Older style pioneers you were able to just ground the green wire but now they have it that it has to see a momentary ground ground open ground. You can use a relay no more neither. The bypass I bought is a IC that pulses the ground to immitate momentary ground.
You can run RCA splitters and have the other ends go to the other amp. What I did on my truck was run switches for each speakers. So my Honda I did 2 amps with switches that turn off and on the amp. My truck I did it with 1 amp which it switches on and off the speakers from outside to inside.
Only thing I do not like about the AppRadio series is the limited preouts. It only comes with 2 2volt preouts which I am an audio type of guy and need 3 sets with atleast 3 volts or higher. I am not too sure the direct differences between 1 2 and 3 but I am sure they made improvements in the hardware and firmware. I know the 3rd one comes with CD slot to watch DVDs and stuff. I got this unit over the AppRadio ones simply because the preouts and that it was compatible for my android.
You do need a HDMI and adapter for the Iphone 5. I don't have a iphone but I am sure there is an app other than appradio that allows full control over the iphone.
bluetooth pairing works with or without parking brake I believe. I never tried it without parking brake since I always had mine hooked up to the bypass module.
Idk what brand or type of HDMI I used. The first HDMI I used worked for my computer and television but didn't work for the deck. I then used a higher quality and newer HDMI which worked for me. Make sure you get the MLH adapter.
Hi there, I have the same unit and a note 2 that is also rooted, I purchased the Samsung NHL adapter, my question to you is, what kind of HDMI cable will I need? Is it the HDMI to micro USB? Also, do I hook up the HDMI to the HDMI input to the rear of the player? Thanks.
allright bro...and the yellow one? not yellow black ,but the regular yellow? it says in my metra harness memory? and the pioneer's harness says connect to the constant 12 v terminal...are they the same too?
I gotcha man thats cool My other question is as far as Electrical goes my accord has all stock electrical what do i need to upgrade with running roughly 2000rms? I was going to get a XS Power D2400 and I have a 0AWG Big Three Kit.
I paid $512 from Amazon. I saw other websites for slightly cheaper but I trust Amazon and they have a really good return policy just incase I change my mind on the deck. I am considering getting the steering wheel adapter but price is steep for them.
thanks for reply im thinking about getting either this bad boy here or the the new app3 which do you recommend . i need to faceplate off for security and screen tilt cuz of the layout of my dash which i dont think the app3 radio has any of these features at least it's not showing on the pioneer website. any input would help thanks.
What do you think of getting all Rockford Fosgate punch speakers running that off the new Punch 300.4 and taking the deck power and running that to some horns?
@danterakin That's not true! The 8500 does work with Apple. This model just needs the firmware update for app mode...all the other models have the update and according to Pioneer the update for this model is coming late September. Even in this guys video you can see both iPod and iPhone within the menus.
do you have a power antenna? I don't think pioneer included a separte wire for the antenna but if you do have antenna, you should be okay wiiring it to the bluewhite cable on the pioneer harness. if you are running amps too, I'd recommend wiring a relay to not stress that bluewhite cable since it has a .1A max rating
You can see it in my other video sort of. You can us a car charger or USB charger and plug in the charger to the MHL slot. Then the MHL slot has another end which is then plugged into the micro usb slot. Amazon should have some pictures tho
Question: I have an aftermarket amp for my sub and i use the remote wire from the deck to turn the amp on and off, currently. If i use the bypass to enable video and wire the bypass into the remote on/off from the deck; Do i have to use a relay to wire in the amps on/off remote wire? or can i just wire all three together? or can i wire the amp's on/off remote wire to the RED, ignition wire? I guess my questions is: what's the easiest way to wire in the bypass to allow video AND the remote on/off wire for my sub's amplifier???
ok thanks...i bought the metra harness for my car so i dont have to cut the wires of my factory radio...and the metra wire harness says orange for illumination, but the pioneer says lighting switch terminal...so i have to connect these two right?
I am writing this to you through the deck. With stock appradio app you can't do youtube bit if you have a rooted phone that is compatible with ARLIberator, then you have full control over your deck. Your deck becomes your phone screen and you can do whatever you do with your phone through the deck.
and the last one lol... im connecting the brake bypass...i already connected the long green cable with the green and the black to black ground, and there's the blue remaining ,i connect that to the blue white right?
Stock electrical on our car is kinda weak. I believe I have a 130amp (from Autozone) alternator which in theory I should be able to handle 1600 watt rms. You on the other hand have a 4 cylinder which IIRC has a 105amp alt. Also, have you bypassed the ELD for the alternator? If not, look it up because our car has a ELD which turns off the alternator while driving or at idle. With the XS battery, you should be fine, just don't do long intervals of bass. Also, voltmeter is a must!
Hey man! I'm getting this head unit soon. I'm wondering if I can use this Samsung HDTV Adapter TIP (5 to 11 Pin Converter) with a HDMI through my S4 android phone. Is that okay? Like do I have to use a power supply (white cord you used) cord?
