Hi Prasetya, if the Asian model is exactly the same (including model number), then it should be ok. However, we have a feeling that the Asian unit you have is different to the Aus model, so we recommend you visit your local Pioneer website for the relevant firmware.

I do exactly as you say, but when plugging the USB stick with unit turned OFF, it won't appear the System uCom Update.. However, BT update went fine. Pendrive is formatted as FAT32 and with only the update file in it..

Excuse me, i've tried to upgrade mine, then while i connect blusoleil paired and updating the avh, at the end bluetooth file transfer almost finished its disconnect and screen says "ERROR" that should be "COMPLETED" ,luckily now the headunit still work like before. dont know what to do.. :(

Hello, I update the first file via bluetooth, so the BT is now update. However, the other 3 files that are to be loaded via USB, won't work on the AVH-8450BT. No matter if I use a USB cable and formatted USB with each file or even connecting the USB to back (directly) of the AVH-8450BT. What is happening? Any help with this?

Hi Anand, this firmware update is for the '8450', not the 8490', therefore please don't attempt this update on your headunit. Instead, please talk to your local Pioneer retailer or contact Pioneer India.

+Brock Grenfell yes. You also don't need a usb key or a laptop. Download the file and extract it to your phone. Select the file and share it over bluetooth it will push the file to the unit. You do have to pair first with the unit, power off and select the bluetooth update. It will wait for the file and this is when you push from your phone
+Hogan Hogan Thanks so much for these instructions. I just updated my 4400 via my phone over bluetooth, and it worked perfectly. I just had to ignore the message from my phone that the file failed to upload. It took less than 2 minutes.
Hi, I am in ANZ and have the 8450 and completed the Bluetooth Firmware update no problem. The problem like many others is that the USB will not read for the iPhone 5 update. I have tried 3 different USB keys and confirmed the right file is on the root and it is formatted to Fat32. Can you please advise? Thanks :-)
Guys, I have resolved it and the resolution might be helpful to others!...I was formatting the USB drives via Windows 8.1 and the AVH-P8450BT refused to recognise the USB drives. I then formatted the USB drives using Windows 7 (FAT32 - blank name of drive) and it worked perfectly!...thanks Pioneer for coming back to me but hopefully this will assist others. :-)
Video lacks a few details that would make this for average person a nightmare and frustrating. the first step of clearing the bt memory and upgrading the the bt firmware needs to be done when the system is in the 'off' mode' then access the system menu otherwise the options are greyed out which the video doesn't say at all. updating the firmware with the trial bluesoleil is also a huge pain because if you stuff it up you need to re-install the software to get the 1.5mb transfer limit restored. the link they supply doesn't work and its not that easy to get your hands on it either as i found some versions didn't recognise the auto pairing code. then getting the darn unit to actually upgrade the bt was a touchy process. while following the video steps to the letter the head unit just sits at updating and does nothing. several attempts doing the exact same steps eventually resulted in success, but at risk of stuffing your head unit be patient and give the head unit 10minutes before pulling the pin (at your own risk) in case the unit is just taking its time. the video should also make mention how long each update should take approximately to give you an idea if its actually working rather then editing the video and the head unit simply saying updating without a progress bar once your through the bt upgrade the upgrades from the usb sticks was as demonstrated and very straight forward hopefully with the above info will save some headaches and $$$ with some of you

Once you have done that, transfer the 3 files to the USBs and follow the same instructions thereafter. It finally worked!

You should inform folks that Pandora will not work after the update. It would avoid allot of confusion.

How about helping all your customers who bought the avhx5650bt then spent more money on the cdml100 for nothing.there's no support from you guys or CCC or even mirrorlink.how can you sell a product that both have a different mirrorlink firmware installed and not offer any support for updates just to then release a newer model with mirrorlink built in.???

Your video got error 10 on my pioneer AVH -8490BT.
Error only shows on bluetooth.
This video has cost me alot will never trust pioneer i guess you guys want ppl to get get error and buy new products.

hi theremy options in clear memory and memory update are blank, no, way to click there....I reset the radio and still, might be already updated or does not accept other firmware...I???it is also avh 8450bt.....didn't try the cables cause don't have them yet, trying to update first, pls help...
hi i'm in italy, and i'm trying to update the avh8400bt, the bluetooth procedure was completed without problem. but with the usb procedures, no problem with the CWW6775_Ver9801.YUK but i have problem with the CWW6778_V825.HAT file, when i use the key ,the window for the updating doesn't not appear. please help
