I am certainly not surprised. Any vehicle with Capra axles and 12.8-13.5 WB will perfectly suit that size tire. I made my own version of this with Cut’N’Shuts. On my rock krawlers are still king. Perhaps I should send in my scrubbed in set to be inspected by the canyon scoring system and see how they stack up. Fun content thanks for sharing.
This tire is crazy. I made a 13.5 wheelbase rig and the 5.25 got me high enough to get onto all the local rocks and the green compound is a local favorite too.
I just mounted a set of Hello RC’s 5.25 3D printed soft and medium inserts in the Tusk and found the perfect combo for the Traxxas K10 finally. The AMK over under drive contributes to the single change made and I removed the ridiculous servo mount also. Doesn’t that sound familiar?😂
@@LumpkinMumfins1 I really have seen pics of the 4.19s in a FB group somewhere. I wish I would have taken a screen shot. Their team drivers have been comping with them.
No freaking way! If the Bugger build isn’t done by the time they’re released I’ll send a set to the Canyon for testing 👌👌👌 might send ‘em to the canyon anyhow, but we’ll see!
I talked about that a lot and I don't find a lot of people do besides yourself and that's really where I got it was from you and when you talk about the position how you can position a vehicle how the tire does in that moment
J-Con is releasing a 4.19 tusk for class 1 trucks. They brought it to PL by the fire last year to show off. Should be on shelves before the summer hits.
I just got my set. I ordered SL3D’s for WDW’s cut and shuts and they are JUST a mm or 2 to short and narrow…I’m going to try a wrap of reticulated foam.
well then..injora needs to step up their game and produce 2.2 silicones. Timtin need to make some 2.2s also, Id love to see you test some 2.2 canyon med's/softs. Man that rig looks awesome on those.
Yeah 5.25 is minimum for some non-sorrca c3. There's a bunch of people that were making cut-n-shut tusk 1.9. Hence the same width. They listened, now if they would release the 4.19 tusk...
I think you could do it with success with any of the tires out there that have a 2.2 "LP" version. These on the back with 1.9s in the front would be almost exactly like running a portal rear, just with far less underdrive. So the clearance, but not the gearing.
It's sort of become a thing-- Argentum runs his rears "reversed," Steeeve was set up with his rears reversed, now here with Yella. Center chevrons pointing forward in the front, and backward in the rear. I have theories as to why it works, but I just know that it does. This tire is from a different planet than the Rover. The 2.2 Rover is like 65mm wide, and these are barely 47mm. The amount of traction these generate is downright astounding.
'Lil Yella was the fella who brought me to the Canyon when I was searching all things Enduro. Now I'm building a Poised T3 (V1) on SSD diamond AR44 axles... one of those spider wasp things, and I gotta figure out if I wanna run these new Tusks or 1.9 Ruptures. With the Tusk LP, did you have to adjust your steering endpoints much after running the Ruptures on 'Yella?
You know what I find real real very obvious about J Concepts Tire is that a lot of people try to make their tires so soft and gummy and this and that the third but then when you put them on the Rocks they lose all that stickiness blah blah blah J Concepts does not make their Tire real super soft does not make their lug real super soft and they still dominate
JConcepts Green is my favorite compound. I put it right between the capability of ProLine Predator and G8, but without the drawbacks of either. It's as tacky as Vanquish Red, but doesn't turn terrible as soon as it hits dirt (I would also put Traxxas S1 above G8, but you can only get you know, the one tire in S1.)

WHOA! never thought I would see a Ding Dong lurking in the Canyon comments 🤣
Good to see you here Logan!
You should ❤😊great idea!
I'd love to see that Logan! Also kudos on the head to head tire test series you just started. Looking forward to the rest of them!
Logan, how is it you’re not a paid member of this man’s canyon?
This is the James Brown of crawl.
I am glad I witnessed the best tires ever tested at the canyon. 👏 👏 👏

Just put these on my Capra and love them.
Its amazing how good these are, getting on the top of the leaderboard:
1. 2.2 Tusk LP -> 98.0
2. 1.9 Megalithic -> 96.8
3. 1.9 Injora Pro Comp -> 95.7
My favorite tire in any size!! Prepare ourselves...a 4.19" Tusk is coming. I've seen the pictures on the internet, so you know it's true!
Please, sir, may I have some 4.19 Tusks? Ruptures? Both? I have the rigs for ‘em, just want ‘em to be made!

Gozer would look awesome with a camo patina. Futuristic military vehicle......Maybe the gray black camo, or the blues.
PSI baby! The wide vs skinny debate continues on through eternity!
Those looked awesome on Yella! now everyone else will have to step up their game. as always thanks
In my twisted head a 98 is the right score...wow what a tire for the Canyon and Yella. Great performance.
Please be kind.
AMAZING TIRE!! Will be looking at these for my Capra. Stay safe, my friend
If JConcepts made a 4.3" Tusk I'd buy them for all my portal rigs. That's two sets.
these are LP for portals 2.2, cant fit the 4.75 because of body issues ? the class 2 run 4.75 on portals no issues.
See people talk about how expensive they are but look at how good they are
Great video!! Lol on that "Extra 1/2" " 😂😂
Clearly it's a very good tire! Very good review👍 Hyrax same day same truck same insert would be a great comparison.

This is gonna send ripples though the four vehicles in the Canyon on Class 1s. I mean, not really. But I'll probably end up testing them anyway.
They released today and they also released the 4.19 megalithics
I hope everything is OK at the canyon, lots of bad weather up there
Just ordered a set, great video!
Amazing tires

I want to see this vs the Rovers
Boy class 3 just got real real

And 2 days after I posted this, 4.19 tusk appeared. Mine came in the mail Thursday 😍
I thought you was going to put it on toothless for sure like I feel like he would fit these very well
Good to be back
I would most definitely give him a 9.9 on slick Rock
What do you think about a pho mullet build by using 1.9 in the front and 2.2 on the rear?

Tusk just fu...ng rule🏆
Yellow just became superman!🤩😎⚡
Did you mount the rear ones backwards on purpose?
Do you think these are better then my 2.2 HB Rovers?

I had some Redcat gen8 factory tires and if I ran them backwards they seamed to do better

Nope. Exact same setup for both tires. They're close in size, these just somehow magically drive harder.
When you take into consideration that increased diameter can make that kind of difference, it isn't as impressive as you think.
Haha! Would have been 9.9s all around if all the tires were pointing the same direction😂 jk thanks for the vid!
Lightweight is the way :)
Well you're in luck, as Yella is one of the lightest in the fleet, alongside Rattlecat (which in speech-to-text Siri always writes as "Ratul Kat.")
what does the lp stand for in the 2.2 LP?
Low Profile.
Hmm, I think these would be good on an H10 Optic.
The Optic should have come on 5.25s, and Vanquish has no excuse for putting it on C2s. Nothing about the H10 is scaled to a 4.75" tire.
Majical
no math needed
YOU LIKE I LIIIKE. AHHHHHHHHH 🤣🤣

Even tuskier.
Get a napkin. I think u lost an ounce. lol bad azz tires
First world problems, having to find a place for 1.9's...😂. Now you are going to have to build a rig just for the ruptures.😮
