I have scoured the internet for a video and this one was the one I loved the most. I have watched this video probably 5-6 times in the last two weeks. I just started my painting on a panel and I love it so much. Thank you for making this video !!!!!!
I enjoyed this video very much. You did a beautiful job with the white wash paint over the brick. Really makes the brick look more authentic. I may give this a try. I’m looking at doing a entry wall. This would be outstanding! Thanks for sharing.
Cool project. One of the challenges with using drywall spackle is it doesn't flex as the panels expand and contract. For future reference, there is a latex caulk with fine sand in it, used for "grouting" lines between floor tile planks. At Lowe's it's found in the flooring section by the grout mix, and comes in different colors. Because it is basically a latex caulk, it will flex as the panels expand and contract.
Thank you for the video. Looked at others and they just seemed to tedious for the final effect. I kept thinking, couldn’t you just get that effect with some chalk paint? Finally, I found yours and I love the different example you’ve shown.
That was my weekend project last weekend we left it like it was and it turned out awesome if we get tired of the loom we will whitewash it later....looks awesome
Thank you so much- we have it over the entire bottom portion of all our kitchen walls and this is a great way to update it before a complete Reno can be done. Your project looks amazing in your kitchen
I love this! I just got this same panel for my kitchen bar and I thought it was too dark. I am using the chalked paint to lighten up the brick panel. Thanks 😊🙏
Absolutely, love it. Thank you, so much for such a wonderful video... I’m definitely going to use the faux brick panels in my kitchen and an accent wall in my bedroom. Thanks again Deidra. Your video was very helpful. =)
I know im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Brecken Briggs I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
looks good but terribly slow technique , probably averaging 30 seconds per brick ...... I would paint all the grout joints , let them dry , then paint all the bricks with a roller and wipe with a large , flat , maybe dampened sponge , get the whole thing done faster
Thank you 🙏🏼 just what I needed!! I loved the video so much !!! Ps: I don’t know what kind of person hits the unlike button to a channel who’s trying to help others
Instead of having a straight edge for a seam , cut the 1/2 brick out the sheet , so it ends up looking like a jigsaw piece, then the seam should disappear , it's a little more work but worth it, love the wash look, but then the brick is really neat anyway .
Deidre - Restless Mind such a shame, it doesn't have to be a perfect cut , you can cover the join with tile fix, all purpose filler ex and paint . Love the outcome though , the panel I've seen so far in UK are pretty expensive unfortunately, or I'd have this just about everywhere with ship lap .
Love this. Do you have a link to the brick panels? I find it's really hard to do a search for proper raised brick panels. So many companies try to pass off photographic prints for proper texture.
I love it! You mentioned you used brads for a less permanent upgrade in case you change your mind. What do the brads look like? How are they applied to affix to wall?
How would a horizontal seam within the mortar compare as it relates to the appearance? Also, did you have to move the outlet in the wall forward in order to put the face plate back on?
I would think you could use it for floors BUT would need to put a durable sealer on it. I've seen people do plywood, stained and sealed and made a beautiful floor so I don't see that this would be that different. Just LOTS of floor sealer. Good luck!
On the most noticeable outside corner, I mitered a small section to wrap around the corner so it truly looked authentic with the appropriate brick depth. On a couple of others, i just lined up the edge carefully, and painted the edge the wall color on the 90% wall. No one really notices.
What color have you painted your cabinets? It’s the exact color we want in our kitchen! We also want to do your faux brick technique for our backsplash. Just found you! Im binge watching!!!
Awesome tutorial. Exactly what I’ve been looking for for my kitchen backsplash. I need 4 panels, I’ve only got one painted so far. Although a slow process, it’s the best way to achieve the look I want. So thanks for sharing! Ps. What did you use to seal it? I definitely want a few coats of some sealant, to protect from splatter from my range and my kitchen sink.
Not a problem. If you over caulk or make a mess, just use damp paper towels or rags to clean off the mess you make. Make sure to use only latex caulking. Silicone is NOT to be used for this (is just rubber).
I found it online at Home Depot but it was under Hardboard Wall Panel, not Faux Brick. Here is the link www.homedepot.com/p/1-4-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-Kingston-Brick-Hardboard-Wall-Panel-278844/205683640

Awesome!!
I've watched many videos on faux brick and this seems the simplest technique. I want to try this. Thank you for sharing your process!
By far one of the best videos on this. The up close footage is fabulous! Thank you!
:)
Deidre, your wall turned out beautifully! I'm getting ready to tackle my faux brick panels. Thanks for the tutorial!