do you have power antenna (the type that is telescopic and goes up when you turn on car or radio? if you dont then you can ignore that antenna wire. if you do then yoi might need to run a relay to power that antenna
Hello, I just got Pioneer Avh-x8550BT i think its same with Avh-x8500BHS. Im using Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note III for the AppRadio but they can't connected to the Headunit. Im using Pioneer CD-AH200 too for the HDMI Cable. Do you know what is the problem ? Thanks.
So basically i would run my New punch amp to all my interior speakers doors and rear deck. then how would i wire a amp for some horns and where did you place them in your under your Accord?
With Samsung S4 on Android 4.3, I get that same screen, with those apps controllable with the deck's touchscreen, but if I press home button on phone, I get all my apps fully mirrored on the 8500 screen, so I can stream youtube or Netflix, but touch on the deck doesn't work for these "external" apps. This is with stock 4.3 on unrooted phone. Btw, Waze is a pretty capable navigation app, and its fully controlled by the 8500...
I just got a Pioneer with appradio and mirrorlink and didn't know about the hdmi cables... Im trying to understand where do i hook it up to get powered? My local best buy got the hdmi mirrorlink kit but i don't want them to install because i got the brake bypass hooked up. Nice vid
The HDMI adapter gets power from a your phone car charger or from your phones USB cable. There's nothing wrong with having BB install it even if you have a bypass.
the thing is that i connected all the cables together and the one remaining on my metra harness is the blue one which is power antena and now im reading the instruction for the microbypass for the blue cable and it says * DO NOT CONNECT LEAD TO POWER ANTENNA WIRE ON RADIO, so i dont know if it would be ok to connect these 3 blue cables(pioneer's blue/white, microbypass's blue, and metra harness blue) together ...no i dont have amps .
Hello Thanks for posting. I have an Pioneer AVH4600Bt and LG G2 phone. I see I can purchase the HDMI adapter from LG, but what type of plug will go to the back on the head unit? Thanks in advance
Craig, There is a mini HDMI adapter available on Amazon. From the mini adapter, your run the Red, White, and Yellow RCA adapters to the back on the unit. Here is the link to the part. If you search on RUclips, under AvH-4600BT there is a guy name REMYICK or something like that shows the setting and connection. Its in 4 parts. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MSR3IH0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#
Craig, you are welcome. I forgot to mention you need a HDMI adapter for your phone. I found one on Amazon, I am the guy in the mentioned one at Radio Shack, don't go for that. I am testing this one out. I am supposed to have my install this week. I will let you know as well. Thanks. www.amazon.com/LinkS-adapter-Charging-Compatible-smartphones/dp/B00EUWJPLY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1417005065&sr=1-1&keywords=LinkS+Micro+USB+to+HDMI+MHL+cable+%2BMicro+5pin+to+11pin+adapter+%2B+3+Feet+Charging+Cable+in+Black+Kit-%28Compatible+with+any+MHL+enable+smartphones+and+tablets%29+%28Adapter+kit%29
I have a 8500BHS with the iPhone 4s... it works flawlessly. I love it. I want to upgrade to a Galaxy S3 or 4. I have the MHL Adapter already. So All i need is a HDMI cord???? Cuz I use this radio in AppMode all the time & I hate to lose all of the apps dat I use espically Navigation
the AVH-X8500BHS compatible with arliberator???? If so can u please tel me what all cables I will need and what rom I should root phone with and the apps I will need to get most of radio please
5 to 11 converter is not a HDMI cable. You don't need 5 to 11 pin converter but you WILL need the MHL adapter which it will need a power source (charger). There are other MHL adapters that dont require the charger but all the people that did not buy the adapter shown in this video had problems. Best to buy from Samsungs website
Let me save you some frustration!! When using a Galaxy Note II on the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS or Appradio 3 you HAVE to use Samsung part # ET-H10FAUWESTA. I bought the 3 this weekend, got it installed. I didn't like it so I got the X8500BHS. Appradio 3 WILL NOT work with a relay or auto bypass like the tr7, only with a 2 way switch turned on and off 2 times.
Mainly I'm wondering if I can get the adapter on the next comment instead of the MHL one. This one looks newer I think? Help me out please, I want to limit all these wires. Ha
Yeah what I was going to do was get the Bigger alternator of the V6 version and just do the battery and big three kit call it good I'm by no means trying to go huge with this car. Yeah electrical on my car is bad headlight dim has been a problem for sure. ELD? I need to check out had no ideal about it. Yeah SMD Volt Meter or a regular Stinger I was planning on using.
I don't have the S3 I have a Note II. You can find out how to root by zedomax (youtuber) or go to his website. Or you can go to XDA forums and find your phone based on carrier.
Unfortunately there is no work around for you as for connecting it through appradio. If you have iphone, you are able to use apps on the deck but you won't get your phones display showing. Only way you can get your phones display on the screen is using the yellow rear RCA inputs for video but with that, you lose touch inputs.
Not going to work. When you use the preamp outputs, it turns off the speakers output on the deck. Also, my horns are being pushed by another amp. 300 watt rms inside and 300watt rms outside. Even if it was possible to run the horns off the deck power, 18watts rms won't do much at all.
ITS ALRIGHT HAVING APP RADIO ONLY IF PIONEER HAD SOME BRAINS TO ADD HDMI TO ALL ITS UNITS TO GET IT WORKING YOU HAVE TO BUY ADAPTORS AND CABLES YOU CAN BUY A CHEAP PIONEER THAT AS A HDMI SLOT THEN YOU BUY A EXPENSIVE ONE AND NO HDMI SLOT

