like the traction isn't nearly as good now after being paused for so long

im not sure if I set mine up correctly or not , but its been just a few days with $40 spent.... 247 clicks 11.39% CTR . Are they just low quality clicks?
247 clicks for just $40 spent - I'd imagine the click quality is pretty low like you mentioned. Is this a search campaign you have setup? Check your search terms report and see what the actual keywords people are using to click on your Ads.
@@atomic-marketing I'd love to hop on a call or a zoom to get some help.... let me know what it would cost, I have a solar company , mainly experienced in Facebook ads not really on google ads, having trouble navigating. Ill look through your videos though in case I can get the help through those

Yeah I’d say it’s pretty different. Typically for B2B product sales the keywords will be quite different as you would want to avoid the “installer” type keywords. You may also potentially look at setting up a shopping campaign to show your products and get visibility there as well. But in short, this campaign tutorial is really for solar panel installation lead gen.
@@atomic-marketing very little searches for wholesale keywords, I reckon will have to target usual solar keywords hoping some of them are busienss people searching
@@filipsil8262 I agree, I’d imagine most people will just search for “solar panels” or particular product names. It’s a challenging industry where it’s hard to determine the exact intent of the keyword. My main recommendation would be doing your best in your Ad headlines to explain the service, other than that your options are quite limited. That’s always the challenge I have found with B2B campaigns.
Can you share your forecast Excel?

This is what the campaign has progressed to. However you can start the campaign off with this structure, it depends on how you want to manage the campaign. I always lean to something very simple.

High search intent
Reason 1 - We primarily focus on Google Ads as a service for lead gen.
Reason 2 - Lead quality we tend to find better using Google Ads based on our experience - but FB is also a pretty decent channel.
Will this work for CPA marketing?
Potentially, depends on the margins. Solar can be volatile at the moment so I personally wouldn’t be keen on doing it.