Great!!
Thank you for sharing! Just what I was looking for, yay!
I'm getting ready to do this in my kitchen as a back splash thank you for sharing.
Any pictures of your kitchen project?
How did it turn out ?
Caulk first people, then drywall mud/sparkle. This will help reduce joint cracking.
This turned out beautifully!!!
So glad I found your channel! I've been looking for a tutorial on this! Thanks for the great video!
I liked both looks and can't decide between them.
Wonderful job, thanks for sharing your tips.
Thank you for the video. I was looking for a tutorial on just painting it all white. Wonderful job. Thank you for sharing

Good idea.
Great work! Any tips on how to do corners? For example, putting faux brick on all sides of a square column.
If you have the equipment, and measure well, you can actually miter the corners.
Great video and instructions!
Very helpful, thanks 👍🏽

Wish she would have shown the side to see how it looks on the corner and the connecting wall.
Instead of having a straight edge for a seam , cut the 1/2 brick out the sheet , so it ends up looking like a jigsaw piece, then the seam should disappear , it's a little more work but worth it, love the wash look, but then the brick is really neat anyway .
I tried that, but my cutting wasn't precise enough, and I made a big mess. I had to scrap that panel.
Beautiful job! What type of white paint did you use? Have you seen any separation of the brick from the backing board due to getting it wet? Thx!
excellent work
Great explanations
Can these panels be used for exterior?
I think you could make caulk do whatever you wanted to. Ya baby !
Love this. Do you have a link to the brick panels? I find it's really hard to do a search for proper raised brick panels. So many companies try to pass off photographic prints for proper texture.
Home Depot and Lowe’s sell them. Just look at the dimensions and you can tell how thick the pieces are
How do you cut out for your outlets?
You would have to measure REALY well and then use a reciprocating saw.
I love it! You mentioned you used brads for a less permanent upgrade in case you change your mind. What do the brads look like? How are they applied to affix to wall?
They are very tiny nails. Our staple gun handles them.
Wow, that really looks awesome...
GREAT JOB!!!
How would I adhere this to a tile backsplash?
Great video!
How would a horizontal seam within the mortar compare as it relates to the appearance? Also, did you have to move the outlet in the wall forward in order to put the face plate back on?
did you get your panels at Lowe's or home depot?
I’m pretty sure these are the Home Depot panels... the Lowe’s are much darker with almost black “mortar”
sorry for not able to hear your voice currently on my old dated computer. it looks good
Is it flat or a bit 3d?
How do you handle the edges on the exposed corners of the wall?
Some I use a mitered edge and make it look like the brick is the true depth. Others, I just sanded the end well on the 90 degree wall and painted.
Can you make a floor with the same material ?
Probably but it's made for walls so it probably wouldn't handle the wear and tear of being walked on all the time.
I would think you could use it for floors BUT would need to put a durable sealer on it. I've seen people do plywood, stained and sealed and made a beautiful floor so I don't see that this would be that different. Just LOTS of floor sealer. Good luck!
Those panels are perfect! Just want I'm looking for! Perfect color and textured, where did you get them from?
Home Depot or Lowes
Can you use them outdoors. I have a cement wall that I will love to cover
How does it work on an outside corner? Would I need to use trim over it? I'm curious of it would look ok or not.
On the most noticeable outside corner, I mitered a small section to wrap around the corner so it truly looked authentic with the appropriate brick depth. On a couple of others, i just lined up the edge carefully, and painted the edge the wall color on the 90% wall. No one really notices.
Oh I bet you're good with Caulk Deirdre.
I wish!
@@deidre-restlessmind4305 hit me up. 👌
How did you paint them white?
Roller, brush or spray
brush
So after spackling the seam is it just painted white? Or did you spackle the whole board and then paint?
I just did the seams, but you can spackle as much as you want for texture.
What color have you painted your cabinets? It’s the exact color we want in our kitchen! We also want to do your faux brick technique for our backsplash. Just found you! Im binge watching!!!
Thank you for watching!! Unfortunately, the cabinet color is a custom color I created. I wanted a gray-green, but it's actually a gray-green-blue!
What color paint did you use on kitchen cabinets??
It's a custom color. Sorry!
Wood you do floors with this panel?
Awesome tutorial. Exactly what I’ve been looking for for my kitchen backsplash. I need 4 panels, I’ve only got one painted so far. Although a slow process, it’s the best way to achieve the look I want. So thanks for sharing! Ps. What did you use to seal it? I used a satin finish that wipes up pretty well. I didn't seal it.
Love this!
Did you remove the baseboards before installing?
No. We cut them to just above the baseboards.
Is that brick panels ok for outdoor use?
No. I cannot imagine that working well.
Where can I find those faux brick walls can you tell me thank you.
You did a great job looks great good video 👍👍👍👌👌
Home Depot or Lowes.
Lowe's or Home Depot...
However, Home Depots faux brick I think looks more realistic....

Enrique Valdovinos does anyone listen? She stated at the beginning of the video where it can be purchased.
20 years from now the people that buy our house will be thinking …..what the hell were these people thinking !!!!!
im not very good at caulk. I just have a hard time getting it to do what i want it to do
Not a problem. If you over caulk or make a mess, just use damp paper towels or rags to clean off the mess you make. Make sure to use only latex caulking. Silicone is NOT to be used for this (is just rubber).
Think that person is kinda being funny with what u or the lady said.
😀😂😀🌭
Whatever happened to you? I love your videos! Blessings 🙏
I posted a video a month ago!!
My caulk never does what i want it to do either!
Jajaja after she said that , I came running to the comment section

The white mortar looked to faux for me!
Thank you for calling it mortar! Bricks have mortar. Tiles have grout.
If my main wall is concrete or brick how do I stick the faux brick wall onto my wall?
Tahirah Kamil put batons on the wall and you can screw/nail/ glue to them
*perfect imperfections
:)
That is an oxymoron.
Maybe if WE KNEW WHAT UR MISTAKE WAS.... IT WOULD HELP us not to make the SAME MISTAKE....LOL

Where did you get the faux brick?
They sell it at home depot