Great video bro. Helped me out tremendously. Thanks.
My GPS works just fine. I know people reported issues with the MHL adpater cutting out the gps signal but for me it works.

I think the appradio 3 is the newest version. But thus head unit has a lot of those features. Plus this head unit is bad ass for sure!
ohh no that one no...then i guess everything is set....hey bro thank you for your help... i appreciate it...
The EXACT reason why I decided to get the 8500 over the AppRadio too!
Only thing I do not like about the AppRadio series is the limited preouts. It only comes with 2 2volt preouts which I am an audio type of guy and need 3 sets with atleast 3 volts or higher. bluetooth pairing works with or without parking brake I believe. I never tried it without parking brake since I always had mine hooked up to the bypass module.
Great video bro. By the way there is a Tom Tom App that will work with App Radio. You can also use Inrix for traffic.
My preamp outputs and my speaker leads are all working in unison. I only have tweeters wired to the HU
What bypass did you buy? relays no longer work for these new pioneer headunits. You need the relay with a IC in it to act as a momentary ground.
Idk what brand or type of HDMI I used. The first HDMI I used worked for my computer and television but didn't work for the deck. I then used a higher quality and newer HDMI which worked for me. Make sure you get the MLH adapter.
The ORANGE/WHITE cable that comes with the pioneer harness...what is it for? did you use it?
Hi there,
I have the same unit and a note 2 that is also rooted, I purchased the Samsung NHL adapter, my question to you is, what kind of HDMI cable will I need? Is it the HDMI to micro USB? Also, do I hook up the HDMI to the HDMI input to the rear of the player?
Thanks.
What format and resolution does the videos need to be in in order to be displayed on the x5500???
allright bro...and the yellow one? not yellow black ,but the regular yellow? it says in my metra harness memory? and the pioneer's harness says connect to the constant 12 v terminal...are they the same too?

thats your illumination wire. hook it up to a wire that becomes +12v when you turn on the lights. your deck will then dim to night brightness settings
thanks for reply im thinking about getting either this bad boy here or the the new app3 which do you recommend . i need to faceplate off for security and screen tilt cuz of the layout of my dash which i dont think the app3 radio has any of these features at least it's not showing on the pioneer website. any input would help thanks.

Which hdmi cable have you used? Sorry for my bad english

so if its hooked up to the parking brake, does the brake have to be pulled to allow bluetooth pairing?
Did you use some special hdmi cable for galaxy???
and the last one lol... im connecting the brake bypass...i already connected the long green cable with the green and the black to black ground, and there's the blue remaining ,i connect that to the blue white right?
Not too sure, check Pioneers website for compatible devices.

