It was so time consuming to renew Taiwanese passport, especially during covid. I had to do that to go back to Taiwan for inheritance matters. They had to verify the date of which you had your name changed.
Hi Joanna, not seeing any on-line login for information registration or passport renewal application info, looks like you can only mail an application in (and all the documents and passport) and hope they contact you (LA office), not sure if there is a restriction which office will accept the application, guess I will have to call each one. In USA they are ROC Missions or Taipei Economic and Cultural Office or TECO. Its going to be an adventure of patience and time!

Yep you should be able to renew it even if it expired 2 years ago! Feel free to call your local TECCO office for specific questions/situations, they're super helpful!
I am considering renewing my TW passport from the US, but honestly don’t know what the advantages are?! I can visit TW for up to 3 months with a US passport. No visa needed.
Hmm maybe voting privileges or the option for healthcare in Taiwan? I know the lines are certainly shorter at the airport if you enter Taiwan with a TW passport 😅

It *should be the embassy office you’re submitting your application to. If you call, they’ll tell you exactly what the Pay To name should be 😊
