@@mattkenyonSEO nice one, I’m interested in that, and the one you mentioned about keyword research, I wanna rank my site properly, for web design related keywords, in London, UK
It's nice to see a video on a technical topic that isn't [insert marketing technique] IS DEAD IN 2024, HERE'S WHAT TO DO. Those are all over the place on YT, they're long and not particularly information dense.
Can you make a video about how to get 100 click daily as a new website or something like that. Because No one is talking about the new website everyone is talking about the data the search console provide which is not possible for a new website
Surfer SEO is expensive. When you are a new SEO and use other software it makes it difficult to afford. Could you do a video on a tool that is more affordable.
Great video here Matt. New subscriber. Please what extension do you have on your browser that gives in-depth insights into search query as I can see in the video at 12mins 8secs
Thank you! I believe you're looking at the Ahrefs extension. There are other free ones that can give you similar metrics (such as the Detailed SEO extension).
Thank you for the good explanation. Very clear and precise. For this reason I have a question. In my case, I am just going to build a website for a business that I am going to implement. For this reason, I do not yet have a Google Search Console account. In this case, how could I apply the methodology you propose?
Google Search Console is free and easy to install! Just Google "search console" and you'll see it. If you're not getting any traffic, this methodology is tough to implement, but I'm making a video in the future on how to go from 0 to 100 clicks per month with a brand new site. Thanks for watching1
This is something that is likely configured within your CMS. I use WordPress with the GeneratePress theme on that site in the example. What CMS are you using?
@@mattkenyonSEO Usually with WordPress, Divi theme/Divi builder and Yoast. However that may be changing to a different (WordPress based) configuration based on testing...
meanwhile this found keywords from google search console is to use those keywords which already help your website to showup on google search result to improve your page, then for those haven't been indexed page, how to find keywords to help those pages?
Thank you for the video! If I write a better content but my competitor has higher DA than me, like 20-30 more, do I still have chance to rank higher than him?
Yes! It may be tough, but if you drive both internal links and backlinks to the page, and if the page is more relevant than your competitors you have a chance to rank.
I have a B2C website, it's a new site, it's been 2 months, all my rankings are between 21-100, and there are about 400 keywords. Can I also adopt your strategy?

My friend, you have a beautiful way of explaining I would like a course for beginners on blogging from you How to build a professional blog on WordPress
Great video matt! but what happens if the URL is different - do you change it and do a 301 redirect or leave it as is? My example /the-hottest-kitchen-splashback-trends/ but the keyword i should be targeting is "kitchen splashback ideas" this page gets a lot of traffic even outside of the top 5, so is it worth the risk of changing the slug?
Thanks Nicole! You know I tend to go back and forth on this. I think if your slug is radically different from your target keyword - like, “kitchen trends” or something, which would have a much different intent than “kitchen splashback ideas”- I would err on the side of changing it. But the jury is still out on whether or not keywords inside the URL are an algorithmic ranking factor (I’ve seen mixed reports on this). So if the keyword is so close (as in your case) to the target keyword, I’d probably leave it alone. Or, heck, you could run an experiment and see! And if your rankings go down, change it back. But me personally, if the keyword is close enough, I’d probably leave it alone. Just make sure if you 301 it, you remove the old URL from your sitemap and make sure you don’t have any redirect chains (multiple redirects going one to the other before landing on the target page). Thanks for watching!
Hi mat, thanks for your knowledge, I have a quick recommendation.. Just let you know that your audiens is not only from English speaking country... I THINK it'll be better for you if you consider to use an easy work to explain it, Like encapsulate... I just know there's a word like that in English... And i don't really understand the slang your using.. But overall thank you !
Man! Surfer-SEO starts at $99/m for 200 pages then jumps to $219/m for 1000 pages. It’s hard to invest as a beginner when you’re not making any money yet.
Are you indexed in Google? Type in site:[yoursite.com] and see if any results come up. Is your site fairly new? It can take a while to get search data.
That is very usual for a page ranking to change that quickly. I did my two months ago and they are just now starting to move. Google is not quick to change anything and also, it depends on how competitive your niche is. The other side of this is click through rate. He barely mentioned it here but just because your site is on the front page does not mean people are going to click through.
Good observation. Oftentimes, if the keyword is close enough to the target keyword and I don't necessarily want to go through the trouble of 301'ing the old URL to the new one, I won't change it. BUT, if it's drastically different, I will change it, or, of course, if I'm starting a page from scratch. In this case, the keyword was so close to what was already in the URL so I just left it as is. The H1 and Title Tag are really the most important on-page signals in this regard.
@ thanks for the advise, all clear, i have many 301 redirects maybe i shouldn't always change permalinks if they are close enough as u recommend as it gets messy
@@TheThinFrame Exactly. 301s do pass along Google's backlink juice, but too many 301s can lead to some very messy stuff, especially when you have to change your 301 in the sitemap, change the canonical URL, etc.