Dennis do you have the samsung mhl adaptor?

what MHL do you use that allows GPS signal on the phone?
I got Samsung MHL and it kills GPS on connection ...
as result navigation doesn't work
but dont i have to connect the same blue white to the antenna? or the antenna is separated?
how limited are you with an iphone5 do you still need appradio or you have a braoder ranger app wise. do you need the hdmi ? any vids for iphone5?
i have a x5500bhs.. are they the same?
can you tell me what stuff i need to get for my x5500?
and where to get them? thank you
Can u use this appradio with the iPhone5?? And also use this method to hook the phone??
I have the axvh4600 witch doesn't have hdmi in. How do I use my note 2 with this model?
I just got a Pioneer with appradio and mirrorlink and didn't know about the hdmi cables... Im trying to understand where do i hook it up to get powered? My local best buy got the hdmi mirrorlink kit but i don't want them to install because i got the brake bypass hooked up. Nice vid

ok crazy question can this radio play youtube videos off of your phone i've seen where there is one alpine radio that can
Can I connect an external video source to the hdmi connector in the back to play Xbox?
Hi can the HDMi input be used to input from a car PC
Can you use the radio USB port to power the MHL adaptor?
Yeah, yellow is your constant 12v which keeps your memory set when you turn off your car. Connect them to each other.
I purchased 8500 today and having trouble connecting to app radio how would it be possible to help me out I also have the note 2
yes it is, I prove it in my other video.
i salute you ..................you are great
the thing is that i connected all the cables together and the one remaining on my metra harness is the blue one which is power antena and now im reading the instruction for the microbypass for the blue cable and it says * DO NOT CONNECT LEAD TO POWER ANTENNA WIRE ON RADIO, so i dont know if it would be ok to connect these 3 blue cables(pioneer's blue/white, microbypass's blue, and metra harness blue) together ...no i dont have amps .
What are the differences in the 3500 5500 and 8500 .
Whats the different between appradio 1, 2, and 3?
Hello Thanks for posting. I have an Pioneer AVH4600Bt and LG G2 phone. I see I can purchase the HDMI adapter from LG, but what type of plug will go to the back on the head unit? Thanks in advance

what's the difference between AVH-X8500BHS and AVH-X8500BT? I have the AVH-X8500BT but it look exactly the same as this 1
it mirrors your phone onto the decks screen...Watch my other video and you can see how it works.
Hi dude. Can you get Sygic on Android. I use apple but sygic is a totally awesome sat nav app. 👍👍
Would you be willing to post a video for hooking up appradio one the pioneer Avh-x7500bt for android.
Can you hook up non phone devices to the HDMI input like ps4s?
my pionner does not have hdmi port how to i hook it up?
Does the face come off?
Yes it does
Yeah what I was going to do was get the Bigger alternator of the V6 version and just do the battery and big three kit call it good I'm by no means trying to go huge with this car. thank you
X5500 was built to work with Apple. X8500 is for Android users
bro i have avhx1790 dvd how do i connect with app radio
I don't have the S3 I have a Note II. You can find out how to root by zedomax (youtuber) or go to his website. Or you can go to XDA forums and find your phone based on carrier.
Just running Alpine Type Rs on a PPI ProArt A404 (300wrms)
Unfortunately there is no work around for you as for connecting it through appradio. If you have iphone, you are able to use apps on the deck but you won't get your phones display showing. Only way you can get your phones display on the screen is using the yellow rear RCA inputs for video but with that, you lose touch inputs.
yup, connect that bkuewhite with bkue and you're all set.
I forgot, check manual
Not going to work. When you use the preamp outputs, it turns off the speakers output on the deck. Also, my horns are being pushed by another amp. 300 watt rms inside and 300watt rms outside. Even if it was possible to run the horns off the deck power, 18watts rms won't do much at all.
Just a regular good quality HDMI cable.
If you have Iphone then you just need the USB cable and special plug. If you have a Android, youre out of luck. Only the 8500 does Android.
You need a car charger, MHL adapter from Samsung, and a good quality HDMI.
I do mine wireless no cables!
I only own the x8500bt
Galaxy s3
it's not

How did you provide the power supply for demo?
Can the hdmi be used from any input source?
