hi !, i always do unintentional pinch harmonic when i try to mute with the thumb do you have any tips for that? anyway love your content always great to see you on shorts
@@AmarAlhoch Thanks for the answer, I have another problem when I do vibrato, sweep, fast licks or scale my G string is doing some kind of pull of and I hear the muted sound of the g string whatever I do it still happens is it normal?
When you say that the fingertips of the picking hand mute 1 string above: do you mean every fingertip? So if you're playing three notes on the d string, do index, ring and pinky all mute the a string?
I'm hoping to get a Patreon going soon for that. It's the best way for me to be able to dedicate time to creating such videos. But yeah, muting practice never ends. It's very challenging 🎸
@@AmarAlhoch Hope that spins around soon for others, took the "everyone is different" advice to figure something out and now I'm slowly muting my scales and a few simple riffs
In the vid u mentioned palm mute away from the bridge , but how far exactly should it be ? Cuz my guitar is a mocking bird and i think i might place it a little too away from the bridge?? Cuz where im picking right now is very close to my guitar neck's end
By away from the bridge, I mean to move your palm towards the nut, not the other way. But it's all preference. It's just something to experiment with and find a balance between comfort and how effective it is in different places.
Good god. I can't believe it. I don't see how that is possible. Are you human? 😉 I can actually hear your pick on the strings, sometimes it sounds like a bird flapping in random bursts, like a bird caught in a mist net. Other times it sounds like a hummingbird hovering at a feeder or flower. Then when you're raking, i can't hear it or even see what strings you're hitting, just the extremes of the motion. Do you hear every note you play in real time? What i mean is, if you "mute" a note and don't do it the way you intended, can you tell as soon as you play it? Cuz all i hear is like strings of notes, lol. Awesome, really. Now, that's shedding. 👍👌
Thank you! The birds nest in these strings! 🐦🦜🕊️🐦⬛😄 To answer your question, yes I can hear every note I play and I'm aware of the sloppy notes. The faster and cleaner you get, the more you can hear. 🙂
The muting technique also depends on pick angle. It's very difficult to mute using the thumb when downward pick slanting.
Awesome

Thank you! Just make sure you are not making big picking movements. The tip of your pic shouldn't be too far from the string after you strike it. 🙂

How long u been playing?
Does this have a simplified scale or is it a multitude of scales combined?
It's just minor scale

Just one finger is enough to mute the string. Whichever one makes sense to do so with whatever it is you're playing
@AmarAlhoch Thanks for your reply, Amar! Have a great day!
Muting is so hard for me, any chance you already have a video going into detail about it? As a total beginner videos about muting aren't helping

practice always with high gain

Do you have a teaching program or offer any lessons? I have the same guitar BTW. I loooove it haha
I don't have any online courses yet but I'm hoping to make it happen this year. I curre currently offer Skype lessons though.
And yes, the guitar is awesome! 🔥🔥
4k definition
I'd love to get a 4k camera for these videos haha
@@AmarAlhoch Noo, I was just joking.. about high definition of each note u hit.. Its so precise 🤘🤘🤘
Oh haha! I was a bit slow there. Thank you! 😄🤘
What do you mean palm mute away from the bridge
Move your palm further from the bridge (towards the nut). That'll give you a stronger mute than resting it right in front of the bridge. 🤘
