I know that isn't the most accurate Lunar Pilot model (too big, wrong logo, has a date window, etc), but I still think the best strap for it would be one of the NASA velcro clones that are out there. They are quite different to the velcro strap supplied with the watch, and not only look great but are authentic to what Dave Scott wore on his Bulova on the mission.

Hey, if you dont mind me asking what is your wrist size? I have a wrist size of 6.75'' and want this watch to wear with leather straps, but am aware that leather straps could risk looking awkward with larger lug to lug lengths.
I own a 7" wrist. Leather or Nubuck/suede looks great on this Bulova. I actually just wore a grey leather stap on this to a wedding and looked great. Check out:

My research is pointing me in the direction of a this Bulova, a Hamilton Khaki Field, the TimeX Weekender or a Marathon Field watch. I’m ideally looking for a watch under $500, but closer to under $300 is far better. What are some of your suggestions? Thanks!!
Neil, all great options that you are considering. Owning the Bulova and Hamilton, I can recommend both as top tier options for sun-$500 and well worth the investment. These were considerable investments for me, and I waited for the Hamilton and Bulova to both go on sale before I acquired them. Are you looking for a field watch or leaning towards a chronograph?
@@watchstrapguy Field Watch. Additionally, what strap do you find most versatile for year round wear on your Field Watch. I like the NATO a lot, leather and silver. But that can get expensive real quick lol.
I hear you - there are lots of great options for field watches, but Hamilton really offers top value for the $. I wear a NATO strap very frequently, but have been leaning towards the silicone straps for the extra hot summer months. I'm a big fan of the Barton Elite Silicone Watch Bands shown in the Bulova video. Super comfortable, flexible, and cheap.
How in the actual f did you get that Velcro nato on? I've been trying for 20 mins to put on the one that came with mine and it just doesn't fit between the case and the holes for the spring bars. Already made a small scratch on the finish of the back of the case and I just got it today
With this model, the Velcro strap fit perfectly with normal spring bars. There is another Lunar version where the diameter between the case and holes is more narrow, which you may have. That said, what’s the model # of your piece?
yo do they all come with a Velcro strap option or is this a special addition? What is the case size relative to yo wrist? No lume shoot?
I believe you can purchase the leather/velcro combo, NATO only, or metal bracelet variant. Case size is 45mm, wrist is 7". No lume shots in any of these vids, but might be a good idea to include in future content!
